Now that we're close to having seen all of the cards in the set, I'm curious to see what everyone thinks.
Obviously the cards we see in the card dump a couple hours from now could change all of these opinions, but as it currently stands here are some thoughts I've had about the expansion over the last couple days:
While not particularly exciting, the Grimy Goons received a very solid, stand-alone mechanic that should enable some potent new decks and potentially allow some cards to see play that would otherwise have been essentially completely ignored.
With the Kabal, the Kazakus mechanic has a lot of potential, but at a cost. It's going to take some careful deck crafting to make sure it's viable, but there are already Highlander variants for Mage and Warlock, so only Priest would really need an entirely new deck designed to utilize the theme. The potions aren't anything to sneer at, either. Priest also received a lot of powerful tools that can be utilized in a number of other deck archetypes as well and should be in a pretty good place post-release.
As for the Jade Lotus, somewhat similar to C'Thun decks, the mechanic helps the deck build itself. That's clearly an exaggeration, but not too much since to get the most benefit from the Jade Golem you're going to want a fair number of cards to deal with that mechanic. I think with this family, more so than the other two, we'll have to wait and see how much potential the mechanic really has.
From Rogue's perspective, it looks like once again players aren't going to get the cards they've been calling for to make archetypes other than miracle viable. With that in mind, I think it would have been nice if Lotus Agents, or even all of the tri-class discover cards, allowed you to choose the class you want to discover from. For Rogues in particular, players have been asking for healing and AoEs. Druid has a fair number of healing spells and Shaman isn't lacking in the board clear department, but only being able to discover one card from each class severely limits the overall utility of these cards. Also, the fact that Lotus Agents can't be played until turn 5 means that whatever card is discovered, even if quite good, could still be too little, too late.
Anyway, I want to know if you agree, disagree, or any other insights you have as we gear up to take on the Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.
Well, now that we've seen the rest of the cards, I think it's safe to say that Rogue won't be recovering any time soon. Renolock also doesn't seem quite as powerful as I was hoping. Druid looks like it will be a force to be reckoned with, as will Priest. I hope I'm wrong, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the meta shakes out.

Hmm how does Renolock not look powerful?
3 Mana 5/5 is pretty good
New Zombie Chow
A couple of decent 2 drops
Kazakus
New removal spell
More AOE
Hopefully a slower meta
I see Renolock in a pretty good spot and maybe with all the new cards even Handlock might make a comeback.... We'll probably just end up getting smacked by those pretty OP looking Jade Druids but as of today I still have hope....

Rather play Highlander Warlock in wild, where it's very potent. I don't see why playing it in standart while in wild you gain a ton.
Kazakus is okay but it's better in mage with solia, although of course highlander warlock will still be way above mage because of the heropower and the wincon (jaraxxus) even tho the warlock legendary sucks fpr a highlander deck. Mage has no wincon other then trying to go for a gimmicky fatigue game. In wild you can try to duplicate a Rag or something but with only one duplicate in the deck that's not easy nor a gurantee to outvalue people.
I actually think that they did a really good job! My only concern i have is that if Jade Druid is able to tech against Aggro, the only deck that will be able to beat it will be ZooLock (because of their poor aoe)

I guess that's what I mean, Renolock just doesn't look like it got as much of a boost as some of the new incoming archetypes. I'm still really excited to try it out, though, and see how it does.
Cabal decks look fun, but will massively struggle vs jade golem spam and aggro decks, which will likely be a counter to Jade decks. Need to see how strong they actually are after the first wave (when everyone is trying the same new archetypes and battling each other). When *actual* decks start to come out, then we'll judge.
Overall, not even 1/5 hyped as I was for WotOG. Just realised that the design/balance pattern will always stay the same: FoTM class/deck on ladder, awful class balance in arena, game-deciding RNG as an actual part of the game design philosophy that Blizz will never give up (cuz Pavelstone is so fun herpderp). 'I can't be arsed' - that's what I think of any new HS xpac now.
Been playing from 2013, have all the playable cards in my collection, multiple times legend, and now... I just don't give a damn. It's been fun, but it's kinda not anymore. Still watching streams/vids tho, but not wasting any of my own time into this game for now.
My perception is negative. We got a bunch of good cards amid a whole bunch of crap. It feels like it's better to craft what you need than sink gold into packs. The general power level is also hard to gauge at this point. It could be a great xpac or it could be bad. There's literally no way to tell yet.
For these reasons, I'm holding off on Mean Streets until we see where the meta is going. I really don't see any potential new archetype beating out current top decks aside from maybe Priest. Jade golems have the potential to be super nasty, but you never know until it sees play.
Dragon priest looks like it will be incredibly strong, dragonfire potion is incredibly potent against both the jade lotus and the grimy goons. The card is just too good. That card could swing an entire game.
Looks fun. I think Jade Golem won't be as strong as people think, Priest will have multiple different builds, Reno-value-mage will be good but not great, Rogue will desperately try a bunch of new things and then settle back on Miracle as only viable build. Pirate warrior might not be competitive but it'll be super fun!
In my opinion this is quite literally the worst expansion they ever released. For Reno and Priest players this might be fantastic and I can absolutely see why people like it, but from a mainly Rogue and Fatigue player... yeah nah absolute garbage
The whole expansion being around random wow village, wow. This exp have 0 flavor in those cards, had 2 like wow that's a card and rest is just meh, btw nice rouge memes
Yeah, Drakonid Operative is probably one of the best cards of the set. But I can understand what HybriddShadow is saying, too, since the trailer showed what looked to be Kazakus in dragon form.
I was pretty exited about the expansion at first, but now I am afraid it might kill what I love most about the game - fatgiue wars from what I saw at the reveal stream, it seems like most games will either be over or escalate completely around turn 7 or turn 8 it looked like hearthstone on speed, and I am not sure that is a good thing how can there be strategic planning, careful trading and close games when players just vomit 11/11, 12/12 and 13/13 golems (in one single turn) onto the board before they even played through a third of their deck?
I hope I am wrong and I am happy to see a change from the current meta, but I am afraid good old control and fatigue games will be extremely rare :(
I have some of the same reservations. Hopefully it won't be too detrimental. I do think that it will give a much needed shift in the meta, though, so overall it should be a net positive result.

Rogue is the new Priest, and Priest is the new Shaman. As a long time Priest player, I can't wait.
Also, generally I am quite excited for this expansion.

Better then Karazhan overall (more power cards, better mechanics) but nothing for rogues.

I'm surprised we didn't get any New Dragons. In the trailer There was a dragon.

Can't be worse than Karazan... :P
I like it quite a lot, neat new decks to build.
Plus I like how they accidentally made a bunch of nNutral cards Rogue and a bunch of Rogue cards Neutral.

Shaman still OP OP.

The only thing I don't like in this expansion is the hate developers have to rogue...
