Finally got to rank 5 for the golden epic reward in a final push. The player I beat was also at rank 6 and I made a friend request which he/she accepted.
I told him I had just got to rank 5 and as a good will gesture offered him the friend quest I had and he replied, "If you want". I said, "It's for you not me I can give it to anyone". He said I fucked up his win streak, I said "yeah sorry, that's why I offer the friend quest, 80g" and he promptly unfriended.
Was it really that much of an insult to offer 80g to the guy I beat in the final game?
If you're reading mate we're all trying to do the same thing, don't be so bitter. Someone has to lose in this crapshoot of a game.
You dont owe him anything. It was a nice gesture but he acted like a dick. If you played a cancer deck and he didnt I can understand it tho, but its not the way I would act myself.
Congrats on getting rank 5 and if you still have the quest I would go to the 80 gold sharing thread. Better spent there than on pieces of shit like that guy.

Well no one should be mad if you played a bad deck and your opponent plays a good deck
Sounds like the dude was just salty - in the rare times people friend me after a game I always enjoy the chance to talk to other players regardless of win/loss. In the other rare times I've been invited for the 80g quests I'm trilled to get almost a free pack for 1 game.

Well, a week ago I played a stupid mage deck for fun (already reached rank5 anyway). Opponent was a midrange shaman with a few health and without a board, I had maybe 15 health with a few cards on the board. I topdecked Yogg and well... You have to play that card... So I did a well played emote and dropped it to the board. Of course YS wiped my board, dealt like 2 dmg to the opponent but thats it, no card draws or anything else for me. In the end the shaman won the game. Didnt reallt care, I was just playing for fun. After he won, the guy friended me and I thought thats fine, maybe he wants to say thx or something. Instead, he started to BM me after I gave him the game...
Long story short: ppl are stupid assholes, do not think about it a second, just not worth it.

he was mumbling something about cancer, stupidity, assholes and he asked me politely to quit HS. OK, maybe that last part wasnt exactly like this... ;)

A good deck doesnt have to be a cancer deck.
I never really respond to stuff like this but it's 20 mins until the end of work and I'm bored so:
1) Calling a deck in a children card game by the deadliest disease known to humans that we don't have a cure for yet is one of the stupidest thing that could've happened, but as someone above said people are assholes and don't really think what they say most of the time so hey.... what do I know....
2) A deck becomes... "cancer"... because it's a good deck and blaming people and calling them idiots or whatever just because they choose to play the deck that can actually win them most games in the least amount of time is just plain stupid, different people play for different reasons
3) To answer OP's question, no, it was not insulting at all, the guy was indeed a dick, you both played to win, he should be mad at (him/her)self for losing not at you, you ended his winstreak, omg, wonder if s/he stopped for a second to think about how many winstreaks did s/he end, you tried to be a nice guy, but nice guys don't have it easy in this world.
I had this situation once - I wrote on a twitch chat of some streamer saying I have a 80g quest asking who wants it and this guy replied saying he wants to swap, I'm like - cool, why not, we'll get 160g each, he quickly friended me in the game then showed me he's got 80g quest and cancelled it straight away, I challenged him as well then, we started the game, he played very quickly to lose and after the game he wasn't on my list anymore... The only regret I had after this game that I gave my 80g to a guy who was clearly a dick and not to someone who needed that 80g more... I didn't expect then and I never do to get my 80g back,
Not everyone but people are assholes and there is nothing you can do about it unfortunately, let's just hope that karma indeed exists and they will get what they work for sooner or later ;)
PS. I rarely get to rank 10 and usually just play fun/gimmicky decks around rank 15 to do quests. That's just in case someone thinks I'm another shaman player and that's why I'm defending them ;)
actually that's funny lol, the other month i got steamrolled by some guy (i really can't remember what he was playing but he just got the nuts and I got shit for mulligan) and he friend requested so I added him and he must have been foreign because he sent 'u like have 80g?' and I was like 'uh sure dude,' and we dueled and I got 80g and he immediately hopped offline lmao. was pretty hilarious and i didn't turn my nose up at the 80g so we both won.

I don't think it was insulting at all to offer free 80 gold. It sounds like the other player was super salty about you ending his win streak lol.
Forgive him, it's the salt speaking out of him.
