My excuse is that playing face Rogue is absurdly hard and I don't want to waste so much brain power when I could play something simple like Miracoli instead.
Um, I do play face decks sometime. Can be fun. I decided to play Aggro Shaman for a while just to understand it more when I go up against it. But I like to play a variety of decks - face, combo, mid range, control, whatever.
Of course the idiot control purists always think they're so much cleverer than everyone because they play control. We'll skip over the fact that most of them can't get past rank 15 but hey, at least they're playing the game the right way. Loser pride.

Hmhm, rogue. Okay, challange accepted. That should be fun.

You must be amazing at rogue if you think miracle is simple
Interesting provocation/proposal. There are reasons, tho.
facedecks have no control over the board, which is the core of the game. that's the reason for me.
basically you just drop stuff, hit face, and rely on your opponent for anything else (which is quite the real game). I hate my results to depend on someone else, even if I were to win most of the times (would it count as success?).
and if what I wrote does not apply to the proposed decks, then we're talking about aggro, not face.
Facehunter was the king of aggro once. Not because it was the best against the field (which is the popular myth), but because it crushed aggro decks like nothing else.
Then someone at Blizzard in a a fit of wisdom decided that aggro decks should have the highest health early game minions in the game. Because if they do the most damage, it stands to reason they should also be able to take the most damage.
And thus fell facehunter, who relied on actual damage - not broken valuecards. Hate the deck all you want, but atleast it didn't make boards that you can't even dent with AoE.
But facehunter is lurking around the corner with his classic cards. Waiting for the day when these imposters rotate out, and then he'll make you sorry you ever dared think that playing a low curve deck was a good idea.

Sorry but that's not how it works at all. This is a general misconception shared by most people who have never actually played face decks.
If you just drop stuff and go full face you will lose. Except maybe against Priest :) - playing aggro well is all about knowing when to trade and when to SMORC. The first few turns are crucial. If you ignore your opponent's board they'll eventually get control and then it's gg, no way back.
I'm not sure what the difference between face and aggro is. It's the same thing.

Explosive Trap works now as good as then, it doesn't hit 3-hp minions, but it does facedamage and kills 1-2-hp aggro minions.
I don't feel your excuse of high health minions actually works. Facedecks don't care if their health is high, we just ignore the board and go face. No way they can kill us faster than we do if they don't clear chargers, and if they do - they don't hit our face and slow down. Thus, we have hitpoints lead.
The real reason there is no aggro is because it was punished so hard in the past with renodecks and control. Those are not in the ladder now, so why bother?

Sorry, but it's you who fails to recognize aggro from face.
Aggro struggles to make as much early damage as possible. Face is just like burn in MTG. You abuse charge mechanics to hit face, you throw burn in their face.
Yes, all face decks have aggro opening cards, so they don't need to do as much direct burn damage later, but they don't care about board state. Everything that's not taunt (chargers can't hit face) isn't bothering us even a little bit. Those creatures are just our "timer" - how many turns do we have until they kill us. And in those turns we must burn their face to death.
Face (or Burn) wins because it's alternative win condition. It doesn't care about board control, it only cares about hitpoints. Heal is the only real counter. No heal - easy game.

I think misconception is yours then. :)
Face and aggro have different names because they are different things.
A facedeck only tries to surprise you by hitting face whenever possible, ignoring the board most of the times; sure, not always, some thinking is involved, but if you are systematically caring for board, you're not really playing face. An aggro deck is any deck that pushes as hard as possible, constantly and from the very beginning.
So, facedecks are a strict subset of aggro decks, but they don't coincide with.
eg: zoolock is aggro but not face: it tries to build board fast and keep it. Attacking face comes second for zoolocks.
Sorry, but it's you who fails to recognize aggro from face.

Well that's me told then. So by what you're saying then Freeze Mage must be a face deck - very interesting. Who knew?

I think this last bit might be your problem in this discussion. They're not the same thing (and face/SMOrc decks are more or less non-existent in the current meta).

Well, that's not the same.
Freezemage hits face with direct burn, don't OTK. So yes, he is doing practically the same thing and is vulnerable to same thing (healing, armor).
But he is doing it in a control manner. In a way, it's very close to HS meme definition of "Face" deck, but the lack of aggro component is critical destinction.
You can try to make Facemage, you'll be surprized how it looks much like freezemage, but with aggro opening instead of draw and control.
This meta is all about tempo/midrange decks, that never ever heal their face.
Why don't you benefit from the situation, and run just pure face deck?
I'm sure pretty much every class have some ways to make facedeck.
Facehunter deck example:
My excuse is that playing face Rogue is absurdly hard and I don't want to waste so much brain power when I could play something simple like Miracoli instead.
Make the Card: The biggest thread on the site!
My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
just straight up boring every game is the same.

Because i have a brain and i want to use it... is that enough?
I don't because, contrary to what you read on this forum, most pure face decks aren't really that good.
The only cancer in Hearthstone is its community.

Fair enough - makes sense.
