I honostly think people will read the first paragraph then scroll down to see how long it is, become shocked at the size of it, at the end of it they will see "Synopsis" and read that then either comment or exit the thread without reading anything else. And when they get some spare time in their hands or they are bored they will remember and be curious about the thread and go back to read it all :D
I woundn't say pointless but maybe unnecessarily long is the word. I'm not sure if you play the game right now (on cockatrice) or not, but I play a priest on wow, I'm mainly playing a priest on cockatrice and I'm gonna play a priest on hearthstone so I would like to help shape the future of the class in anyway that I can. And I'm sure all sort of feedback is appriciated by the developers. But thx for at least reading half of it :D
yeah i gave up after reading half of it too long and ...pointless
I think thats a bit harsh, it was a well thought out description of the current state of the priest class. Hopefully it will push the devs in the right direction for some of the changes that need to be made to the game. It may only be cockatrice games, but some of us have a fair amount of experience with the game now and as such our feedback should count for something.
I really liked the points about the unreliability of the class with number of cards and random effects. Another thing is the combo ability. Not many classes have great combos and I really think that needs to be addressed.
Hero_87 I understand where you're coming from but if you look at the combos you gave they are all late-midgame or later. Most oppoenents have an early game tactic which makes you lose before you can do that. Even if they have late game deck what happens is they use their ton of removal spells to gain board advantage by which you've lost tempo and struggle to keep any minion on the board. Sure at the very late game you can play a velen then mental collapse or mind blast but as I mentioned in the feedback opponents know velen is crucial so they go to extreme lenghts to get rid of him. By the time you can summon velen you will probably have very low health or have lost already, but can't it be done, yes it can be done. Can be done more than half the time, no I think not. Like I said priests do have some combos but they are very situational combos that are very dependant on you drawing, playing, keeping the card alive and not silenced. An example would be a mage spellpower deck with Archmage Antonidas. He's good to have but not a backbone to the entire strategy. In a warlock deck that focuses on he powering every turn to summon early strong minions; if you dont have twilight drake you get mountain giant if you don't get that you get molten giant but priest has no alternatives. Soulpriest and Velen are so very crucial. If you have Lightwell, you will either delay its summon until you can play a soulpriest or you will play it and hope they don't destoy it before you can summon a soulpriest. Because it's a heal it's also useless without dmg done. And Priestess of Elune is too expensive to play with Soulpriest you at least need a turn with her on the field and you need at least turn 6. Late game sure you can play her with soulpriest on the dame turn but my concern for priests is not late game. Priests do hell of a late game but they need luck to get to late game they are weak in early game. I'm not sure if you're thorycrafting or actually tried those tactics you mentioned. Cause either I'm bad at making decks around the tactics you mentioned (very possible) or in practice those tactics are hard to pull of because not only do you need to draw the card itself but other cards to make that card worth something. If you run a soulpriest deck you wouldn't wanna use lightwell or Priestess of Elune for her heal. And compared to other classes that need two cards to do sth (force of nature+savage roar) or just need any card to combo the one they have (bloodlust, windfury) priests have a disadvantage of sorts. Like I say in the op I'm not saying priests are useless or have no combo, I'm saying they are weak compared to other classes and lack flexability to their combos. Thank you Hero_87 and Bizniss for reading the post and you opinions on it it's much appriciated :D have a great day
I also just realised Priestess of Elune is not a viable Soulpriest card because it will deal dmg to you. The soulpriest does not change targets (as far as we know)
Oh saying I know where you're coming from means I can understand your logic and agree with you on some level :D Yh from a wow perspective priest might be good on hearthstone but from a card game perspective it's weak. Because in other type of games (or any multiplayer games) you can be victorious from a complete defensive game without any offence but for card games you can't just go full defence you need to be able to kill your opponent to win damaging him some is not enough you need to be able to finish him off before he finishes you. And you have limited cards. Try to think of it as a wow duel where you can only use 30 skills total same as your opponent and you can only use the same skill twice while also your skills are randomly determined.
As for cockatrice we don't make our own rules we use the rules already given to us and fill in the blanks with logic. Also the reason cockatrice games take long is not because the games are different it's because on cockatrice you have to do everything manually when in the real game more than half of it is automatic. I also haven't seen cheating but how should I know if my opponents are cheating :D
Hero_87 I see what you mean there are some severe noobs newbies (less insulting) on cockatrice, using skills on stealth minions, starting with 35 health, using Adrenaline Rush and whatnot. I guess it got more popular now it escalated from only pros dedicated to the game to anyone who just found out about the game.
I made very long and detailed priest feedback thread in the official forums with the link below.

blud priest is fine if anything it needs a buff. as a priest player i struggle with this tier 3 class. priest should be tier 1 bruv/blud.
