I want to preface this discussion stating that: Yes, I have sub-par internet connection. I live in Brazil and our internet providers are amongst the most expensive and inefficient in the world, just like about anything else around here. That said, on an average day I can play WoW and watch youtube on another screen simultaneously no problem whatsoever, so it's not like I'm in dial-up era here.
Why do I get disconnected from games so often? This has been a long lasting problem for me... I'm playing a game normally, and all of a sudden when I make a move the game stops responding, as if I just clicked a button written "upload the entire content of your hard drive to a server in japan" and not "this minion, out of the 4 options it has of things to attack, attacks this one". And then after a while, that can vary between 2 seconds and 9~12 seconds, the little pop-up says I've been disconnected and it's attempting to reconnect me, and if it happens too many times over multiple turns, it eventually just says "you lost your last ranked match due to disconnect", or something like that.
Now, how can I play a real time mmo and not have the same problem occur there? It's not like I never get disconnected playing wow, but it is very rare, and given the amount of variables happening in-game are miles more vast, I can't help but think that the operation team HS is doing with their servers is not very efficient... unless this is only happening to me. Which is why I created this thread, to know it I'm alone in this alternative reality.
Now that I think of it, I do play wow on a Brazilian (I think) server, so maybe that explains a lot :P Still, curious to see if other people experience this or if there is someone who knows something that could help me.
