Every single time I get on HearthPwn, I always see threads about nerfing basically every card/deck that's viable in the current meta. People create those threads because they're salty about losing to those decks, and it's kind of ridiculous. People call for nerfs on powerful, but completely balanced cards. People, stop trying to drive every viable deck into the ground just because you can't win 100% of the time against them.
How ironic of you creating a thread to complain about complaining threads. Let them voice their opinion you censoring sheep.
Oooooh edgy, calling people sheep when they voice an opposing view. They're not really stopping anyone from posting, so in a sense this is easily as legitimate as "OMG NERF CARD PLZ".
@Venomwolf4300; I get the frustrations with nerf threads, but I don't think they're necessarily bad. It IS ridiculous to not be able to go a week without a mob organizing around the design of a card that does a thing they don't like, but the surrounding discussion isn't a terrible thing. When people actually bring logical reasoning to the table it's actually quite positive to have discussions about opposing viewpoints.
I agree. I am sick of people calling for nerfs. Losing to a reno is just as annoying as losing to aggro. And as a miracle player, losing to miracle when I am trying to play a fun deck is just as annoying as losing to aggro or reno. Removing cards and archetypes from the game isn't going to make the game more fresh or less frustrating when you lose.
You people need to learn that losing is part of the game and decks you think are braindead might take a bit more skill than you think. Heck, instead of making another nerf thread. Consider the fact that maybe you lost because you are actually a bad player instead, and your legend netdeck is only legend worthy in other hands. Maybe you should make your own deck for the match ups you hate? The tools are in the game to beat almost anything, you just have to accept the fact that it can't beat everything.
I don't think discussions are bad, but when people talk about nerfing cards like Edwin without taking in the numerous downsides of going all in on edwin or the many cards and decks that can simply punish him. It becomes more about whining rather than having productive and helpful outcomes.
Now that we finally have a reasonably balanced meta, no one can win any argument asking for nerfs for the new cards ... so now people are picking on Azure Drake?! Seriously, wtf.
This is proof that it will never, ever end because most of the people playing this game have no idea how games work.

Nerf threads aren't about winning or losing. They're saying that a card is too powerful for its cost, plain as that. Too powerful means unbalanced. Nerf threads are about game balancing. How is that not an appropriate topic for this forum?
I get it - a certain percentage of CCG players are happy to leave every thought of game design to the designers, to whom they bow. "Take what you are given" mentality. Blech.

I think the issue comes from the fact generally it's based on "feels bad" than actual reasoning. Not saying it's not appropriate or that the topics started should be deleted, but unfortunately it usually DOES boil down to winning/losing or a their own personal feelings about "how this game is really supposed to be". Now I get the Midrange Shaman threads at the end of the ONiK cycle because we had numbers and we could see the impact of the deck's power in every layer of the competitive scene; you could legitimately make arguments and back them up, and actual discussion could be had. Nerfing Jade Idol because it "killed" Control decks and then having every Hearthstone resource under the sun say the exact opposite is not a defensible position, but that thread was started anyway for exactly that purpose.
I'd say a large percentage of the population takes what they're given and works with it, because that's honestly no different than any other game. It's not an unreasonable stance to take, because most people also just quit games if they're not having fun. For those who are more focused on the competitive aspects of it (Spikes), it's also just viewed as counterproductive; if you're given a system and you want to win within it, your time and energy are better spent adapting and playing the cards you're given than making yet another post devoted to how you think STB needs X change to be balanced. I'll also be honest, most people commenting on the game design aspect know basically nothing about design and there's little reason to really put more weight on their thoughts than on the designers themselves; like I get it, their feedback isn't useless... but if I'm going to listen to anyone I'm simply going to put more weight on the words and efforts of the people who are more qualified to make those calls.

While I agree that it is out of hand, there are cases where it is warranted. Pirate flame imp is a recent example.
But then you run into issues where people equate a conditional 3/2 to an non-conditional 3/2. So you can see how you kind of shot a hole in the bottom of your boat there.
There's a vast difference between saying "STB seems too potent and here are X reasons why; what do other people think?", and saying "STB is the same as Flame Imp". One of them is fostering a conversation, the other is legitimately just being hyperbolic and trying to get other people on the hate train by firing them up.

How typical of someone to cry "censorship" when they've called for nothing of the sort. Asking people to stop saying stupid things is very different from banning them from saying stupid things.

There are about two dozen different nerf threads since MSOG released. If the game is that unbalanced, why are all the decks hovering right around a 50% average win rate in the official stats?
So. There are nerf threads, and then there are nerf threads. Some, like the "Drakonid Operative is Op" thread have a ton of replies and address an actual good card. Others, made for cards like Preparation and EVEN FRICKING Raven Idol, are just not necessary.

You don't need nerfs when your budget deck can handle them haha! Wooh shout out to the fellow dragon players there!

You should start an online petition. They totally work.
Well said I agree. I don't think it's a bad thing to dislike cards, but some people go over the top and want to nerfed everything
