I assume he is whining about the new quests they added, saying that people are just playing stuff to get the quests done, and not trying to play the actual game. What I don't get is why he is "done ranking" this season since you can't lose the rewards you earn... playing ranked would solve his "problem".
this change is good though this allows new players to complete quests without having to defeat the metadeck spam that used to be casual with a basic priest deck or something ridicolous like that, give it tima and players will eventually get tired of conceding games for quests. Ptcgo has a similar quest system of playing X amount of a single type evolutions or doing X amount of damage with a type, but it doesn't force you to win and people no longer concede the games to farm quests in there.
I think this shows a lot of players feel like my friends and I do where we don't really enjoy the game and are only playing every so often to save gold for the next expansion. If you give people a way of getting gold without really having to play, of course people will exploit it. I personally hate playing against shamans and almost every shaman player always says "sorry I know it's cancer but I have to do dailies". If they don't enjoy it and the people they play don't enjoy it then it is actually killing the game.
I hope these quests and quick concedes will show blizzard that they need to change the meta a lot because lots of people no longer play for enjoyment they play for packs and hoping the next expansions makes the game fun again.
Yeah, the 75 murloc quest is demoralizing. Nobody in casual or ranked will let you play more than 5 or 6 murlocs a game, and will tryhard your face down even though it's obvious I'm just doing a daily quest. It took me 10-12 games to complete the murloc quest. Personally, if I see someone is doing Only the Mighty quest (or the 2-attack and below quest), I let them play out as many minions as they can. Don't understand why people have to be such raging assholes even in casual.

you do realise the meta is mostly shaped by players. blizzard only makes cards to shape a foundation.
I'd also like to point out that since it is casual, if you don't like your matchup, concede and move on. When I do some testing on my Peddler Rogue and get a mirror, sometimes I concede because well..extra Rogue cards aren't AS fun.
While I understand your point, I think you're overreacting a bit. Currently the game does not do much to welcome new players who wont spend a ton of money or want to grind for months to catch up to where veteran players are. These quests would be easy if people in casual understood what their opponent was doing and helped it along. The faster these quests get met the faster the newer players will gain gold and better decks to compete on the level they really want to compete. Nobody who is new wants to just spam quests all day long. They do it to gain gold for packs and adventures so they can become part of the community. That's exactly where I am now. Went into casual today to do the Druid quest and finished it in a couple of games while trying to win with the crappiest deck possible. In some way it was more fun than getting destroyed in casual by veterans testing their legendary decks on my noob deck. It is definitely a step in the right direction. Eventually it will even out a bit and we will all be happy with the outcome. Give it time.
The real problem here are garbage narcissistic control players who lack the skill of winning in ranked and don't allow you to complete the fucking 100 murloc quest even though is completely obvious you're not interested in winning
"I'm so pathetic that I want to play all my legendaries before killing you because I can't use them all in ranked"
This is actually a very good move. Get a quest, and do it in casual without resorting to Tier 1 decks, which so many people who "just want to play fun decks" complained about since the dawn of time. So, you will mostly have people truly playing for fun, those who want to test certain deck "techs" for potential laddering (which by default make them more fun and less predictable) and "quest-solvers" who will play what they need to play and likely concede to you. Nothing wrong with this, seems balanced. Heck, I almost beat a freeze mage today with Warlock running nothing but 1-cost minions. If he did not topdeck his second Ice Block, I would have won. It was hilarious.
Since I am done ranking this season, I decided to play some casual.
First game: Mage coins hero power on turn 1, turn 2 hero power, turn 3 hero power and concede.
Second game: Priest has a bunch of crappy 0, 1 and 2 drops just to play Priest cards.
Third game: A warrior who played war axe, next turn war axe, then turn 4 coin arcanite reaper and concedes.
Good job Blizzard!
huh?
When a saw that quests I imagined that this would happen...
But this is good for a bunch of people... now they don't need win to complete que quests with the classes they don't usually play...

I had the quest to play minions with enrage..so I did. It took all of one match to get. Then I went back to my normal stuff. So what?
Could this be a new form of botting since the bots would no longer have to win to be effective?
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

Remember you as well use casual as a quest-dumbster.

Why complain about more quests that give more gold - ie more ones with over 40?
We need a new and more casual, casual mode.
People always find a way to complain about everything, even about the addition of better quests.
Quests completion in Casual should be prohibited. Only solution. This way Casual will stay Casual.
