Paladin has an early game so bad every viable paladin deck in standard has completely punted it. We got very little early game in Ungoro and it does not synergise with this quest. We have no sticky minions, understated minions and a dire lack of early game options. Now you want me to give up a card and turn 1 to play a quest. So as a paladin who is the worst class at tempo I am now behind. Then I have to play 8-10 buff cards to get 6 before any game is over. So I am highly susceptible to dead hands especially since I have horrible card draw. So now I have to play neutral or understated minions onto the board and hope they survive. My opponent sees the quest so they know I need minions to buff. If they are aggro they kill me due to my complete lack of tempo. Any other deck uses the board advantage I handed it to kill my minions. So i have to hero power which is awful and then play undervalued buff cards which are even worse because they are costed as though they have charge and they won't. I do all that to play a minion who will be the only win condition in my deck and does NOTHING the turn he is played. That minion is the only quest that can be removed from the game before it does ANYTHING. Twisting nether, devolve AND Hex unless lucky, volcano unless behind, frost nova doomsayer which I will have nothing to counter with no keeper, shadowflame a giant. and on and on. Then the card is binary opponent no answer you win answer gg.
They design paladin under the assumption your opponent does nothing. Every paladin card is win more. You have to have a board to really use it and you have no tools to keep a board. The cards have in ungoro have no synergy with anything Paladin did before. Play a buff deck only none of the handbuff counts so that is dead. Handbuff needs minions in hand so your alley cat is a spell. That also means you can't use small time recruits one of the few draw options you have left. Tarim is great at buffing weenies and if you have a board. Too bad Paladin can not maintain a board and is all about buffs that Tarim will counter. I very much hope Paladin is at Karazhan priest levels of power in this expansion. The class has been fundamentally broken since standard but it was just good enough that Blizzard could ignore it. Oh Priest is worse and now hunter is worse ignore the fact the only viable Paladin deck for a year was a tier 3 combo deck reliant on one 10 mana card because otherwise Paladin has no win condition.
Before you come to me and say ''you should wait for them to release every card before making conclusions'', keep in mind that I'm done getting my hopes up with Blizzard, they clearly have no idea how to design cards for Paladin.
Since secret paladin era paladin got nothing, played secret paladin now.. it's garbage compared to reno decks and such.. really paladin need GOOD 2 drops they got a decent one in ungoru now they need another one, also a 3 drop.. aswell .. maybe bring back muster for battle???? Paladin needs such a card
. .. rotate out blessing of champions and get MFB in standard.. it's not that strong as it used to be and it's something paladin got since it was trash since vanilla..
And was trash since wotog.. was only tier 1 for 8 months

If Blizzard is still punishing Paladin for those 8 months they must be insane, Pally has been trash for a whole year now and was trash before GvG. We deserve better.
Well, we have seen 7 out of 10 paladin cards so far.
Just look at a card like Lightfused Stegodon and compare it with Gentle Megasaur . You can clearly see that something is wrong up there ! (Murlocs are cheaper and have better stats than your heropower+better stats on the NEUTRAL!! minion)
In general you dont wanna play many buff cards cause they only add stuff to your existing stuff and existing stuff is needed to survive early game, or to pressure a super slow deck like JadeDruid. So if you make a quest around buffing stuff you have to come up with sticky dudes AND a lot of viable cheap buff cards (Dinosize Kappa). If you could pull this of constantly you very likely win without the questreward btw.
No worries, next exp they will make mysterious challenger v2.0 because 2 year will pass since we got him so they will hope people already forgot about him 4Head
OOPS,sorry ive replied to the wrong guy.But all i was saying is that after drakonid was tier 1 and not tier 2 deck to the guy that called the deck tier 2.Hope it makes sense.
I'm really, really miss old beloved CONTROL Palladin. Best days were and most balanced imo for this class, were we had nice early drops (besides broken mid game Piloted Shredder). Cards like Shielded Minibot and especially Muster for Battle should be in classic set for Pally + ewentually Quartermaster. Some early answers with potencial combo late game. This was one from most fun and strategy wise control decks, sadly destroyed after idiotic nobrainer cards went in (ekhm Mysterious Challenger ekhm) and standard went in -_-
Hope CONTROL Pally will back in glory, maybe after next year waiting...
Well Paladin got its time as OP back with secrets paladin from summer 2015 to spring 2016, but really Paladin was only good back then because of its line-up. Shielded minibot into Mustard for battle was great. Why is Shaman so good right now? A turn 1 1/3 that becomes a 2/3 when you put down a 3/4 next turn. Why has Warrior been good forever? Firey Win Axe lets you control the board for 2 turns with no drawback. The dominant deck is always the one that picks up steam first and keeps the ball rolling, it's just that most neutral 1 drops suck (look what happened to Undertaker, he was too good and was killed off) so only the classes with good one drops dominate the meta until they lose them.
Dragon Priest tier 2 when it was nearly in every tournie and/or championship.Makes sense.DAH
What. Dragon Priest was not tier 2 before those two cards.
Regardless, the same could be said about Secret Paladin. It just took a few good cards with synergy to make what is still a strong midrange deck.
Dragon Priest was severely underrated in the ONiK meta, and I'd argue it was at least low Tier 2 prior to Talonpriest and Operative once it gained Netherspite Historian. It just wasn't worth running over Midrange Shaman, which changed with Mean Streets when it became essentially just under Tier 1 levels of powerful and Midrange Shaman isn't absurdly better than it.
Personally I think Paladin is looking pretty good with this set. Maybe buffs are too clunky to work, but I'm actually pretty convinced we're going to see a list that's comparable to the old Midrange Paladin in power and Galvadon is great even if it's just a big dude (if you're going to have just a big dude, having him be the biggest big dude is still good). Considering how much tech we're getting against hyper-aggressive decks that could be a very good thing. :)

It does indeed seem like paladin is the trash can for card ideas which were scrapped from other classes.
You have seen fewer than half the Ungoro cards. How are you able to say what you are getting?
"I have not faith in Blizzard." means you should stop posting and play something else.
Paladin didn't get cards that are obviously strong (yet) = Blizzard has no idea what to do with Paladin.
Welcome to Rogue/Priest. Give Paladins interesting but not overpowered tools, let them figure out how to use them.

it has been like this for every expansion so far, why would this one be different?
