Don't think there's been changes to it recently. Or if there have been, they certainly haven't informed us.
On average, you get one legendary per 20 packs. But if you're super unlucky and don't get any till 40, your drop rate increases and you are guaranteed one on your 41st or 42nd pack.
well im never getting anything. Only good legendary ive opened is twin emperor veklor, literally all others are useless. stuff like mukla and the beast is what i always get -_-
It's why I always say that you never rely on packs to get legendaries. The pity timer helps but it's still painfully slow and, more importantly, there's a TON Of bad legendaries, and no amount of pity timer will help you if you are opening Beasts and Boogymonsters. Packs are for commons and rares.
When you need epics and legendaries, you focus on dust so you can craft the cards you want. That's arena mostly. THus for legendaries, focus on learning and mastering the arena and not crafting cards you dont' absolutely need (which is a big point to packs-so you don't have to craft commons/rares).
I think the drop rate is overall like 5 or 6 percent but it is pseudo random.
You're about right. It's 5% with each card having a 1% chance of being legendary. THe pack first determines rarity of the cards, then determines what card to give you. Then there's a pity timer, where if you can manage to get 39 packs in the same set without a legendary, the 40th WILL be a legendary. Do read up on that for details though as peopl edo get confused on how that works.
But yeah, the VAST majority of legendaries you will ever get will be crafted. Once you fill out your commons/rares, packs are basically just dust packs.
you're guaranteed to get an epic card after a pity timer of 10 packs and a legendary after 40 packs
with the epics, that's correct but i'm definitely sure i opened way more legendaries throughout the year than now, it really feels like i get only 1 in 40 packs which never happened before.... something smells fishy here
I noticed it too , also the epic drop , the golden drop is really low . After Wotog comes out i had to open 40 pack for a legendary , and at least 70 % of them were only 1 rare 4 common.
After that i opened like 30 classic packs withut seeing any legendary and 90% of them were 1 rare 4 common .....
So its not a question of droprate , you have to open at least 20 packs to get a legendary and a maximum of 40 thats it .
tell that to a multi fucking billion dollars worth company that they "need" to make money :) they don't need money for the next 100 years
Last quarter, they made 1,455 million dollars. However, that's offset by them spending 994 million. That's nearly a billion dollars in bills in three months.
now yes, they are still making a lot of money. They are successful. But that's purely because they are still making money. They still "need" it since they are spending upwards of 4 billion dollars a year and those bills don't go away when they stop taking in money.
(yes, this is highly simplified, but I'm already pulling up financial reports to write a reply to a silly post about a card game to a person who may never read it so I'm not going to spend a few hours to get the exact numbers. Simple brings the point home.)
And the point is, billion dollar companies have to bring in billion dollar revenues because they take billion dollar expenses.
Sidenote, Kaspski where did you get your info about D3? That game isn't exactly the BS it was when it first launched and has had a ton of upates and fixes since those days.
Also Diablo 3 is the 10th best selling video game of all time. When you're beating CoD and Pokemon, you can't really say you failed.
Only way to getting legendies without paying money is Arena. More and more I enjoy Arena. With 5.5 wins rate in Arena, I am getting tons of dust and cards.
After something like a year of mediocre luck, I just had the best luck ever buying 40 Old Gods packs. I got a Ragnaros LL, Deathwing, Yogg, Golden Twin Emperor, and enough dust to craft and old Ragnaros...just from those 40 packs. I'm beyond ecstatic.
Is it just my idea or is it that the droprate of legendary's is extremly low at this moment. In my opinion its beginning to be very anoying.
What is your opinion ?

"Who am I? None of your business..."
And nope, I'm not a secret pally... Never was and never will be.
I opened 3 legendaries in the past 3 weeks from just opening a pack a day.
It's probably just my luck but the droprate seems higher tbh. Though, we can't all be winners.
RIP yogg-saron good things don't last forever :(
One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?

I find it too low as well.
I play this game since 2013 and NEVER opened a golden legendary.
Like, really never.

I got 2 out of 70 earlier i got 2 out of 3 pack 2 times
Do we need a thread for this every time somebody got unlucky?
Ive got 3 in 10 boosters last month, until now i got none in 20, its just random and thus luck reliant youll have downtimes its normal.
I average 1 legendary per ~40 packs. That's why I am not buying packs anymore, feels like the droprate of "value" cards have dropped.

it's low, but it is supposed to be low. They need to make money somehow. Otherwise there would be no game for us to play.
