Ok so we haven't really talked about how we felt about the new adventure but THIS is actually the first thing I thought of once the dazzle faded.
Ok, so IIRC, the adventure is coming in 2 weeks.. which puts it at about the 12th.
Meanwhile, the pelims for Summer's championships start in Europe.. on the 12th.
Even if they mean just 'the week containing hte 12th, meaning it could be on Monday the 9th. that's AT BEST 3 days of us having the new wing before the players must bring their decks to compete for a spot at blizzcon. Each of the other regions will be similarly shaken as new wings will open up on the same week as well.
A similar thing happened with Old Gods.
I remember someone suggested that championships should kick in right after a release to force the players into deck building as they'll have new cards but no meta or time for top decks to be properly tested and proven.
Proplayers must have deck-building in their skillset so It's ok to give them this kind of challenges. The majority of them ,then, have practicing groups to test with. Sounds fine.

Depends on how serious blizz want people to think about hearthstone. In no other card game I played before a set (in this case mini-set) has been released the same day a tournament event happens just because the new set would wreck the stablished meta, pro players need time to play test and practice their strategies, see how meta evolve the weeks right before the event, and adding a new set is just unneeded randomness for an already complex situation as a tournament, and something as huge as preliminaries for the biggest event of the game.
So, I think the new set shouldn't be released during preliminaries time, but considering is going to happen a preventive banning of the set for tournaments should be inplemented, and start planning a better schedule to avoid this situation again.

So what do you guys think about this concept?
One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
Karazhan cards should be banned in preliminaries.
