Ya' know, the Adventure isn't out yet, how about they plug something else in instead, eh?
Or, how about, I dunno, the development team take 5 minutes to read up on any fan site (including their own) and find out what the community is interested in/looking for?
You didn't realize that the community was looking at what cards you were revealing for Priest?
Are they freaking serious right now? That's a level of incompetence that an empty apology doesn't cover. If they really cared, if Ben really realized that they messed up, they'd CHANGE THE CARD BEFORE THE ADVENTURE RELEASED.
As I've said a few times now, they can keep their card back, this is the first adventure that I will be purchasing exclusively with gold. They're not getting a cent from me, as it's the only way as a consumer that I can protest against their sheer, boldface, pathetic lies.
And by the by? I'm a total Blizzard fan boy. I still will be after this, I still am with their other IP's - I still believe in HotS, for goodness' sake.
I'm beyond furious. This video actually probably just made me MORE upset.
HS is one of the very few games that I really enjoy and will enjoy for long time to come. I am thankful for whoever came up with this game. It is a free-to-play game with the options to purchase. As much as my Kudos goes to HS community for rallying together to change the minds of the design team, I would not want to see these game become community dictated game designing. I think community rallying and complaining was to my liking this time around but what if in the future, I don't follow popular opinions and trust the design team more? The HS design team is the one that got me hooked on this game. I think I will trust them to maintain the good design in HS. If I don't enjoy the game anymore, I have option to look for another game I could enjoy.
Did he really say "Silence Deathwing"? I really don't get what would be the point of that.
When you silence a 1/1 copy of a minion (Shadowcaster, Herald Volazj), it turns into a regular stated copy, so Deathwing would be a 12/12 once silenced.

Yeah he meant a 1/1 copy of, I had missed that bit, cheers.
They created an annoying class, that can steal stuff, has strong removal, and can make high health minions that require a nuke to kill. Who likes playing against a good priest player that drags the game to 30 min then kills you with cards from your deck?
There was a most annoying deck thread here not to long ago. I think priest was mentioned the most.
Blizzard is walking a line between not completely pissing off priest players, and not making priest strong enough that it annoys anyone playing against priest. Ben would like priest players to be able "to play fun decks with Purify that aren't necessarily competitive".
Why not re-work priest so that several deck types can be competitive in standard? If Ben is smarter than a Unicorn, he should be able to figure this out.
I'm glad they were able to admit that the card came out at a bad time and also that it's a pretty bad card. I think it's funny that they only release 45 cards and some of them are meant to fit in fun wacky decks and not necessarily 100% try hard decks because it just shows how little they understand about the players. No one is playing priest right now and I'm pretty sure no one is making their own unique fun and wacky decks. I run into 1 or 2 wacky decks for every 30 net decked tier 1 decks on ladder, why give the weakest class a wacky card?
Wow Ben Brode's amazing. I'm so used to companies and politicians ignoring the masses, it's great to see the masses opinions not only being recognized by lead designers, but being responded to. And he could have rebutted and said, "well this card might be good in the future," but he literally apologized for the timing of the card with Priest's state in the meat. Good job Ben Brode.

I agree with you as well. I am a huge fan of all blizzard games and always buy the collectors editions of their games and expansions. However this will be the first adventure that I will buy with gold as this is looking to be one of the worst adventures yet (it can still be decent but doubtful)

This.
They still got 4 days to change a freaking text on a card if they realise they messed up. It's not like they have printed 20 million actual cards already and there is no way to undo that.
They have the tools.
Why BB making a fool of himself again instead ... it baffles me.
-He admitted the mistake and fixed the biggest issue with it. This is as much as we could have expected this close to release. Kudos to them.
I agree, it's a step. Getting actual feedback from a dev is a rarity, and with so many organizations–the NFL comes to mind for me–who almost never give a real answer when they're at the mic, it's nice just to have the communication that we were heard. And that at least some step of reconciliation was made here in Arena.

Just like a "worst" class will always exist, a "most annoying" class will exist, and just because Priest is terrible doesn't mean there isn't one. Think I'm not annoyed playing Warriors with 2 mana ping/draw card, 1mana kill spells? It's a beating. But mostly I think people are just annoyed if they lose. So if Priest could beat anyone, I suppose it'd become annoying again.
I don't care how a deck works, just that it works.

lol what, you're "furious" and "MORE upset" at a video about a video game? get un-triggered and get a life man! they're not gonna change the card text because they don't have time to test the cards. Purify is in the game, just get over it.
And if you think Purify is too weak, or Priest is too weak, go play another class...last I checked there were 8 other ones
I like how he addresses the mana cost of Purify. A lot of people have argued that the card would still be unplayable at 0 mana, but imagine an OTK Prophet Velen deck that uses Purify strictly for the cycle. 0 mana draw a card is actually pretty good, so from that perspective, the mana cost makes sense.
Except that you can't cast it at all if you don't have a friendly minion.

Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.
How much thought has Blizzard put into the Priest class. Because all three of these cards are derivative and not exciting. Ben talked about this Silence Priest that Purify will push but guess what, no one is gonna play that deck because that deck won't win. 99% of players will agree that winning is more fun than losing. Blizzard dropped the ball here. Lets hope they're able to make amends in the next expansion.
And yet you the 3 month player that loves aggro , uses shaman and hates control dares to make an opinion.
Learn to use decks that need thinking, not netdecking first 5 turns and conceding if outplayed. When you do it then you will be heard.
At the moment all your 34 posts are pure hate and aggro defend. I get you are a newbie and have 2 or max 3 aggro decks available only... But learn the game instead only to counter whine and accuse people of being stupid to use control.
I wish you queue only at LIFECOACH 24/7
If you don't like his posts just ignore him, but never stoop to the level of an aggro player, we control ones are obviously superior (as players of course, not as persons, do not misunderstand me).
I appreciate that he had the balls to respond; but I still can't believe he felt that this adventure was going to help Priest. He singled out Dragon Priest as an option but that's pretty much the only option. Looks like it's going to be several months before Priest gets any realistic help. I do think that all the fanfare is going to force them to significantly boost Priest in the next expansion. I really do. That said, there are literally no amount of excuses, apologies and videos that can be made to forgive them if they don't.
Meanwhile, Standard will be dead to me until then.

There is the possibility that this card becomes amazing in about 1-2 sets. His mention if printing it "now" makes it seem like it's a precursor to something yummy.
There's already some decent gimmicky reactions you can get with Purify, Silence, Wailing Soul. There's Barnes, Herald, so forth. It might be a trojan horse.
But for now, yeah, sucks to be a priest. Will suck for the coming months until the next expansion.
I think if Blizzard wanted to do some genuine community outreach, they could in between each expansion take a community vote on which class is the worst in the game, and then break that vote down as to a "Why?", maybe have like 5-6 responses and then design a "Sorry you sucked so hard last rotation card" to grant as a gift to all accounts. Nothing broken but something that might grab it out of the doldrums. A power 2 drop for Priest really would have been a huge leg up and it didn't get it. Something Shielded Minibot level of playable.
Great response, but nothing was offered as a consolation or solution to giving Priest a better card in standard play. At the end of the day, I care about Priest being a more ladder viable class so this wasn't all that thrilling. Basically what I heard was "We fucked up and we know it but you'll just have to deal with it until next expansion because short of barring Purify from Arena what you see is what you get, if you don't like it too bad."

Respect to him for this. Glad to see them admit that the card's poorly timed

Just swap the rarity of Purify with Onyx Bishop if the new drafting mechanism isn't ready. LoL
