If I'm playing my Ele-Jade Shaman and my rogue opponent plays the quest, I concede first turn - there is simply no point in wasting the time playing out the game. I'm glad you posted this thread to highlight the issue, and glad to know it's not just me. With aggro decks ruling the meta for the last several months, many matches having very little to do with playing the game, and instead rely almost totally on the luck of the initial draw - not a lot of fun, and I hope Blizzard takes notice and starts gearing the game mechanics to something other than mindless 4-6 turn death races.
I usually try to play games out, but when my rogue opponent opens with quest, coin, firefly, shadowstep, I'm out. I don't know how anyone actually thinks that deck is fun.
I concede if I'm clearly dead next turn. If I *think* I'm going to die on my opponent's turn and they emote "well played" I will also instantly concede because I consider "well played" before lethal the height of BM and the sign of a socially retarded cock who doesn't deserve lethal.
Wait, really? You have a really short window to drop a "well played" once the game is over. I always figured it was respectful to do it before lethal.
Turn 1 rogue or mate quest is an auto conced. Worst decks to play against in the history of hearthstone... why I still play at this point is beyond me...
I played a Menagerie Druid up to rank 5 this season (a pretty shitty deck, tbh) and people were conceding against that the first time they lost the board (like turn 3). It was really weird, and it made me think my deck was OP! (I learned a little later that it definitely was not).
Pretty annoying as I actually enjoy playing the game (usually), not just the queue slot machine and mulligans.
I would imagine there is a strong correlation between those who concede early and those who moan about the meta, nerfs, faling to reach rank 5 with their 'good' or meta deck, etc.
Literally everyday I have a game where someone saltily concedes to me and my hand is total garbage...like if they'd just hung on, they genuinely had a chance, because I know their deck and what they potentially topdeck or whatever. It's the biggest misplay you can make, it's worse than missing lethal IMO, it sets a bad habit and is tilt inducing. Just relax and play out the game, unless its a literal mathematical certainty you lost, like 100%. If you are too bad at the game to know this for sure, don't concede. It is part of getting better.

Does anyone remember playing combo druid back before the pre-Kraken nerfs? No Savage Roar in hand and the opponent has lethal on board? No worries. Force of Nature -> emote -> emote -> emote -> opponent concedes
Seriously, just don't concede until it's lethal. This past week I've come back and won games where I had 5 turns of hero power/no development vs quest rogue and getting milled into fatigue on turn 8 in a priest mirror. There are times where I wanted to concede but I let the games play out and was rewarded
If you really "hate" some decks, don't incentivize the people playing it by giving them free wins

As I get older, I want to actually have fun when I play games. Otherwise I start looking at Rocket League or Hitman or something. Certainly don't feel like supporting Hearthstone at all if that's how it's going to be. The principle of teaching some stranger that my fun deck can beat his easy mode isn't worth wasting 20 minutes of my own life.
Meh. I never climbed with quest rogue or pirate warrior before, but if this thread is a real thing, I might give them a try. Free wins that require 0 minutes of my time sound good to me. I can save using my brain and having fun at the nets
No actually the real reason why there is more conceding is that now there are brackets at rank 15,10 and 5. So you can't fall down those ranks. Meaning when you are done the with the match people have a great incentive to just give up and go do another one ;)
I simply do not ever concede unless I have to leave the game for some external reason. I consider it a personal challenge to deal with whatever comes at me till one of us dies. And I absolutely love it when games go way past lethal into "let's just see what will happen if I drag this out one more round" territory.
Then again, I am not easily angered, don't take things personally and can endure even the most obnoxious deck for a few minutes. And let's be honest--the obnoxious decks are usually the fast ones so it's not like it's going to take forever.
I play six of the quests and I have not seen any increase in early concessions.
I will say, though, I don't miss Reno one bit. Amara has the same basic function but she's limited to one class.
Blame the game, not the players. The amount of cards and decks you'll encounter is minuscule. We know the game well enough to know when we have a 95% of losing as early as turn 4 and see no point in continuing the match.
Yesterday I conceded in aggro token druid mirror when my opponent played Raven -Coin - Raven - Innervate - some more stuff. It's definitely a winnable game if he whiffs on draws, as he played all but 1 card, but do I really care to spend 5-15 minutes to find out? And then lose and be all salty about it? Or do I just admire that dream start of his, concede and go play another one? I choose the latter.
You did the right thing. No reason to hang on for dear life when the game is NOT well suited for comebacks. Like when a hunter gets a fat scavenging hyena, rogue gets a giant Edwin, quest rogue goes off early, pirate warrior coins into frothing, quest mage is your opponent, etc. there are numerous times when I just bail or quit the app altogether. Sorry. Fuck you and you're god drawn bull shit deck. Make them sit there and waste time as you cold kill the app. Sure, conceding early and often may cost you a game here and there that you could have pulled out but it is FAR more likely that you'll lose anyways and would have now wasted that time when you you could have played another game. Also, you are correct about the salt factor. Losing to some obnoxious deck sucks. Losing to an interesting deck is fine.

I win due to skill and lose due to bad RNG. :D

I always auto-concede against rogues, pirate warriors and mages. I don't have time for those decks

With ladder floors insta-conceding saves a lot of time and has no drawbacks at all.

It's always fun when people concede turn one thinking you are something you are not. I'm thinking of my accounts with very few cards.

With today's stressful lifestyles and lack of exercise, premature conceding is becoming a real epidemic.
I mean, that's what I've heard - I don't have a problem with it myself. But my, uh, friends take some medication that helps.

Well if i know my winning condition is gone i do not see a point in continue. I just want to be able to play as many games as possible.
Call me an early quitter. Some of these "Never give up" guys seemed really excited to see turn 1 Warrior/Rogue quest.
"Wow.. can't wait to trade all my minions into their taunts."
"This combo looks interesting, I wonder how a board full of 5/5 looks like."
Sarcasm aside, I know how my deck works. I skip myself the misery when I see an almost impossible to win match up. Win win situation.
