Dragon priest, zoolock, mid range hunter, Freeze mage, Aggro Druid, Mid range paladin, Aggro mage, Purify priest and murloc paladin are all tier 2 decks and I have seen all of these types of decks. Even though elemental shaman is listed as a tier 3 deck, i have seen players have success with that deck. There are actually a lot of decks that are seeing play right now and they are competitive. Pirate warrior, Taunt warrior, Quest Rogue and Miracle Rogue are tier 1 decks, however all of those decks are not nearly as dominant as the tier 1 decks in msog. And at least not every single warrior is 95% a pirate warrior, I have actually seen a lot more taunt warriors than pirates.
Overall I like this meta a lot more than the previous meta, in MSOG we only had Pirates, Jades and Reno. It feels like there are a lot more decks and more classes are being played, and hunter and paladin have come back from the dead and they are both actually pretty good right now and a lot of ungoro cards that people said were going to suck and not see play are proving to be a lot better than expected, e.g Stonehill defender in paladin.
Overall my experience of the meta so far has been pretty positive, if there is any criticism I have, its that the meta is made up of mostly aggro/midrange decks but with the loss of reno and a lack of good neutral healing the meta was always going to end up being a bit faster.
I admit it kind of sucks that there is a lack of more control decks however until patches and jades rotate out, we probably will not have a slower meta because jade druid destroys control decks and even though Jade druid is tier 4, its only tier 4 because there are more rush decks around, and with the loss of reno, pirate warrior no longer have to worry about killing the opponent before turn 6 because even if opponents now make it to turn 6, they are most likely almost dead and their is now no longer reno to heal back up to full.
However a lot of the classes seemed to have adapted to the meta being faster and it seems like every single class has at least one competitive Aggro/midrange deck.
you are the fucking problem here, just saying quest rogue is beatable and calling someone salty, how about you back up what you are saying, or maybe enlighten us since you seem to know the magic way to stump quest rogue. The only way to beat them is to either rush them down and hope they have a bad draw, because they can roflstomp aggro if their draw is nuts, or do some sort of freeze exodia mage type shit and hop eyour draw is nuts and theirs is ass. That doesnt seem healthy
I beat Quest Rogue consistently with a Sherazin Miracle Rogue.
The problem with this meta is that Pirate Warrior, Quest rogue and Taunt Warrior are the Tier 1 decks that people flock to and you will be balls deep in those opponents from rank 20 up - probably lower. Basically they are 75% of my matchups at rank 15. Pirate Warrior has been complete cancer for an entire season already and now there is Quest Rogue to go with it and a taunt warrior that is difficult to beat unless you can either rush him down or get lucky with some dirty rats or haywire Ragballs. ( I hereby (c) the phrase "haywire Ragballs" ).
To me, Blizzard is blatantly letting Quest Rogue sit in this meta knowing full well it is completely broken, but milking the sales of the new expansion as people flock to it to ride the cancer wagon. This exactly what they did with STB and pirate warrior last expansion. Lets face it if cancer Pirate Warrior didn't get you into rank 5-1 last season you could blame Dragon Priest and Renolock , so try again now or jump on the cancer Quest Rogue and get some while the getting is good. This expansion is a repeat of the last - a handful of overly superior decks, insanely large swings due to draw order or random effects, and very very miserable if you are not playing a "meta" deck. The only reason the broken decks don't have ridiculously high win rates is that there are more than one and their effectiveness tends to cancel each other out - Pirate Warriors meet other pirate warriors and Quest Rogues and vice versa.
Its a cynical and transparent cash grab by Blizzard who appear to be going for short term income rather than a long term balanced game. More and more people are clicking onto what a giant con this is. This expansion sucks balls and whilever Blizzard keeps repeating this they will never get another dollar from me.
Blizzards always helping noobs they can't even play other decks instead aggro decks like face like hunter, quest rogue, pirate warrior to hit face and win. I wish blizzards nerf aggro decks so more controlish meta and guess what those noobs can't even stand because they can't play the game they know only face and ZERO games sense so what they do uninstall the game, that's not going to happen blizzards knows how to make money because most of the people can't play control deck and also for newer players its really hard to get all the cards so they keep supporting aggro meta. Its all money BLIZZARDS.
or just play arena i think, is better than play rank, because when you play rank all people just want to win to get high ranks for reward maybe, so of course all people just use a very good tier 1 deck, if you just want to having fun maybe play casual?
from 20 game i face, pirate warr, taunt warr, crystal rogue, shama element, freeze mage and lyra priest miracle
I think Blizzard should do something about quest rogue and pirate warrior (and possible freeze mage). Maybe not the decks with the highest winrates and not unbeatable, but they're incredibly annoying to play against. The two most braindead decks to play should not be capable of consistently winning by turn 5-6 if you don't draw the right answers at the right time. Uninteractive decks are just generally not fun.
Quest rogue is basically playing solitaire, pirate warrior just goes face. Freeze mage with 3+ iceblocks is just really stupid design. Passing for 3 or more turns being able to do nothing is not fun. Blizzard stated before that they don't like freeze mage but it's still one of the top decks. Iceblock should be hall of famed. They stated they don't like OTK decks, and we have freeze mage AND essentially quest rogue now.
Nerfing just quest rogue would probably be enough. Hyper-aggro decks especially Pirate warrior are only as popular as they are now because quest rogue is destroying the control decks that would normally keep them in check. Same thing with freeze mage. It just happens to be that the two counters to a highly popular uninteractive deck are two equally uninteractive decks. So yeah, meta may be "diverse" but has a LOT of really tedious gameplay.
I played only a couple of quest rogue matches and it is really extremely powerful. The only thing you really need to do is keep track of how many times you played each card.
On its own the deck would probably good but as soon as charge gets involved things become stupid relatively quickly. I think they should really consider to either reduce charge to minions only or remove it alltogether.

I agree on the iceblock part. It just creates to many situations in which you are just waiting for the inevitable a couple of turns before you loose. "Fresh and exciting" was the new "fun and interactive" of this marketing campaign but loosing to double iceblock has been stale for a while now (the only thing fresh is the way you die).
Pirate warrior and quest rogue are just the result of keeping the charge mechanic as it is in the game for small to midrange minions. It needs to go away or we will always have a new version of an aggressiv deck.
There's a lot of rogues, but that's good for me. I feel invincible against their quest, I have never lost yet ^^. But anyways, I am seeing a lot more variety. Yesterday for example, I played 6 ranked matches. One against jade druid, two against rogue quest, one against pirate warrior, one against taunt warrior and one against midrange hunter.
There are many mages out there too. Right now, I love the meta. I would prefer a bit more of control but anyways, it feels like there's enough variety for me.
The problem is there's so many easy win decks. Jade Druid, Quest Rouge, Pirate Warrior, Freeze Mage. There are a lot new fun, skillful deck likes midrange Paladin and Hunter too And Quest Warrior and Priest are good but not too OP.

Freeze Mage is not an easy win deck. It's a deck that mostly relies on survival, RNG cards (cabalist's tome, babbeling book etc) and drawing all your combo pieces. I am rank 5 at the moment and I have only faced one jade druid thus far. Jade decks are simply too slow and get destroyed by quest rogues and pirate warriors. Hell even taunt warrior can outvalue jade druid's at the moment because of their quest.
Meta has never been healthier before. Not only ther's a great variety of decks but in every deck you can tech in and out lot of different cards.
I bet the only people complaining here are netdeckers without a hint on how to play the game for real ahahhaah
Ungoro best expansion ever.
I agree with you about the other people. I thibk people playing hearthstone have very little card game knowledge and sre complaining about standard and healthy card game mechanics (like combo for example)
I am not saying the meta is good or bad.
I am wondering are you truely happy with hearthstone as a cardgame with its mechanics like not being able to interract with opponents hand, no blocking (which promotes curvestone and aggro) or are you just saying its less bad then before?
I don't think that the game is perfect right now but it's fine cause strong decks counter each other.
There are some uninteractive mechanics that could be done better but those are draw dependant and force people to play around things. Hearthstone can't be vanilla forever xD
I dont get how can one say this meta is worse than the previous one. It is realy not. Just the fact hunter, paladin and priest are viable makes this meta awesome.
well. arena meta is disgusting right now. before ungoro my average wins in arena is 9.
just this past 3 days, i went 1-3 five times in a row all 15 losses from hunters.
surprisingly I drafted a taunt shaman deck with around 15 minions being taunt (plus those taunt totems). it went 6-0 against all 6 hunters and got to 6-3 against mages and 2 rogues
What the fuck is wrong with meta. I can't find an oponent who is not playing an aggro deck. I'm playing control paladin and my WR is positive, but seriously what the fuck.

It's not just the double ice block. I've had to face four in a row in the same game... That's just absurd.
Weirdi only seen 2 pirates today....
Noobs telling us what decks are op again... Jesus.
Meta is fine and still evolving. Don't like it? Stop playing.
