I hate the current meta aswell, especially pirate warrior.
But I won't stop playing Hearthstone. I admit that I'm simply addicted to the game.
I will never, ever resort to playing cancer though.
This is my case. I wont play aggro just because its boring as hell, just like Jade Idol Druid, too boring.
I play to have fun, and i have fun with Renolock, Reno Mage, Dragon Priest, Buffadin, Buff Hunter and such stuff. I'll keep playing them, and i couldnt care less if i lose, but when i win it was totally worth it.
Always going to be some deck that triggers people. Just get over it or go play some other game. People were freaking out about C'thun decks right after WOG came out and a week or so later people weren't even talking about it anymore. Chill and have a beer or something.
Too early to say what is "meta" and at the end of the day, even if it ducks. This expansion has given me some of the most fun games I have ever played in Hearthstone. My Raza Priest versus a Reno Cthun Warlock. Sure these may not end up being tier 1 decks. But that battle was so much fun! (We both pulled off the Brann/Kazakus combo, and my opponent played a devastating dirty rat to pull my Reno from hand!).
Priest is still fun to play
Also, at least pirate Warrior matches are over quick so I can move on to something more fun.
Of all the decks i´ve seen in MSG Jade druid must be one of the LEAST broken things. Hell, i´ve only lost ONE game to them in 13 total games. And i´ve been playing NOTHING but midrange and control.
The deck has NO pressure the first 4-6 turns, which is absurdly slow. Pirate warrior eats them alive, hunter destroy them, zoo lock destroys them, i haven´t lost a single time to them with my reno Krul leeroy deck. And it seems like an unfavorable matchup against Dragon priest.
So what i ask of you is, which decks that are in the current meta does it actually counter?
Jade idol is the most broken mechanics in the history of HS. Why? Not because it is super strong against everyone. It might get crushed by pirate - well only the decks that tries to counter pirates or mirrors stand a chance anyway - but is is about how it works. Control decks have absolutely no chance against jade druids because whole purpose of control decks is to survive and gain the control at the later phase of the game and at the moment that only benefits jade decks.
I also play(ed) Reno Priest and as I had mentioned my games against warriors were even, although if you do not Reno and Exc. Evil early, you just loose. You mentioned ooze, well good luck with those oozes against reno locks and other controls. This is the problem with this meta, there are no balanced games exist.
Maybe don't protest just yet. If you like Shadow Priest this is the best time your ever going to have playing HS.
Jade is pretty weak, it sucks that it hard counters Control but it loses most other matches so hard it is already falling off. I don't know why they decided Control of all things needed a hard counter. Though, it may be that Reno Warlock and Reno Dragon Priest are super strong, still a counter that hard is pretty stupid imo. A soft counter sure, but it is stupidly one-sided.
I hate as much as anyone that Pirate Warrior is tier one, I wish we could have a non Aggro meta but it's not going to happen. lol. This deck is way more cancerous then Midrange Shaman when it gets a good start too.
But there is a bright side.
Reno Warlock, Reno Priest, and Dragon Priest are nearly tier one if not there. They are very highly represented at top legend.
Bro, it's the first two days of meta. For all you know Pirate warrior's a fad and in a few weeks we'll never see it again.
This, so much this. Do people remember Old Gods release? We're going to get the same kind of shake-up in the Spring as we did in Standard, the same kind of shake-up we did after Kara, and the same kind of shake-up we're seeing after Gadgetzan with each one having a large/small impact based on the number of different cards rotating in or out.
This is a meta in the sense that this is what ladder currently looks like, but in no way should this going to reflect the end result of what people would consider the Gadgetzan meta. Remember when N'Zoth Paladin and C'thun Druid were the scourge of the ladder? How did that turn out?

Articles I suggest every player reads to improve at the game;
Angry chicken is a card that is fun to play, and while not good it worked when it worked.
But if you do a search for 'angry chicken', you'll find a steadily decreasing amount of decks since beta which include the guy up until GvG (which saw an increase in chicken because of Hobgoblin) followed by no one playing him since.
And I'm not just talking about chicken. Other buildaround fun cards like Recombobulator [/card] [card]holy wrath and Clockwork Giant have been gone from the meta for a long time. As someone who used to main holy wrath pally and angry chicken druid, attempting these decks recently has been the most soulcrushing expirance I've ever had in a card game since my first mtg game vs splintertwin.
Basically I'm depressed that my favorite game has become shitty.
Kazakus is not as good as I thought. The loss of consistency you get from a non-duplicate deck makes it hard to keep up with faster decks, and one spell won't make up for that. Also you lack good counter control cards. The spell you get from Kazakus isn't even that good half the time, since it'll freeze dead minions, or the board clear will go off before enemy deathrattle effects.
I really don't believe Jade is anywhere close to being as weak as you think it is. I have yet to lose a single match against control with the jade decks, and watching streamers at legend playing their reno decks, they aren't beating them either. Hell, I don't think HsDogDog beat a single one yesterday. The only thing keeping jades in check are pirate warriors.
I think the problem with this meta is pirate is too strong. Control should consistently win against pirate. Then we would have 3 archetypes that can counter each other.
Hey guys. First, let me mention that this is not a whining post. If you think that this meta is not broken, then you have no idea how the HS mechanic supposed to work - at least properly. I have been playing priest for two years - since beta and although I was always aware that the class was bad, I still could enjoy the game and in fact recently posted a shadow priest deck that got over 100+ likes.
The solution is simple stop playing hearthstone. Not only that the game is broken as hell thanks to jade idol cancer, which also proves how unprofessional the Blizzard game developers are, but also the game has become more like a pay to win, as you have to buy hundreds of packs to get the necessary cards to try new mechanics, a.k.a. Capitalism.
Don't even bother replying how to counter jade idol by playing aggro since this logic only helps awful game designers and certainly doesn't help Hearthstone community.
Anyway I am off until these two issues are fixed and PROTESTing Blizzard for it.
Enjoy(!) your ranked games against endless jade idols and 5 turn pirate warriors.
Bye. Nobody will miss you.
Get realistic expecations seriously... its been litterally 2 days at most since it was released for fuck's sake. And learn some game design. Until then...
Bye! And I repeat, no one cares that you are qutting if that makes you happy! ^^
Speaking of realistic expectations, you just typed on keyboard to post this reply?
Do not miss me, yet learn to use your time more efficiently rather than criticizing people without any logical reasoning.
I think the problem with this meta is pirate is too strong. Control should consistently win against pirate. Then we would have 3 archetypes that can counter each other.
This is it in a nutshell. If control loses to aggro AND combo, everyone is worse off. If one archetype is marginalized, the amount of competitive decks is reduced. This is what we're seeing right now. I have never been this frustrated with the state of Hearthstone. Even the mech mage era, the face hunter era, and shamanstone were more fun.
I do not get the jade golem hype. I have lost not a single game to jade golem decks, and one of them was with a renolock. ANY kind of pressure is good enough. (Or I havn't met anyone who is actually good with the deck.)
I love control decks, but they need their own threats too. If all you want to do is remove other people's stuff and win in fatigue, well then you're not playing a game that's any more interactive than a straight up face deck and I honestly don't care if there is a card that hardcounters that.
For now my stance on pirate warrior is that people are probably overreacting. We'll see in a month.
Instead of seeing the ladder as a playground where you can play a variety of decks, why not see it for what it is: people playing the most efficient decks they can find with the singular purpose of being better than the opponent they face. Playing whatever deck you want, that's what casual is for. You will find a variety of decks and the feeling of competition is almost completely gone.
However, you seem to believe that playing on a competitive ladder means that you will not face players who are trying to be pragmatic. This belief is dissonant with what ladder rewards, which is efficiency of play. The problem is your perception of the way things are versus reality. You should choose to see ladder as a competitive experience and choose to funnel your energy and your gameplay into being more efficient than your opponents.

I also played in those metas. AGAIN, this is not about how strong the decks are. This is about how the mechanic is BROKEN. Priest was also weak against other previous dominating classes but at least with proper order and some luck, there were games that I had won because there was a POSSIBILITY, which no longer exists in this meta. I never complained about how a type of deck might counter another one, in fact that makes sense but at the moment no current priest deck can possibly defeat jade druids unless the druid player is so newbie. I won many games with my Reno priest in this meta so it is not about just keep encountering warriors or druids. As I had mentioned the game has become pay to win. I bought 40 packs and got only 1 legendary out of it. This is nothing but an insult. I also like HS but can no longer tolerate Blizzard.
There is no meta. It's the third day of the expansion. Things haven't stabilized, and people are still experimenting. The Hearthstone community is pathetic. The only reason why pirate warriors and jade druids are popular right now is because those are the only lists people can find online. They're too scared to try new things out, so they just go netdeck. Give it some time and things will change. I guarantee the meta will be completely different in a few weeks. If you're going to complain about the "meta" on the third day, just stop playing the game.
You know, this reminds me so much of the C'Thun Druids whine back in April.
With the slight difference that pirate warrior and jade druid are here to stay. With the pirate warrior coming out on top most likely, without viable control decks to keep them in check.

WTH the meta is great for once

You know, this reminds me so much of the C'Thun Druids whine back in April.
People who refuses to play aggro out of principle are even worse than people who play exclusively aggro.
One should seek to become a complete player and play all archetypes, including ones that he despises for whatever irrational reasons.
