Am I the only one who loses motivation to play with classes once I've reached 500 wins? I feel like a feature such as awarding a new border for every subsequent 500th win would be really nice. Does anyone know if Blizzard have ever touched on this topic in the past?
I really don't care for golden portraits (I have some heroes at ~400, some at ~200, don't give a damn). I play for the fun of Hearthstone, not to get my cards/ portraits as cosmetically shiny as possible, so it's hard for me to emphathise with what you're experiencing. What would you suggest would be a good next reward for say, a total of 1000 wins?
New and only motivationafter 500winsx9classes and 12 arena wins, try to achieve a higher Legend rank. Nothin else that i can think of
PS: join open tournaments
Pretty much this. I also just mess around with weird and fun decks. Arena is fun to play. This is the end game, assuming you have all the cards, so you can take a break until new content rolls in.
I didn't think of it before but it's kind of like WoW where you have everything setup waiting for new content, chew through it, and then just mess around waiting for new stuff again.

I like the golden legendary idea, a reward of say 3 golden legendaries for your 1000th win, and maybe a platinum hero portrait border for your 1500th win would be pretty cool in my opinion. I'm sure Blizzard could come up with some suitable rewards if they were to implement the idea.
I had this problem until recently erring golden prepay as my last golden hero. Blizzard has spoken about adding 1000 win reward but they really just touched on it and didn't get into any detail. It soubded like they're aware people feel this way but they have other things they want to implement first.
i lose motivation after doing quests... got golden druid and lock, others are lagging behind at ~350 wins, except hunter that isn't even 60 yet... oh and i play since middle of beta ;p

Ok at least they're aware of it then. I wonder if the game keeps track of the wins on each of your classes past 500 wins, despite you not actually being able to see it.
Really like this idea, but why not combine them both? Borders would give the others a visual sense of how far you are into your next level up and how much you have played so far, and the golden skin would act as confirmation of the border's hint. Maybe the skin earned could be season exclusive too, as this skin could only be earned for X during season Y
I may or may not be representative of the HS community, but I thought your suggestion was pretty good. At least it gives an incentive for once your done leveling to 60 and earning 500 wins ... In my opinion too, there definitely should be some more individual achievements ingame. Have an upvote, and may the RNG be on your side ^^
If there were incentives to reaching something beyond a golden portrait hero then new players would spend so much time trying to achieve what we veteran players have. It's a greedy thought. I do understand that one will eventually be less motivated to play a hero that's already reached 500 wins but that's just how the game is: you aren't supposed to be playing to achieve golden hero status, you are supposed to play for fun and the thrill of "RNG" if that's even a thing for people.
I have a Golden Warrior, Priest, Rogue and Shaman. I don't play any of those classes as much anymore but when I do, it just feels nice to see them gold.
A suggestion though, make more NEW HEROES in the game and if we were to use them, maybe start us back at 0 ranked wins. I already had a 500 win priest before Tyrande came out so when I got her, she was already gold which felt easy. Maybe there's something to strive for if we don't get such a shortcut? I wouldn't mind trying to win another 500 games with Priest to get a Golden Tyrande if that's what people had to do to get her.
I'm strongly against any past 500 wins progression. I didn't lose motivation, but it felt bad playing in ranked with class that reached 500 wins while my other class were non golden, felt like wasted time while I could progress some more somewhere else (is it what they call ocd or something like that?). So I simply switched my main class and start playing it on ranked until it reached golden and now I have 9 golden classes. I can finally be at peace and play whatever I want without having that feeling.

I feel the same way. Rogue has always been my favourite class but now there's less motivation to play it in ranked as there's no further rewards
No you are not the only one. I have seen this thread before. It personally doesn't affect me at all, but you are not alone.
I don't have this issue. I have the golden heroes that I have because I love those classes, so I'm gonna keep playing them.
Besides, I can rock my golden Warlock and Legend cardback and make people think I'm good at the game xD
1000 wins a free golden legendary?

man, i lose motivation after hiting 60lvl

I play classes which good in the meta in order to win games. 500 wins grind is irrelevant. It's about ownage quality not portrait color.
Hall of Fame (ignore list): aleathas, Baylith, cendol, DiamondDM13, Dominieq, doomr, glitterprincess, hamtarofr, Heck, Jwigg33, Kaladin, Krewger, Legend_Entomber, libertyprime, Maukiepaukie, PandarenHero, randjob, s2mikey, SchruteBucks, The_Giratina, TheWamts, ticandtac, tictactucroc, tsudecimo, WaffleMonstr
I think new a system like:
500 wins = golden hero
1000 wins = new skin
1500 wins = new skin golden
2000 wins = new skin
...
would be better than just borders.

"What have you got there,
PinocchioMalygos?"Because the golden colour is a classic symbol in hearthstone, but I don't think most part of the community agrees with me anyway.

Please no, I hate that I'm forced to play ranked.
