Pretty impressive.I guess one thing is the deck that is hard to get, the other thing is getting the mechanices of the game so fast. For the first, money helps of course, for the second, I would agree that chess and MTG is not bad.
To answer your question: Once you are past rank 5 the opponents are not getting better, I would say. It is pretty much the same and you need is more time to grind the last steps.
Also brode did say that the first 2 months or so of a new account the players are in a different pool of players...so not to take away from the achievment, it is easier to get legend in your first two months (assuming you buy the cards you need) than any time after.
I'll post you some statistics from HS decktracker when I get back to my computer.
I would say around 200 games. Playing mostly taunt warrior, hunter, quest rogue and latest some murloc paladdin.
I've put some money in yeah. Welcome-bundle, ungoro prepurchase, gadgetzan, maybe 30 packs and prob around 40 arena runs with cash.
than you still do not have any cards from the classic set. would you confirm the amount of money you have spent ? I am just asking because of interest :)

Damn... I really wanted to be impressed, but that's a LOT of money. You're just another player then :( I commend you for your skill but this might as well be in the "headed to legend" thread. You broke my heart pepetus!

Why? What does money have to do with skill?
Because we expected him to go all Bloodfen Raptor on his opponents' asses. However, with the spent money it's just a normal player (albeit with a smaller collection as he doesn't seem to have many classics/ karazhans/ wotog)
I'm still impressed though, because that's many sets missing and quite a high rank!

Hi guys!
Greetings from northern europe. I'm new to Hearthstone and I'm really loving the game. I started playing one week before ungoro release.
I've played pretty much half and half arena and standard.
When writing this I'm currently at rank 3 + 2 stars in ranked.
Now I'm trying to reach legend in my first whole season. Can I do it?! I'll keep you posted :)
When did you first hit legend? I assume the ladder gets lot tougher in ranks 1.2 & 3?
In the past I've played some mtg and a lot of chess - I think they help ;)
Just out of curiosity - which deck are you playing and how much time did you invest? (how many games?)
love to see the deck you are using. Personally i think it is quite an accomplishment given the timeframe!

gz but it is hard to belieave..
I mean do you play a deck of basic cards or did you splash like 300 €/$ for packs ?
Or ask how much money did you invest?
