So I've read and heard the same thing about climbing the ladder:
Keep playing the same deck and don't stop regardless of outcome.
Well, how long is too long when you keep losing and it's time to change the deck or class to play?
Odd question to ask I'm sure but sitting at a 40% win rate and going no where fast up the ladder, almost backwards; when do you throw in the towel and change classes?
I'm British, so the BBC puts on a lot of shows, but I find girls on the internet that say they want that aren't interested in nature documentaries with David Attenborough???
I see that this thread is going a bit off-topic but I'll let it be in the hope that we'll still get some constructive advice to OP's question. But I agree that the thread title can be a bit ambiguous.
I think it really depends on what you're running into most. If youre playing miracle and just run into jade shaman, maybe switch to a counter, not that there really is one since shaman was buffed to godlike mode.
Who ever told you play one deck over and over to climb is giving bad advice.
Yes, learning a small number of decks very well and switching occasionally as the meta varies is better than using lots of decks and switching all the time. But one deck only is a bad idea particularly if the meta isn't good for that deck.
My advice for climbing the ladder is find 2-3 decks that are strong in the general meta and work for your style of play.
Learn these 3 or so decks very well and how to adjust your style for the class your facing
Make sure the decks have enough variety to be able to adjust to different daily metas.
Then track you wins and losses of the deck archetypes your facing, using something like Track-o-Bot.
Compare win rates of your decks against what you are currently facing in the meta.
Then when you are on a losing streak take a break so you don't go on tilt. And change to a deck that has better win rates to what you have been facing to counter the current meta.
Also don't be afraid to tech in certain cards like ooze to counter pirate warrior if you are seeing lots of that for example. And keep deck lists changing slightly as metas evolve.
I personally spreadsheet out my win-lose ratios to help me pick the best deck for the meta I'm personally seeing, this is probably a bit hardcore for most people.
OP - you can continue to play the same deck, but make adjustments based on what you're seeing, and if that still doesn't work out, review your games and see if you're making mistakes anywhere. If that's still not fixing things, then I'd change to something better. What are you running?

When you stop having fun
You should change if you're on a losing streak (3 or 5 losses depending on preference).
I once got a business card handed to me by a guy called Long Wang though, which is relevant to this topic.
I hope he went over his credentials with you in great length mungo :)
No, he left that to his brothers, Short and Longer.
If we are being honest anything more than 7-8 inches is purely for show.

as long as you are having fun winrate don't matter
