What's the point of such posts? Everyone shows off and speaks for himself and makes people who can't afford to buy with cash packs, or f2p feel bad. And noone reads and cares how much everyone has.
I read through them because it's pretty interesting to see the average amount of gold and the different mindsets people have about saving gold.
I've got 2700 gold saved up plus I preordered, plus got the 4 free ones, so I'm up to 80 packs. My kids like to open them and it releases on my son's birthday, so I'll probably them do the opening.
And then I've got about 3k dust saved up. Should have around 7-8k by the time I get my HoF refunds and dust duplicates.
I used to just do FtP but I'm too impatient. Once I decided I liked the game enough to keep playing it, it was an easy decision to start paying. I was willing to pay $10-$15/month to play EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, World of Warcraft, and Warhammer. That works out to around $120-$180/year depending on the service. Don't see Hearthstone as being really any different. I guess the $50 doesn't guarantee you "all" the content, but I don't want or need "all" the content, I just need all the commons, most of the rares, and a few legendaries and epics to make some decks and I'm off and running.
I don't think I've ever bought any classic cards and I almost have almost a full set. Just need 13 epics (which are all second copies), 13 legendaries (mostly ones I don't care about) and 7 rares (also second copies). Got that entirely from Quest and win gold, I don't play arena.
50 packs + 4-5 packs from login / tournament rewards + at least 50 packs from my current gold + 3,200 dust from Syl & Rag + usually more or less 2,000 dust from dusting the duplicates.
I generally do the preorder and then end up buying another 40-60 packs because I love packs. With this set having multiple decks I'm really excited for I'm considering upping that, because I really want both Warlock/Paladin/Hunter Legendaries and a bunch of the epics.

I have 54 waiting from the pre-order and brawls/log in rewards.
I have 1.7k gold sitting around, might be 1.8 or 1.9 be the end of the day which will be packs also.
Might get another $20 worth in a week or so, not sure depends on what I open up.
I saved gold enough to enter arena 30 times I don't know how many pack I will get. I like making decks with hard earned cards
54 packs right now, plus 4k gold. I might open a couple of older packs but all I need is epics and Leggies so it might be better just crafting.

No shame in paying for packs.
Preorder + ~70 packs from gold
50 packs + 4-5 packs from login / tournament rewards + at least 50 packs from my current gold + 3,200 dust from Syl & Rag + usually more or less 2,000 dust from dusting the duplicates.
I'm f2p for the last year but have 9400 gold so about 85-90 packs feels pretty solid of a number
Nightblade Argent Lance Flame Imp
Argent Watchman Argent Squire Frost Giant
Aviana Hogger Snipe Sea Giant
I have 3100 gold (31 pack) + 5 free pack
100 packs then as many as needed to reach Legendary pity timer (knowing my luck that'll mean 120 packs in total and 3 legendaries total :)
Ibn Fahd.
5 free packs + ~25 for gold, and some dust for golden ragg and common sylwana)
I generally do the preorder and then end up buying another 40-60 packs because I love packs. With this set having multiple decks I'm really excited for I'm considering upping that, because I really want both Warlock/Paladin/Hunter Legendaries and a bunch of the epics.

I should have the dust I need to pick up some of the other things I'd need to start building hopefully.

I will open around 70 packs, from gold and the 5 we have gotten through brawl and login rewards.
It really dosen't matter tho, i have a little more than 80K dust. So i will have everything i need the second i need it :P
I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,
