I won't lie, Brode's vague comments on regular content (like mini-expansions of a handful of cards regularly) has me stoked we might be getting some. I don't think there needs to be huge metashifts, but I'm a firm believer something like a promo set every couple of months would be enough to take the edge off of solved metas while people tinkered with the new cards.

I'm hoping so too, promo sets a bit more often than expansions would be pretty awesome (even if it's just a few cards, say 1 per class and a couple neutrals). I'm getting irrationally excited about the announcements of announcements. They get me every time XD

I really hope that they will introduce ''small expansions'' in the future :/ Just getting 1 or 2 cards for each class and a bit of neutrals to shake up the game and experiment with, could make the game a lot more enjoyable - I'd willingly pay 3k gold for something like that, and I'm f2p so that says a lot :P
Death Knight will probably happen... some day. Hopefully. Maybe with Monk/Demon Hunter alongside it.
...a man can dream.
They've stated that it's not even on their radar to work on new classses as it's hard enough keeping the current ones balanced. Usually once something hits their radar it's 6 month- 2 years away :\

That's true, and I don't know that I can blame them for delaying it either since there still seems to be some stuff they can mine design-wise with the existing 9 classes. And there's stuff like ladder design and the competitive circuit they're still adjusting every year, alongside a Standard/Wild design they're clearly still wanting to iterate on, alongside making cards and balancing the existing classes... so I don't hold out high hopes we'll see the idea visited for quite awhile.
Overall I'd definitely lump it in as a dream item on the wishlist, Death Knights are just too sweet not to want in the game. I don't expect HS to go anywhere for the next 10 years (at this rate anyway) so I feel pretty hopeful we'll see new classes eventually.

In ESL, every season has a new epic card as a reward.
Its not really big enough to shake up a meta (except Hist Grove, that card was insane) because its one card at a time, but at least every month everyone has some experimenting to do.

Start of Year: Provoke the failure of 3 expansions, force nerfs on otherwise balanced cards, bring deckbuilding to an all-time low and get rotated one year earlier for being such a threat to the game's health. - Genn and Baku's historical entry on the White Book of Shit Design, shortly before retiring unpunished

The only issue I take with this and Eternal's approach to it is that you have a short time to grab the playset before they become a burden on crafting costs. I'm not sure how quite to fix that unfortunately though, I just know getting into ESL after hearing about Hist Grove it gave me the case of the feel bads. If every release was something fringe playable or easy to craft though maybe it doesn't feel as bad to fall behind (imagine Purify as a monthly card for instance)... I dunno, seems kind of minor on paper but from a new player perspective I could see why those two systems are a bit tricky to implement.
That being said, about to get my 4th set of this months Eternal promos and I love the idea in every other respect.

I've been getting back into ESL recently, and getting the cards you've missed is a bit daunting. But I guess it is still much easier than, for instance, a new hearthstone player trying to get into wild XD that would be a nightmare of crafting costs.

Also they need to increase the rewards for the end of season. A pack and 3-4 cards? Why not increase the packs too? Like Rank 1-5 5 packs, 6-10 4 packs etc..

Back in the day we used to get NOTHING at the end of each season. I agree that once you get past a certain rank (say rank 10?) that there should be a second pack though. I doubt Blizzard would ever do anything as drastic as giving out 5 free packs to people rank 1-5 as they're in the business of making money.

when did brode mention minion expansions?
I don't remember exactly when, but I also recall hearing an interview with him where he states that they are looking into doing smaller expansions with a higher frequency. If it's making it into interviews it's safe to say that well will see something like it in the next year or two.

There was a Polygon interview a few days ago, here's the snippet where it's hinted at;
"At BlizzCon, I was told you were looking at what you wanted to do in 2017, and you were looking at what the best idea for a release schedule would be. In 2016, you did an expansion, an adventure and then another expansion. One of the things that was brought up at BlizzCon was the idea of smaller drops of cards, like a smaller drop every month or something like that. Have you settled on the release cycle for 2017 yet?
Brode: We have some cool ideas on that, but we’re not ready to share the specifics. We will be ready to share that over the next couple months. Stay tuned for some announcements in that direction."
So it's vague, but at least my perception was they're entertaining some idea in that direction. Could be PR fluff, but I feel like if they really wanted to stick with Expansion > Adventure > Expansion he'd have just said they were going to continue with that pattern for 2017 and not bother alluding to any other plans.

Atm I feel like the supply isnt living up to the demand I am craving. We need new content :D
Some new heroes for purchase would be nice :3

For the love of god can we please can new Heroes for the ones that haven't gotten any yet!
Also, Would LOOOVE to see a Death Knight class. Before you say anything, yes I know that will probably never happen.
I agree though that we need new content, even if it's smaller doses more frequently.

monthly boosters would be awesome. they can actually solve problems in the meta without having to wait 4 months or resorting to nerfs.

Small sales like, craftin this particular card for 80% off only for this day,
mini expansions, every 1-2 months
more events
More achievements with more rewards, give us something to grind, and a table where we can see all our achievements
Something more for a single player
Death Knight class
Ulduar adventure
Icecrown Cidatel adventure/Northrend expansion
Titans' related expansion

Most free packs end up giving me 40 dust - so you need 40 packs to craft a legendary - Blizzard could be more generous with rewards
