So, in another 130 card expac, we can probably assume there will be 7 legendaries worth having - and only half of those will be "must haves." Go get the dust and stop complaining.
F2P doesn't mean "should have every card."
14 must have legendary is must have unless you plan to lose in mirror match.
and if filler card exits. the more dust you need to spend to craft them. ie: get 5 trash legendary from 100 f2p pack.
The problem is not only that. The must have legendaries , based of usefullnes will be around 5-6. The question is that if you have one redilect class you must have at least 2 legendaries, instead of one. and if that repeats in every expansion, this year we will have 6 legendaries for each class to have. Some will be good and some bad. But las t year it was only 2 legendaries.
Example: in year of the Kraken, i as a player have Mage as predilect class, not only to play but for i like the playstyle and the rpg component of play a mage. the 2 legendaries were Anomalus and Solia. i dont have anomalus and can get rid of him but Solia if not a must have is a playable legendarie. This year could be 3 minion legs and 3 "Quest" legs only if have are playable ( not even must have) ill have to craft ( or get lucky at packs) at least 3. and posibly the quest all will be playable, or in standar or in will. ( the one we know, of priest, could be playable in standar but will be sure great in Wild) Most people will want the quest as they are cards taht you build your deck around.
im a f2p and still dont have aya or patches cuz i dont play shaman and druid. also i have all expensive control decks. if u want all the cards as a f2p with 3 exp this year its impossible
I just hope no filler legendary in this expansion.
I use in games gold buy 70 pack in Msg. Get all the filler legendary and epic. Need dust all to craft the key legendary. Aya, kazakus, patch etc. Really waste of dust. Now, I have zero dust for next expansion.

That's literally backwards thinking. The fewer filler legends there are (meaning more good legendaries), the more legendaries you have to craft to play meta decks. The more crap legends there are, the less dust you need to craft the good ones from a given expansion.
longtime-f2p player here. i accepted before the launch of gadgetzan that i have no way of keeping up with standard, it takes around 2 months to get the basics i need (the 3 must-have-legendaries and some epics), even with an 5+ average in arena. so i switched to wild for that time...i have the core to play it, and the changes in the decks aren't that drastic (with deathlord etc teching against the pirates is far easier). this season i'll be playing standard. with the 3-expansion-schedule and more (mainly class-)legendaries i might have to switch to wild permanently though...
I think the removal of great classic cards to the hall of fame is more indicative of a pay to win attitude specifically rag, sync and azure drake. These are cards most players already crafted because they were supposed to be permanent. Now everyone will have to find replacements in new expansions

But you get free dust to craft the replacements AND you get to keep the cards, so I hardly think $$$ was the reason why Blizzard moved them to Wild.

But the 3 must have legendaries (Aya,Kazakus, Patches) are all for differrent decks - Jade, Kabal, pirates. To have one viable deck you need only one legendary for each
I'm sort of a P2L player (that's 'Pay to Lose'). I probably spend around or upwards of $300 per year on Hearthstone. I have a lot of fun playing the game, but I don't give a flying crap about being top legend or even ranking up! I just like collecting cards and then using them to make cool and unique decks. As such, I really can't stand arena, and thus don't build my collection that way (because I can't play with it!). So I buy a lot of packs. I think that this new expansion model (3 per year), and new ideas like 2 legendaries per class, hurt people in my boat the most (the whales).
They are essentially asking us to up our investment in the game by 33% going forward, all the while making the negative feelings associated with not having all the cards even more poignant, since there are now more of the cursed legendaries to collect. I don't see this as a win for Blizzard. At the $300/year mark, I have already quit this game twice in three years because I felt like I wasn't really getting anything worthwhile for my money (Buy 60 packs for $70 and then get only 2 'filler' legendaries and practically no gold or epic cards, and you'll quickly experience the negative emotions I'm referring to). If they expect folks like me to step up to $450/year while still keeping the legendary drop rates as low as they are, I think that they risk losing a lot of us permanently.

No. It's indicative of trying to create a healthier standard metagame.
someone pay to play. $40 per month etc also need take 3-4 month to complete the collection. Trash card & filler card.
f2p can only play 1-2 viable deck every expansion.and most of them are aggro deck. Even you play Reno deck. You also auto loses vs pay player. They put extra 3 legendary to out value you. They don't care about aggro match up and open salt threads when loses. It very painful when f2p play control deck. Always loses to greedy version of mirror deck.

That's not even true, unless you are a stupid f2p player. Or brand new.
If you've been f2p since the beginning, you should have rag, leeryoy, bloodmage, and sylv. They have been staple legendaries since the begining of the game. if you have reno, you should have brann. what magical legendary are you missing?
If you're brand new, get over it. Not everyone gets a trophy like in your grade school soccer league.
If the game say it's free to play the game is free to play. That given, there is no rule that prevents the developers to give the option to pay for more content to the players. Now if u decide not to spend cash for content that is your own given right but you have no right at all to complain if someone decides otherwise. The game is free to play since you didn't paid money to play the game and paying for more content is not a must. And we all know that you don't need all the cards to be competitive at highest lvl. So if you want to whine you have no right to tell that blizzard just wants to milk us for more money. If they did wanted to, the free to play option wouldn't have existed at all, so please, be happy you can play the game for free.

Free 2 Play is not determined by expansions.
It's determined by the meta.
If you can craft STB and Patches, you can make rank 5 (or better) which is phenomenal for a F2P account.
Spend some money.......
Don't worry, 75% of legendaries will be useless gimmicky ones which you won't need.
Dead but dreaming
I currently have 48625 dust for such an occasion, and i ensured i had my golden sylvanas and rag for the 3200 dust each free :)
