Jut wondering, does anyone else ever concede games in casual just to be nice to some new player that you are about to kill the next turn? When I see I'm up against a newb playing a budget deck it sort of feels like I'm clubbing a baby seal, so I've started going to the point where I have the win next round, telling them well played, and then conceding so they can at least earn some gold and hopefully stick around long enough to build a good deck.
Yes, i do this every time i face a new player... right now is very hard for f2p players to get a decent collection, I like to help those new kids to get some gold and a free win.
I will only let new players win if I am doing a quest that doesn't require me to win. For example, the play 50 Paladin class cards. Paladin sucks in standard right now so I play it in casual. Once I have completed the quest in the middle of the game I will concede if it looks like I'm playing against a new player.
In casual? Sure. If I run into someone playing a basic deck or who is obviously new AND they are polite, this is KEY, i'll go right up to the point where I would have killed them, shown them they would be dead and then concede.
No, but I decided to play a priest with only basic cards during the Karazhan meta at legend and in the first match I played, the shaman conceded when he had lethal easily.
Personally I don't do this, but more power to you for being kind to the newbies! God knows it's hard as hell to get into a competitive spot as a new player right now.
This topic has been done before. It's condescending and douchey no matter what mode your in. Did they ask you to? No, then don't do it. You're not doing anyone any favors except you own ego.
I may do this in brawl if it's a P2W brawl and they are playing just basic cards against all odds trying to get the pack. Not in constructed though, the opponent deserves a match.

Yeah, of course. In legend (though i havent bothered to reach legend in over a year) i used to concede when i faced players at rank 1 to help them reach legend. In casual i concede all the time. In ranked i do it after i reach rank 5, especially if the opponent is 6 so he can get his rewards.

It has nothing to do with my ego. It has to do with me remembering how damn frustrating it is to play a basic deck as a newb when you're constantly getting stomped by people with much better card collections. I've only been playing for a few months so the memory of what it was like before I decided to buy some adventures and packs is still pretty fresh in my mind. For new players today trying to earn gold is an exercise in frustration, because you're lucky if you can get a 25% win rate with most of the basic decks.
Keep in mind, I don't just auto concede on turn 2 when I see a river croc come out. I play out the game until I know I have them beat next turn. They get their game, I just don't insist on winning so I can get a whole 3 1/3 gold for myself when they need it a lot more than I do. I can earn enough gold to buy a pack a day without much issue, so it's not like it hurts me any. And it may just keep some new player from quitting the game in frustration when they have the potential to be really good at it.
I've only done it once but it was in ranked. If I had the choice to do it again I probably wouldn't because now I feel that newbies need to take L's in order to learn faster.
Yes. If I am playing casual with some janky quest deck filled with one drops I will. If I am playing against rogue players anyways, occasionally mages or priest. No respect for shaman, warrior or warlock players. Druid is whatever. Hunter and pally are rarely played these days. I feel bad sometimes for playing these stupid decks filled with 1 drops to cheese quests.

Keep in mind this is just your opinion. I randomly and occasionally pity concede for a ton of different reasons, none of these reasons are related to my ego. It's funny because your post is the most condescending in this thread yet you blame us for being condescending. And why are you asking if they ask us to concede ? I mean there is no ingame chat so how is this relevant.. You're just arguing for the sake of it right now.
Also, conceding will always give something to the opponent, wether this is gold or ranked stars, or simply time, wether you like it or not, it is doing the opponent a favor to concede, unless they're completeling a daily quest.
You tell me my point has limited validity because it's my opinion yet you sit there and make up what your opponent feels and wants during a game. Like I said, unless they ask for it, you're not doing anyone a favor and you're just pushing your own opinion on them to make yourself feel better. And you have the nerve to call me condescending lol.

On an unrelated topic I once Slavelocked my opponent during Cube (MTGO) and after they let me kill them, I gave them the match. My deck sucked.

i dont play casual, so no

I've messed around with not ending the game, like taking them to 1 HP then passing a few turns before ending it lol.
Sometimes they'll continue playing even though it's hopeless.
S39 Legend - Quest Rogue, S38 Legend - Murloc Paladin, S37 Legend - Miracle Rogue, S36 Top 200 Legend - Aggro Shaman, S35 - Finished Rank 51 Legend - Aggro Shaman, S34 Legend - Aggro Shaman
I feel no pity for the opposition.

I never concede unless they have lethal on board.
