I was watching Trump's last video "Hearthstone: Gadgetzan Prototype - Buffadin - Disgusting Value" and I got to the conclusion that Blizzard messed up again. I don't know about you, but paying 8 mana (Brann + Doppelgangster) for 44/46 in stats doesn't seem too fair for me. I am quite sure that Doppelgangster will see some changes very soon.
From my perspective, only Doom and Twisting Nether are effective AoEs against them. So if you're not playing with Warlock it's very difficult to deal with the Doppelgangster board. And if you are playing with Warlock, it's still difficult because Doppelgangster is only one big guy of the Grimy Goons decks. So if somehow you found a way to deal with the Doppelgangsters (probably tossing out all of your board clears), now what?
For now, I wish to get a lot of Doppelgangsters from packs, because in the end that will give me a huge amount of dust!
Im playing with a slightly different Version right now and the big proc happen not that often so i see no Problem. Also the Expansion is 2 days old, no cry for nerfs.
I think that those plays CAN happen. However, due to how this game can swing in tempo at times, you have to play your Dopplegangsters earlier than doing the 8 mana wombo combo.
I am always sceptical when I hear opinions based on videos rather than experience.
Trump plays what. 6 hours a day? And how often has this happened.
Furthermore Trump is known to be a very greedy player. The kind that doesn't play brann on turn 3 for tempo and looses games because of it. But keeps it in hand for a potential wombo combos.
And. The biggest argument is that brann doppelgangster is equally weak to a real board clear like brawl as just doppelgangster on it's own is.
You think you're gonna do 8 mana value plays in pirate warrior meta? Cute.
No but seriously, the absolute dream scenario which happens incredibly rarely isn't exactly a reason to nerf a card. I mean turn 4 barnes into aviana, into innervate two 10 drops is a thing. That doesn't mean ramp druid is broken, it can just achieve some pretty broken things on occasion.
Actually, I can say that I am one hundred percent sure it will not be nerfed.
The only way cards get nerfed in this game is if there is a huge community outcry, it breaks tournaments, it OTKs, or it has a 70% + winrate and dominates hard on ladder.
I really don't see Dopplerganger causing any of those things to happen.
Look at how rare it is an expansion card gets nerfed. Totem Golem, Yogg, Undertaker, and that is about it.
Dopplegangster is damn good, but I doubt it'll see a nerf, due to it actually being fairly situational, and due to brann rotating out of standard in a few months.
meet brawl, frost nova doomsayer, pyromacer equality, equality consecrate, mill rogue, technically even devolve. you see, there are many counters to that play, that play does not even happen every game, and it loses to pirate warrior which is a thing now. I genuinely think that mill rogue will see ladder play, someone will reach legend with mill rogue somebody will bring it to a tournament. probably firebat considering he has done it before. I personally am not scared of buffadin, but I plan to play a lot of mill rogue and arena for a while, and I have gone 3/0 against buffadin with mill rogue, they stand no chance. yes buffadin eats a lot of board clears, but it has a very slow tempo game early on or it has trouble getting that combo to even happen. either way the deck has flaws and counters and I would not be scared.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
What I think is really cute is how people are calling it "this" meta or "that" meta in a game where the new expansion is days old. Day one and two and even still people are calling jade Druid unfair. The point is that Hearthstone Devs went into this expansion with the idea that three factions would duke it out. I would say that with the players taking sides already makes this a huge win for Blizzard, despite how unbalanced the meta may shake out to be. The real losers are the people who won't #paytowin
Hi guys!

That is my point of view, what do you think?

Doppelgangster is pretty strong, especially in Shaman with Evolve. Turn 5 with coin you can get 3 6 mana beasts out of nowhere.

I have yet to lose to one.

I've seen it played once in ranked, it's very niche. It won't be nerfed, and doesn't need to be.
