What we should take out of this is Barnes 1/1 enchantment can be SILENCED! You can take whatever minion he pulls out, silence it, and make it big again. Think of the possibilities! 

Basically he is saying purify is so bad he is taking out of arena, lol.

I'm very happy this video was made, and even more glad that Brode/Team5 were able to admit their mistake with a view to improving for the future.

Hey, at least the petition worked! (sort of). No Purify in Arena!

It is actually really nice that he admitted that purify was the wrong card to put into this set at this time. I do not, however, think he will recall it, and i also think he doesn't need to, but knowing the community they'll be at his throat about it anyways

I have so much respect for Ben Brode and Team 5 for making this video.

So here's what I got from his video:

• Purify was going to be a lot stronger. In some cases it was a straight upgrade to Silence, and other cases it's the card it is now, but at 1 mana. However, in both cases it was too strong for the Silence Priest deck they were testing with, so they had to make it 2 mana.
• They meant it to be a fun card, and they knew it wasn't going to be competitively viable. They hoped that the other Priest cards and the common would help with previous Priest decks, like Dragon Priest
• He admitted they fucked up with Purify.
• They're working on a new algorithm for Arena drafts that would fix the imbalance issues with cards like Flamewreathed Faceless. However, it's not ready yet, so for the time being Purify will just not appear in the Arena draft at all until the algorithm is done.
• They'll make better Priest cards in the next set (Yeah sure.)

So at least he admitted they fucked up. I give him props for at least saying Arena wise they're working on a fix. I just wish he would do more Designer Insight videos or else the series will just look like damage control and people would hate him more, even though he's not in charge of card design anymore.

So, instead of saying, "Hey, this card doesn't really work with one of our available mana costs, we should come up with something different".  They just nerfed it to unplayable and called it a day.  Wow.

They should have left it 1 mana, and make silence Priest viable. It would be fun to play. How broken could it be? If draw was the problem, it could have healed instead, or give +1 health. Respect for the video comment though.

Wonder if Silence will change to only effect enemy minions, oh yay...

I like how he addresses the mana cost of Purify. A lot of people have argued that the card would still be unplayable at 0 mana, but imagine an OTK Prophet Velen deck that uses Purify strictly for the cycle. 0 mana draw a card is actually pretty good, so from that perspective, the mana cost makes sense.  

Kudos to those who rallied and Kudos to the Design team to admit error and come up with a satisfactory compromise.

-He admitted the mistake and fixed the biggest issue with it. This is as much as we could have expected this close to release. Kudos to them. 

-We successfully put more pressure on Priest in the next expansion. 

-They successfully demonstrated they're listening.

This is as close to mission accomplished as it gets folks.
