If I had to guess, I'd say my opponents have gotten their Rogue quest off 80% of the time before turn 5-7. It's a broken quest and should be nerfed. Surprised so many people are defending it here.
It's silly to play against. Even if you have a perfect opening hand with __________ (insert deck here) you can still get stomped by a quick rogue quest.
It's just like any other deck you hate: If you want to beat it, play a deck that beats it. Pirate Warrior and Midrange Hunter are good choices.
What you don't get to do is keep playing your favorite deck that's bad against it and complain that Rogue is OP. The reason it seems OP right now is because everyone on the ladder is trying to play other quest decks, and most of them are bad against The Caverns Below unless they tech specifically against it.

You shouldn't have to alter your deck choice simply to counter one deck. That's a clear sign that a card/deck needs changed.
This is great! Rogue finally gets a deck to play that doesnt involve drawing your whole deck to win and everyone is up in arms about a nerf. It is clear that the quest rogue is designed to punish slower decks that play 1-2 minions a turn so it definitely struggles against other fast decks, but no, lets just nerf the shit so we can find something else to complain about. I hear questing mage is pretty uninteractive too, what with 4 ice blocks and 20+ frost novas to stall the game, lets nerf that.
I don't think so. The fact that we can play a good deck that can beat it easily, make the deck seem pretty fair for me. Pirate warrior easily beat rogue quest and can beat another decks as well. And that is really healthy to the meta. all the classes have at least a deck to play. and these decks counters to each other. Unlike the pirate warrior in the last expansion, if you're playing a rogue quest deck, you must to keep in mind that if you play against a pirate warrior or midrange hunter, you're in a very bad situation. And we don't need to play pirate just to beat rogue, pirate still really good against other decks, but its hard to beat handlock, purify priest and taunt warrior. I must have comitted a lot of grammatical mistakes, but, i'm really apprecieting this meta.
Odd thread, since Pirate Warrior is one way to beat that deck. If they really want the game to be over by turn 5 they need to give other classes tools so they can participate.
And pirate warr do the same to all others decks. Just kill u at turn 4. But hey rogue quest is broken. I personally will love playing the more 6 months against pirate warrior
Yes, on the one hand I faced QR twice with a passive deck - they did their card-jiggling for 4-5 turns, then started pounding out 1 mana 5/5s and I just resigned.
On the other hand the other 3 times I faced them I just got minions out roughly on curve and you totally squash them. You ignore any minion they haven't bounced - they're all 1/1s so they don't compete for the board. You just send everything face. By turn 5-6 they complete the quest but are on 5 health without Taunt or heal. Or even better they don't draw the right cards and they're stuck with 1/1 chargers, a Moroes or a Violet Teacher, and a Prep. GG.
No way is rogue similar to pirate warrior. Pirate warrior is completely filled with burst cards so that they can consistently get turn 5-7 lethals. Rogue on the other hand struggles to complete the quest. They do not consistently complete their quests as common as pirate warrior lethals on turn 5-6. Plus you are still able to deal with the board before the quest is complete because they are low stated minions. If you have a decent curve and out tempo the rogue, you can either go face or attempt to control the board with board clears and trading.
If if anything the Mage quest is op. The condition is far too easy to complete since coin counts and mage can generate so many spells with other cards. Their quest makes the game uninteractive.
next expansion: omg purify-curator-otk-Priest is the new quest Rogue, reeeeee.
Why are people always so butthurt when there's a strong deck that you actually need to counter. Like, waht even is your ideal meta? 3 top tier decks that operate in a rock-paper-scissors fashion? Or does everyone just get an op deck and whoever draws best wins?
Their ideal meta is they can play whatever they want because it "looks awwwesum" on paper, and they should always win because they are the best deck builders.
If if anything the Mage quest is op. The condition is far too easy to complete since coin counts and mage can generate so many spells with other cards. Their quest makes the game uninteractive.
The mage quest is not even close to OP. If you let a slow deck get to turn ten that you know requires certain combo's that is not overpowered its good game design. Mage quest gets destroyed by anything aggro like hunter as they cannot stall long enough with the flooding of minions and their hero power. Warrior (Taunt and Pirate) also ruins them.
Druid ruins it by pumping out high damage minions before the quest can be completed. If anything quest mage is a tier 2 / 2.5 deck. Way too unreliable to pull off in an aggro meta.
What is this nonsense, pirate warrior is an aggro deck, cavern rogue is a combo deck. Their not even same maintype of deck.
Also if you realy hate this deck play dirty rat, play aggro...its not like this deck is anbeatable...
just to think about it if anyone said prerelease in one week people will cra salt and tears over an rogue deck with stonetusk boar, panda and fary man...(i even got flamed saying this was a strong quest back then lmao).

Of course everyone will experiment! And we are not talking about favorite deck, the problem is that it seems "one quest will rule them all". What is the point of other quests since they just cannot counter a specific one well. Especially, priest, druid, paladin, mage and warlock (not talking about zoolock itself, the quest only).
The other quests work fine against other decks. Just because this deck beats them, doesn't mean they aren't good at other things.
There's bound to be one quest that beats several of the other quests -- that's just how things go. But there are some other quests that beat Rogue most of the time. Does that mean THOSE are the "best"? No, it means the game is working correctly.

The Rogue quest is completely fine. It's uninteractive, but so're all the quests. Its biggest enemy is itself - not drawing the requisite bounces.

Quest Rogue is just a ....quest rogue. It is slower than the pirate warrior and usually loses against him
so easy to counter, absolutely no trouble playing taunt warrior
at the high ranks is already hard to find the TERRIBLE AND OP Quest Rogue.
Just sayin'.
I'm on the fence about this one.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
Put 2 Mind Control Tech in your deck, that is it, the minion still 5/5 in your side.

this is just ridiculous.
Pirate warrior is still the pirate warrior.
