I don't really see the issue with STB, it still only has two health, so basically every class besides paladin i think has a way of dealing 2 damage turn 1, so just tech for that I guess

But it's 1x card out of 30, the chance of having it at the ready isn't that great and if you don't you're down the road to Fuckville already. The problem with STB is that it's such a snowball card, see:
Turn1: a minimum of 1damage face with Patches, 1/2 1/1 on board; Turn2: a minimum of 5 damage (3+1+1(weapon) and a maximum of 8 in case of fiery war axe; 3/2 1/1 Turn3: by the time you realistically have the mana to remove it you've already lost a minimum of 6 to a maximum 12 hp. All from a single 1mana card.
Not even the scummiest of face hunters could take 12hp in the early stages of the game like this.
I cant stand it when people say "they are just trying to make money". Really?! If they don't make money, how would they keep the servers up and the developers for new cards/testing paid? You expect everything to be for free? What the hell is wrong with people that they think everything should be free? Nothing is free. It costs money to keep a game running so money has to be made. The FTP argument is a red herring. At least FTP players aren't being shafted by a development cycle which is 1) release cards that create decks that must be played for consistent success and that make most of the other cards a waste of time having 2) sell as many packs with the new cards in as possible to the guillable until it's clear how ridiculously unbalanced things are 3) nerf or rotate out the broken cards released in the last cycle 4) go to 1) - never give Blizzard money in the hope of building a set of cards that will be playable for more than a few months.
huntertaker - nerfed
tree roar Druid - nerfed
grim patron warrior - nerfed
Secret paladin and doctor boom - rotated to wild
All decks that people rode high on the ladder and crapped all over people not playing. Pretty broken decks - spend your money and ride the current cancer wagon to success for a season or two - or struggle. The idea of having a big collection of cool cards you can build even semi competitive decks with is a lie.

There are many ways to make money, treating your playerbase as dumb cows to exploit is not necessarily the best one.
@Falbrogna; I hear the "far too strong for X drop" a lot, but that's pretty subjective. Bad Kripp math aside, strong 1-Drops aren't Satan and unless we see something actually on par with Undertaker it's more a matter of preference in gameplay than bad design to be pushing strong early game. Clearly there's a trend of that, maybe you need to look at other games that don't believe that proactive plays are good?
I'm very well aware Pirates were good in testing, funny how they ended up being pretty good on live too. It's almost like they were pushing they archetype to be strong? Depending on when that "challenge" you're referring took place, once again it's not an anomaly for things to happen like that in playtesting. And like I said, I can't (nor you for that matter) speak for how many days of playtesting in any capacity is enough to satisfy them on the initial balance of a card; however you're just projecting your own shitty attitude on the situation if you think that they just threw it together without testing it heavily. If you have the source saying "we didn't actually test this card at all" feel free to provide that.
Cards being on their watch list after release? Oh god, it's almost like card games have historically released cards that required changes/bans in the past. MTG has been doing this for over 2 decades and you should see the shitshows some of their releases have been. It's legitimately a non-issue, making adjustments post-release is hardly a sign you need to fire your design/balance team.
You can cry incompetence all day, but what this ultimately boils down to is that they're in the driver seat and by the metrics that matter this game has been a massive success. It's totally fine if you don't like their design philosophy or approach, but if you're already pointing out this isn't new then maybe your idea of what's is or isn't fun is never going to be satisfied. The onus is on you to make a change there, because it's not like anyone is tying you to a chair and forcing you to play the game.

Well the fact that Blizzard now wants to nerf all the powerful classic cards, so that they will be overshadowed by rotating cards does seem a little abusive to f2p
I can get where the OP is coming from
This is exactly what I was saying. They told us that we would keep classic cards forever and they are removing the good ones. Apparently they will keep doing every year removing all classic cards one by one. That is really horrible and unfair for player but Blizzard doesn't seem to care.
The money is yours, use it the way you want. Not like anyone in here, but you, had to work for it. To spend or not to spend, thats entirely up to you. (no offense to the topic creator btw)
That said, Im sad they are going to rotate some of the classic cards. Im a new player and just when I was about to get the few ones I'm missing... :\
No-one says the otherwise, question is does it really worth to spend your money or time on this game.

I agree. I feel guilty for myself to put this amount of money in it.
