Most of us already knew this, but I opened this thread because a saw many comments in other threads claiming that Reno should stay in standard, and many threads have been created just to discuss Reno's fate in the next standard year.
Good. Reno is unhealthy in my opinion. There is nothing fun about winning or losing based on whether someone drew Reno or not. Hopefully this allows for more fair and consistent neutral healing options.
Good. There's already too many powerful cards part of the permanent standard sets, if anything they need to cut some, not add any.
They just need to add other interesting cards with this mechanic to keep the playstyle viable, but standard should always change, so it's good that Reno is leaving. People who say Reno is necessary to keep Kazakus, raza etc useful seem to forget that a new adventure comes out the same day Reno leaves. I'm positive that this set will have some replacement for Reno to keep the single-card decks viable.
I'm glad Blizzard is sticking to the rotation, and not allowing Reno Jackson to stay in Standard. At the end of the day, it does not really matter to me, because I play more Wild than Standard etc. But, I'm happy Reno is leaving in the Spring.
But I really like if the no duplicates strategy still viable with decent support, without Reno and if the new expansion don't bring new tools Kazakus become a bad legendary in standard, alone I don't think he is strong enough to be competitive, maybe in priest with Raza, I hope mage/warlock don't turn the next paladin/hunter.
Lol why would anybody expect a card that power level to be moved from an adventure to a set that never rotates out. Metas rotate, guarantee more highlander cards with similar level will make it into the game at some point. Maybe we'll see highlander aggro one day
Reno can't be gone soon enough. I'm all for new cards that help to keep highlander style decks viable, but being able to heal up to 29 health for 6 mana is way over the top. What they really need to do is come out with a dozen or so cards that support the highlander archetype so that running only 1 copy of a card isn't quite so big a disadvantage.

haha. finally, all those threads can stop. i'm personally glad. i'm sure they're going to put out Reno Jr., restore up to half your life total, rounded up or something like that. not to worry, reno lovers.
To all the ones that rejoice, i would like to know why a card should rotate just because it was released in 2015/2016/etc... while cards from classic are in forever. Shouldn't they also leave to make the game "fresh"? Or it works only for naxx onward?
Well at least i know i won't play standard next release. Highlander decks are dead without a strong heal and aggro will be the number 1 as usual.
Well first, like I said above, I think more cards should leave standard. There are indeed to many cards in the classic set, which will keep standard from feeling fresh. This problem would be way worse if Reno and other powerful cards stuck around too.
Secondly, why are you jumping the gun? The sets do not rotate out before the new adventure comes out. You do not know yet what other cards are coming in, so you have no way of knowing that the loss of Reno will kill Highlander decks...

They are going to have to or the meta will be nothing but pirate warriors and shamans. I predict a 5 mana 3/5 restore 15 health reno.

inconsistent Reno trash is the reason these scumbag aggro decks are endemic. The best way to beat Reno, especially renolock, is to kill enemy in 5 turns.

This was fairly obvious after the addition of kazakas. Both Reno and kazakus are great highlander legendaies, but both together are too op. More highlander cards are possible, but I doubt we'll see another as op as kazakas. Probably an epic that restores 8 - 10 health to replace reno.

I hope they think long and hard about how a card like Reno isn't even that strong or broken.
6 mana 4/6, gain 29 life.
So basically for one mana, you get Tree of Life effect on yourself. Tree of Life, a 9 mana card.
I hope they reflect on this and think about what this means for their game in general and how they've designed it.
