It's probably a bit of both. Or rather, different people have different motivations. I'm sure there are people out there who have golden cards to say they own them and show off.

Personally, I like the way they look. Couldn't care less about the opinion of someone on the internet that I'm never going to meet.

As far as the OP, its more likely that you notice it more with gold players because of your own preconceptions. The player's rank is a lot more relevant in my experience.

I've spent a lot of money on HS because I've started a few months ago and now have pretty much all the cards I need. Now I'm just keeping golden cards and accumulating gold and dust to get golden decks in the future. I'm fairly decent, but don't have that much time to grind the game and get legend, but idc. My money, my choice, OP.

If someone has an all golden deck, good for them. If they misplay, they're bad and it's great you've won. Just for the record - I've been playing vs non-golden decks and ppl seem to misplay as well.

Russian people think that spending money on computer games is a variety of cancer. I didn't spend any money on HS, getting gold simply playing unlimited arena, I was legend multiple times. So people that are spending money on HS probably haver some problems with their heads, so their missplays is normal

I'll bite though; if someone has an all gold collection, they are probably working adults.  That means they may be multitasking (playing at work, paying bills, or dealing with kids and a wife).

gold card mean pay 90% of time. How come gold always equal skill? Really brainless talk say golden card = pro. They also human like you only different is they rich and willing to spend in hs.

 Excellent post, I agree totally. I work, I like to spend money, I'm still reasonably decent at this game but I like my few golden decks. I might also add that a lot of the golden epics are from rank 5+ each season so this thread is absolute rubbish and yes I agree utter jealously. Free to play players need to stop bitching all the time. This game was never intended to be truly free, nor is any other game I might add. It is just the design of the mobile game market that makes people buy in game purchases. This is the only such game I will ever spend money on (in terms of mobile apps) because at least the collection is decent and blizzard are a big, respectable company. 

 

Anyway, moral of the story I love playing golden cards, they look awesome and for the most post I've actually had people add me saying how nice my decks look, especially when you open up with the golden coin. They know it's a full golden deck.  Also when you have golden characters it's nice to have the deck to go with it.

 Really? I'm a young lawyer, had some success at work. Also I have quite a decent life, own a car, gonna buy a flat (and this is living in Poland, so I'm not rich by western standards). I can buy expensive alcohol, some clothes, I can also pay for HS packs. Not as much as I want to (I'm not rolling 6 figures every month lol), but why ppl complain about what OTHER ppl do with their money is beyond me. As long as it doesn't hurt you, why do you care? They could have platinum 3d cards, I don't care.

I do understand that this is a troll post, but consider that in China it is socially acceptable to spend money on f2p competitive games, just for the record.

Most of you are nerds who are still in college and high school or just starting work.

FYI nerds get rich.

Someday it will be you with the shiny things. You should start learning to admire success. You dont want to be self loathing do you?
