I understand some people may not agree with me on this but as a player, i should be able to at least voice my opinions.
Hearthstone was a game i used to enjoy but recently I've become frustrated with almost every game mode i play in now.
Ranked is just an endless grind with everyone playing the same mindless decks in an aggressive meta with a dominant class in which eliminates the purpose of having a diversity of 9 classes with deck building when you can just simply copy.
Casual has become somewhat like ranked in which tempo mage, resurrect priest, zoolocks and aggro shamans appear and almost no experimental decks are even found. This makes it difficult to complete a quest and have fun.
Tavern Brawl is just playing for the pack and if you continue to play for the fun factor, you end up cuing up against decks that optimally work with tavern brawl eliminating any chance of testing other cards for the tavern brawl.
Arena has just become a mage festival with the amount of removal that they have and high tempo cards. Its almost impossible to never see one. Sometimes you just cue into multiple mages in a row making arena pretty boring.
Solo Adventures are like a one time wonder where you win just for the cards and never touch them again unless you want to experiment but you eventually get bored of it anyway.
This is what i see but let me know what you think.
As long as the goal for most players is being successful, you won't stop netdecking, dominance of currently best classes in ranked / arena, dominance of "netdecked" stategies in tavern brawl. You still can have fun trying out your decks, your tavern brawl strategies, you just won't win as much, deal with it. And...when you're doing your quests in casual, you're part of the problem ;-)
I tested several cards in the All-Star Squad brawl, what is there after you got your pack? Fun testing, not much more (and of course auto-concede when matched against a priest :D).
I agree with you, but I also agree with Thomasvicfelix. Hope you didn't disenchant all your wild cards, because there are tons of deck variety in wild mode between Ranks 20-10. (I haven't tried going farther than that.) I definitely see freeze mage, secret paladin, and aggro shaman, but it's never one right after the other. People play their wacky builds in wild. I personally play a Divine Shield Paladin and a NZoth Reno Rogue. (Made it to Rank 10 with both of them.)
Yep, go Wild. If not, take a break from HS. Don't feel like you're tied to HS because you spent time/money on it. That's like putting more money in the pot with a terrible poker hand just because you've bet so much on it already.
Yeah, if there wasn't for wild, i would have stop playing long ago, feel the same way as OP. There's scum in Wild too, but not as many as in Standard, so it's quite enjoyable until you encounter dickhead face hunter which makes you smash the screen with your head.
As much as meta is stale, I believe that I see almost every class on the ladder. Yes, shamans are prevalent, but this is like the first time where I don't face 2 same decks in a row.
There's always new decks to be made. Personally I enjoy watching the game as much, if not more than I enjoy playing it. Check out some of the big YouTube videos (if you haven't done so already) for new ideas on the possibilities of new decks that are still to be made. Maybe your creative side will spice up the game for you. I highly recommend Krippy.

The best decks, the newest meta, the most fun you can have watching HearthStone:
So many salty posts these days. To take the time to go on a hearth stone website message board and rant about the game seems excessive. You do realize there are other games out there, right? If hearthstone is so terrible, play something else.

have you tried experimenting with deck building, I don't go for legend, on the rare occasions I have I get bored around rank 4 or 5 and then start playing with weird decks again and fall back to 10-15 in either mode wild or standard but hearthstone is crazy fun for me, I make a new deck every 2 or three days at least and try it out for a while I never stick with a deck for more than a month and that only happene with mill roue and old patron otk

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
Hearthstone has been great for me (primarily) because it isn't my "main" game (I mainly play Destiny). I play Hearthstone exclusively on mobile and watch some YouTubers play Hearthstone for the personalities and interesting decks they play.
I could, however, see if this was the main thing you played, putting copious amounts of time and effort into it, it would be a frustrating experience to essentially be 'forced' to play the same stuff just to progress through the ladder (as it appears to be the only thing with any actual progression).
My joy comes from making decks and deck types from scratch, so I'm self-motivated to play the game anyways.

I took a bit of a break sometime in July, but I'm back now. Aggro Shaman is gone (even if Midrange is still strong), Yogg is mostly gone, and OTK is gone. Plus, there's a new expansion coming soon, so I need to start saving up (after buying Karazhan!).

When you start being disappointed - you want to bring back charm of the game. And make salty posts. You hope - your voice matters.
I finally switched to other activities (at least till new expansion). And happy with this.
Thanks to HS to become boring!

Don't hate the game, hate the players ;-)

If you got the coin, the Mercenaries get going. Vote for The Mercenary for CCC #3.
