well i know that the rotation thingy was necessary to keep the game going..
but i am a free to play player (100% never spent a penny) and i've come to collect such a large collection..
from constantly playing the arena back in the days when gvg was just released, acquiring almost all the cards except legendaries and some useless epics..
in other words i grinded my ass off to get my collection, and i am just sad to see it unused , with standard being the official face of the game (even arena now is going to be standard)
i am starting to forget those cards even exsist, outside of some tavern brawls and a few wacky wild decks i dont even see them..
i know some of you will come here screaming just play wild, but thats not my point ..wild is largely abandoned by the devs and its more frustrating(much more) to play the game in it.. and apparently instead of nerfing card they'll start moving them to wild..like it's the game's dumb.
i dont know but a dust refund (like for those hall of fame cards) would be nice , or anything to make me feel less burned by my massive dead collection
If you never spent a penny then how could you have been burned? The only investment you have is the time playing the game, and I think the hours of entertainment you got from playing the game more than offset any loss you may be suffering because cards are rotating out.
We've recently heard a couple of whispers that TPTB might actually start caring about Wild a little more. Blizzard is apparently going to start encouraging Wild tournaments and they're offering us full gold trade-in value for the soon-to-be Wild only Hall of Fame cards. The latter being their way of nudging us into playing more Wild if perhaps you want to continue playing with Sylvanas, for example.
That said, I won't be fully convinced they really are embracing Wild until I actually see an attempt to balance some of the cards.
On the other hand, I would hate it if they gave any sort of bonus dust refund for cards that are just being rotated out. That would be the death knell for Wild.
And yes, let me be the first of many to encourage you to play Wild. If enough of us make the switch (and I mostly already have) then they won't be able to ignore Wild as much.

Time is much more precious than money. Money could be replenished quite quick through labour and trade. But you can't do the same to time. There is no way money could buy you time.
Since a f2p player invests only their time in the game, they are paying with their most precious treasure. In other words, f2p players are actually playing the game the expensive way. Thus, when it comes to format rotation, f2p players should be more upset than paid players. Because they are losing more.
I would recommend people to buy adventures if they can. Because that is the less "expensive" way to enjoy the game.

Considering the miserable state of nowaday's ladder I'd consider time spent playing in it to be worth a much much much bigger reward than just buying packs with real money.
Feel free to point out the last balance updates made to better Wild as a game mode. Oh look, there's none.
And if that was true, that means you think Wild is worse than Standard. So why exactly do you want Standard to have all the cards and be like Wild, since it's "much more frustrating" to play the game in it as you claimed ?
Because then they'd be forced to tack on the problems instead of caring only about standard while pretending to give a damn about Wild.

It is time invested in a Hobby, though. The 'work' required to get the cards is playing the game, which is (hopefully) entertaining. If he isn't going to play wild, he could always DE all the wild cards. Furthermore, I haven't bought packs since GVG (Well, one batch of 15 TGT) and never feel like I am making gold too slow. I saved up about 5k gold for MSOG because I knew it was coming, and I am doing the same thing for the Un'Goro expansion, already over 1k. Just doing daily quests is plenty to get most meta-defining cards from dust if you plan ahead for each expansion, as well as a decent amount of fun ones.
In the end, Complete F2P players can get almost everything they want with some forethought, and are getting hundreds, even thousands, of hours of entertainment for free. It honestly feels more rewarding to earn the cards without paying cash, which is why I haven't in so long. In the end, I think it's rather petty to complain when the model HS uses is far from greedy, and perhaps one of the best F2P models I've ever seen.
i grinded my ass off to get my collection, and i am just sad to see it unused
You are responsible for your own sadness. Play Wild and it won't be unused.
Cut the crap about "standard being the official format" it does not matter at all, it does not change anything. You don't get less gold and end of month rewards for playing Wild instead of Standard.
So either you play standard and you're okay with, or you play Wild and get to enjoy the things you want to enjoy.
You're given the option to do exactly what you want, and you won't take it.
i know some of you will come here screaming just play wild, but thats not my point
Yes it is 100%.
wild is largely abandoned by the devs and its more frustrating(much more) to play the game in it

have your actually read my post ? blizzard doesn't care about wild, they left it unchecked, unbalanced, and its not fun to play the game in, so how am i suppose to use my collection in the dead format that wild is.

Wrong, Wild is much, much more, balanced than Standard, if you wanna play Hunter for example, you have a chance in Wild, in Standard you can concede in start of the game to save your time, you want play a non Miracle rogue? In Wild you have Healbot and others tools to stop aggro and face decks, in Standard? Give up, face decks will kill you in turn 5 or 6 and don't have anything you can do about it.
Really, try Wild and maybe you never think about Standard again.
Sorry mate, noone will be sorry for you here. You make your own choices. If you want to keep a big collection of cards just for an odd Tavern Brawl, it's up to you. You had your fun with those cards, you can dust them anyway.
But stop complaining about Wild. There's a lot of people who consider it more fun than Standard.

That would be true if the time spent was harsh. But it's not. Following that logic, playing ANY game makes you invest your most precious treasure. Well, no. You play because you want to, you play because you find the game fun, you play because you want to challenge yourself. Anyone suggesting the time spent on Hearthstone is a harsh grind just means they're not enjoying the game as much as they would want to, and should stop playing altogether. He is a F2P: he literally didn't spend anything for what he has, he has no right whatsoever to complain about part of it being moved to another "section" of the game that he is absolutely free to join if he wants to, but apparently doesn't. That's called being entitled, something far too many players are nowadays.
The only thing Blizzard need to do to support Wild is to nerf cards that overperform there. They can leave the OP stuff in while the cards are still in Standard, but once they rotate Blizzard should make sure that they don't dominate the Wild meta. N'Zoth for example should definitely be nerfed once it rotates out since it'll become grossly OP as more deathrattle cards are released.
Once that happens I don't see why anyone wouldn't feel comfortable playing Wild, unless you aim for tournament Standard play.
i grinded my ass off to get my collection, and i am just sad to see it unused

This is precisely why it is called "Wild" though...? They intentionally left it to be unbalanced and unchecked. That is the whole reason that Standard exists - so they don't have to try and balance and maintain an ever increasing pool of cards...
If you never spent a penny then how could you have been burned? The only investment you have is the time playing the game, and I think the hours of entertainment you got from playing the game more than offset any loss you may be suffering because cards are rotating out.

Hang on, so playing the game isn't bringing you enjoyment? I don't enjoy going to work but I do enjoy playing hearthstone, f2p players are getting a game they enjoy playing for free. There isn't a time investment they play because they want to. I and most other people (footballers aside) work because they have to.
We've recently heard a couple of whispers that TPTB might actually start caring about Wild a little more. Blizzard is apparently going to start encouraging Wild tournaments and they're offering us full gold trade-in value for the soon-to-be Wild only Hall of Fame cards.
One thing contradicts the other... They say that to make people less unhappy but they do the opposite of caring about the wild at the same time - Hall of Fame!
They said cards are problematic for Standard yet they just pushed them in their dump Wild where they even pose bigger problems. For example Deathrattle decks are more powerful there cos of Deathlord, Belcher, Shredder etc. - they said they will rotate Sylvanas out of Standard cos it has too powerful deathrattle which will pose problem cos they will do something with deathrattle effect. Well in Wild it will be only bigger problem if anything. They said they want people to use other 8 drops so they rotated problematic Rag? Not in wild apparently. They said they don't want OTK combos, so they rotate Ice Lance? Even bigger problem in Wild since Freeze Mage is actually strong there cos of Scientists. And the list continues.
So even tho they say they care about it, they do exact opposite and it's just a fairy tale like before to make Wild players feel like it would matter. They didn't even want it to be ranked mode at 1st, they don't allow you to buy packs/adventures for it, they don't even reward points for making legend there, and now Hall of Fame is spit directly in Wild's face just proves this further.
Wild was not supposed to be a balanced mode and I'm pretty after a couple more sets it will even be impossible to balance it without destroying a fair amount of cards and old fan-favorite decks.
I usually play solely to garner gold and have a sub-limit of 3,000g at any one time. Any gold over that amount is free for me to use for packs or Arena as I see fit.
Then, when an expansion or adventure comes out, I have loads of gold to spend on packs and adventure wings etc.
This way I virtually never have to spend a penny on the game and find that I can stay ahead of the curve on any new expansions that come out.
(I'm currently at 2,500g after splurging on 40 packs of MSoG in January)
Well I prefer to keep the wild cards since I do like the option to make insane decks (and as a completionist, I find it hard to even dust duplicates sometimes! Lol)
Dude i am free to play too! The game its free and they need to make money!!! SO there is 2 options:
Option 1 : DO what i am doing! save gold till something new comes and you ll be able to have the amount of gold to buy it (ave 50g per day its 1500 per month) blizzard realese something every 3-4 months so u can have a lot of gold to buy it! Dust all the wild cards and cards that you never play with(include legendaries) and make 3-4 good decks for Standar! I play a lot rogue shaman warrior and druid and i have all the good decks for that classes! I dust all priest -mage- warlock-paladin cards because i never play with them coz i dont like them at all or i dont have cards from some advetures!
Option 2 : Spend money and stop cry about p2p if you want to play ALL the decks ALL the classes without spend any money!
ATM i have 7k dust and 2k gold (i hit rank 5 every month just for the rewards ) and i am wating for next expansion! I thing when new expansions will come i ll have like more than 3k gold(30packs) and i ll dust all wild cards so i ll have like 9k dust + all the free dust from the cards that move to Hall of Fame!!! I thing i pretty dam good right now! i ll open 30 packs and i ll craft what i need and then i save again till next expansion! if you want to be a free to play player do this otherwise spend money and play all the decks that you want and keep all the cards and keep spending money !
wtf are you talking about ? i didn't complain about the game being p2w, i said i collected almost all the cards without paying a single penny , so my collection is kinda more precious and hard earned than people who just invest hundreds of dollars into the game!!!
