Yup, unles they nerf some other cards and CONTROL SHALL RISE AGAIN. But they won't do they, in secret the whole of blizzard development team are retarded braindead aggro players.

Not to mention, the only card that Aggro Pirate Warrior loses with the next rotation is Sir Finley. Reno decks - the decks that are strongest against it to keep it in check - lose...well, Reno. So....unless the next expansion brings control/highlander decks some good tools, it's not going to get any better.

No one wants to play Hearthstone: Control Edition m8.

and why not? do you like to play games which last 3 minutes and play your aggro braindead curve? that are not the games i like to play atleast. i want to think about some turns and dont just smash butttons. but it seems like blizzard is on the same route as the aggro donks. they dont want this to be an enjoyable, thinking, fun game. they just want it as it is the whole last 2 years. aggro invested clown fiesta. but its in their hands what happens to the game.

Hearthstone isn't deep enough to draw a big enough audience if it goes full control. The game's strategic depth does not go much further than face or trade even in a control matchup, despite what reddit memers want to say.

Pirate nerf will mainly induce salt in players who crafted Patches, as Patches won't be nerfed, thus no dust refund.
I vaguely recall Brode mentioning a nerf to both STB and Patches, but I could be mistaken.
In any case, it depends on what the nerf is. A simple nerf to StB isn't going to be too detrimental as it's a small change at best. And Rogue Pirate is still insane (if they don't nerf patches)
Shaman wouldn't be too good because when the pirates eventually do get nerfed it would be close to the next standard year and Shaman will loose most of the stuff that makes midrange and aggro so powerful.
The biggest problem is Jade druid. Hunter of Pally would need to get some decent aggro/midrange cards in the next set. Cards that are powerful enough to beat jade druid and weak enough to loose to some control decks.
Poker says hi. Accessible to learn and play doesn't really constitute a limitation on depth. I don't think anyone's arguing we're playing Go or Chess, but even the whole "trade/face" concept is something you can go pretty deep with.

Seriously, nothing about stupid op dragontrashes? So, let's kill pirates, and force everyone to go full retard with the kurva dragofucker priest? Wp
While I agree that Dragon Priest is extremely strong and frustrating to play against - I do not believe that Blizzard sees this as a Problem, neither do I, since a TON of dragon related cards are going to rotate out pretty soon and Priest as a class never really had its time to shine ever before...
That's basically the crux of the issue; Dragons are going somewhere in the Spring, and if they're strong for a bit then it's just how the cookie crumbled this time. Dragon Warrior is also going, and RIP Dragon Paladin (which I don't believe has ever really worked). Pirates on the other hand are here for 2 years essentially, and I think that's why most people are concerned that the face of Aggro is going to be STB/Patches for longer than it should; I do think STB/Patches should be strong in something like Pirate decks, but a toning down would help to at least let something like Hunter have some breathing room.

I'd say to actually change something they should Nerv more cards or Aggro shaman will just take PWs spot and the meta will still be Aggro dominated. Those 2 decks are too strong. If they slow them down then other Aggro Decks with "OK"-speed might return, like hunter or discard lock... I'm fine with Aggro, but AS and PW are simply to strong and at the same time easy to play...
i hope they Nerv:
- STB to 1 point attack bonus
- Trog up to 2 mana (even if it's leaving standard... but this will happen far in the future and in wild it will be a card that's too strong)
- spirit claws durability down to 2
- fiery war axe up to 3 mana
- goblin auctioneer moved to rogue class cards (this helps with jade Druid and it belongs there anyways --> easy solution)
Good ideas. Wild should be playable also, not a jungle. But Fiery War Axe should stay as it is.

I expect another dozen classic/basic cards to get the nerf. This happened last year to keep the meta fresh. Expect Warrior and shaman to be hit especially hard this balance pass. STB will either be 2/2 or 3/1 with a weapon. Doubt they will touch Trogg, but I expect spirit claws to get some sort of nerf. Flametongue/hex are also candidates for nerfs by +1 mana. Fiery war axe is super broken and will still be strong at 3 mana and that nerf must happen or pirate warrior will still dominate the meta and lots of people will quit. Auctioneer might become a 4/2 so it probably never sticks around.

Have a look at this,he clearly stated that if they ever nerf Pirates it'll be STB to be changed and not Patches....

I didn't have a signature so Flux added one for me.
The meta would become a midrange fest again.
