With the recent blue post about adding things to the game like observer mode, I would like to get some seriously good ideas going in here about what all should be added to a CCG as good as this one to make it even better
I had an idea a while ago about the Inn, a simple addition that allowed you to use it as a chat room when you sign into hearthstone, sort of like Starcraft had. Within it, you could treat the Inn like a card shop, and allow people to buy specific cards or trade amongst each other( a big part of REAL card games) Theyve used auction house systems before like in D3, and i don't see why being able to trade or sell your extra cards here and there would be such a bad idea if you do it correctly. A few of my friends have recently picked up the game but are only playing for free, since I have all but15 cards, it would be nice to be able to give them the extra's i keep getting in every pack. As far as buying cards goes, a very easy way is to use the system from D3, allowing people to buy a single card from another player for x amt, and then blizzard gets a percent of the price it was sold for. They could even set max prices for said cards so that everything all balances out with the gold and dust and everything. it would make hstone a more sociable experience imo. And even if they opt to not allow you to buy and sell cards, the addition of trading would at least be nice.
Another idea i've heard quite a bit is the additon of 2 headed dragon, or 2v2. I think this would be quite fun myself, not much to add about that myself, because ive never played MGT or any card games that have 2v2, but I don't see why not.
obviously new classes, skins, stuff like that would all be nice and welcomed additons as well
MORE DECK SPACE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY WOULD I ONLY WANT ONE OF EACH CLASS
another big one i would like is some kind of either DLC or collection of cards that are from other blizzard games, i would love to have SC heroes and cards. my idea on that would be to make it an expansion way on down the road, and sort of their own games kinda. Like you start it up, and when you play with say Diablo or SC cards, you can only play with those sets of cards. That way you dont have zerglings running around with demonhunters and murlocs lol
I do agree with you on adding additional formats, though. Lots of other card games have multiple variations/game types so I don't see why Hearthstone shouldn't.
ive read that article before, and it makes sense, but at the same time, this is an online game, and any platform you can use it on also has access to google. so that pretty much makes their arguement irrelevant, on this website there is a stickied thread about legendaries to help new players along with decisions on them. and in most cases, 2 rares or other cards under legendaries DO have more value than the actual legendaries do, lol.

I believe Blizzard is happy with their dust system, and wouldn't consider trading.
- I do say the dust system needs an overhaul though. Given some sort of metric, some cards should have their dust values scale upwards in disenchant value. For example DEing a Ragnaros shouldn't be the same dust rewarded as DEing a Millhouse/Tinkmaster. Perhaps have the servers track how many people craft "X" card, thus "X" card's DE value is higher. Or maybe check how many people DE "Y" card, so make cards that are not "Y" have a higher value. (Since obviously "Y" sucks) - Other features would be a chat mode. At the very least just in lobby where people can talk to each other. Personally I'd say also in-match. Just give an option somewhere to mute the opponent if you wish. A lobby could also take a visual look to it if they wish, with WoW characters hanging out in the tavern or w/e. - Spectator mode; let us watch other people's matches. Yes I know you can always watch your favorite streamer on twitch, but this should still be simple to implement. - Replay mode; offer a "do you wish to save this match?" to the end of matches. Sometimes you don't know how epic a match was going to be until the end, and you didn't have any recording going on. This would be quite helpful IMO. (Even better if you can see what was in your opponent's hand during the reply, to see how screwed you could have been, or if they missed lethal) - Improve AI, when the zoobots have better AI then the official ones... yeah... - Let the computer AI use a deck of yours against yourself. (Only if the AI is improved tho). That way you can see weak points in your deck while playing with other decks. Find counters so you can determine what to change to make it better. - Starter decks; things you can buy that contain some set cards in them. I like how you know what your getting when buying Naxx. The same can't be said for buying 40 packs. - Of course, more card expansions. - Increase gold income, perhaps by making the quests appear (or re-rollable) every 12 hours instead of 24. Perhaps Naxx (and future adventure) achievements with gold rewards. Naxx Dailies, etc. - .... and an android version...
That's at least what I can contribute at this time to the thread.
Edit: Oh right, also Basic vs Basic deck mode. Then a "Preferred timer" mode, where you can be matched with people who chose the same timer as you did. (Say, if you wanted to play with only 30 seconds per each person's turn.) Of course if nobody matches up with your timer, it'll just try to get the closest it can find.
Deckslots for free or deck export import (no excuses for this)
Multiplayer, not just 2v2, but 1v1v1.
Tournament hosting modes (including draft format tourney).
Replay system
Improved AI is a must if they want me to buy the next expansion.
Custom game lobbies with control over game state - I could go on a rant about this and how modern games took away the most player intensive part of any game experience: Making the game truly your own.
Observer mode is highly over rated for this IMO, not nearly required. Just get on the pro stream or share screen with the friend you want to watch.
I want fun and casual game modes. Like Random cards vs Random cards, 2vs2 (and onward), All Webspinner vs All Webspinner, etc.
I also want the ability to set up these modes when playing with friends. Imagine playing a game type where you have a bunch of friends and you all have to draft your cards, like in arena. You could set it up as an in game Tournament. Combine that with the upcoming Observer mode and I'd be overjoyed. I think the community would come even closer together, everyone would want to be friends so that they could play these types.
I doubt that last mode is ever going to exist though. What's the point of buying card packs if you can just Arena with your friends :\

Look at this article, addressing trading in an interview with a Hearthstone dev: What's Next for Blizzard’s Hearthstone

2v2 or group play is a nice addition but card trading will never happen since the game is already F2P.

Oculus Rift Support because reasons.
wish there's gold/dust trading :'(
You can't stop the signal.

Card trading?
We've seen play mode bots, and I don't assume people want AH bots.
No card trading. It will break the game.
