Is it just me? Before Naxx came out I was averaging over 6 wins in Arena. I made it to 11 wins once, but I was happy just getting to 6 or 7 most of the time. Since Naxx came out, I'm not sure what is happening. I got to seven wins once, but I feel like I'm averaging more like 3 wins now. Did the addition of the Naxx cards throw off my choices? I don't seem to run into too many Naxx cards when playing, but for some reason, I just can't seem to get to seven wins.
Yeah i noticed that aswell. I think the reason of this is that many old players came back to the game once naxx was released and we face stronger opponents who know what to play and draw. Before naxx there was many casuals around during daytime now i often see good decks at 1 or 2 wins already. Before it was rare now its like every arena run.
I finally got my first 12 with the second Naxx wing cards, I shouln't complain actually. But I also have to admit that other games don't went well (worse than usual) although I had the feeling that the range of player skill spread and I encountered some obviously unexperienced players (maybe new to the game due to Naxx release?).
Why is that unlikely? I have gotten 11 wins once, 9 wins once, and most of the time I get 6 to 8 wins. Except in the last two weeks or so, where I can't seem to get more than 6 wins. Most of the time I feel like I'm getting clobbered when I get to three wins, and am fighting to get anywhere from 4 to 6.
Agreed and also consider what time of day you play. It effects the skill level of opponent surprisingly.
What time of day is a good time to play? I generally am playing Arena between 9PM and 11PM West Coast time. (I have three kids so I don't really get free time until they are going to bed.)
I do not see a difference as well. The biggest impact on arena so far has Sludge Blecher, he is really an excellent pick. The creeper is persistent and the rest so far are not that great.
I'm playing the first arena on a long time and for now its 8-1 with a mage. I forcepick 2 of new secrets, but they work quite good if you pull it with the best minion, when trades go off and a x2 of the new 1/3 taunt that stop all kind of treats (especialy with mage power). Overall, i like the new cards for arena so far, a lot.
The chances of pulling non-naxx staples like fireball etc. have gone a little down making all decks a bit weaker and more mid-rangey meaning there are fewer really good decks. There's also fewer really bad cards proportionally so worst cards are a bit better.
Still, I've been getting unlucky recently getting steamrolled by newbs who play like flamestrike, swipe and holy nova aren't even cards.
I don't think that anything really changed. I have 5,28 wins on average (36 arenas), but my last 3 arenas after Naxx were 12-0, 4-3, 12-2, and I can't see any Naxx influence in it.

I think I'm talking about a smaller Sample Size then you are. After I learned how to play the game, and learned how to play Arena and started to play Daily, but before Naxx came out is the pool of the games I was talking about. Post Naxx, I'm probably averaging about 3 wins. The first month or so of playing, I'm not counting at all. Between the middle of June and the release of Naxx, is the "average" I'm talking about.
I'm not much for statistical analysis of a game I play for fun. But, in this case you are most likely right, the "long term average" is more than likely less than 6. But, since I only started playing at the end of May/beginning of June, my "long term" is probably different than your "long term".
That's interesting. My best runs have always been later at night West Coast time. But, maybe I should try playing during the day on weekends. And, I definitely am getting paired up later in the evening. I'm going to quit playing Arena after 10pm on weeknights.

Mayby u are right anyways its probably good idea to take a break from arena for now.

I have not noticed any difference. I also question that OP "averaged 6 wins" with never taking a deck to 12 wins. Seems highly unlikely.

lol best run i've had before naxx was 8 wins........... post naxx....i started getting 8-10 wins...
arenas need some luck/skills to make a decent deck...
then you'll need some more luck to draw certain cards, then you'll need some more skills to play certain cards
so overall...i dont think arena is tougher coz of naxx...so it's probably just your luck bro
