Same as you, rank 5 in every past season in Standard. Yeah I have a feeling that it could be easier to reach legend in Wild. Never tried but will try this season. Wild meta snapshot would be awesome. Idk whats the best deck in Wild currently but I will go with N'Zoth Secret Paladin.
I find that to rank 10, expect anything from Wild. After rank 10 it is what you'd expect from a normal meta. Lots of secret paladin, midrange hunter, tempo mage, and zoo. Rank 5+ you see the Freeze Mage/Control Warrior decks dominate. So basically just like pre-standard.
Hey guys, I am doing some wild decks for my youtube-channel from time to time and wild is much easier than standard. This has different reasons:
1. Not a single "pro" is playing wild because you don`t get any points for the tournaments (if you are a serious player going for the world championship etc. there is no way to play wild extensivly)
2. The lack of pros/streamer also results in very few public deck lists and the ones available are not particular always the best decks you can play.
3. The competition is therefore softer and there are few tryhard netdeck user in wild. You see variations of many different decks and no, not everyone is using secret paladin (still a strong deck of course but you have good alternatives as well).
As mentioned I am only playing wild on the side for my videos but I climb way faster in less games than in standard.
I went to rank 5 in both modes last season. I found it pretty equally difficult, but there were some noticeable differences:
-There were more variety in Wild. For me, the standard Zoo/Shaman/Warrior meta got pretty stale.
-At some points, Eater of Secrets was in almost every deck, no, secret pally is NOT a free ticket to legend in wild!
-In wild, you get matches a few leveles above and below you as fewer players are queing up. Rarely more than 2 though.
-The wild meta is FAR from solved, and if you are good at adapting/tecking, you should have an edge.
-There are plenty of new strong decks to be discovered in Wild, I lost badly to a deathrattle hunter built around Forlorn Stalker for example.
-Yes, zoo and secret paladin are strong, but in general, I feel the meta is slightly slower in wild because of the aggro nerfs and very strong wild stall cards + insane n'zoth the corruptor synergy.
This is just my opinion, but I think that for me at least it was easier to get to rank 5 in wild, but I imagine it's probably equally difficult to get to legend in either. I went to rank 3 in wild and standard both this last season and the one before. Part of my experience could be due to which decks I was using in which format, so take it with a grain of salt.
I got legend for the first time in wild last season, I can definitely say wild is EASIER than standard as they are less "pro" players. Also, you start to see the same guy from time to time and you also start to learn about their decks and play-style.
For me, if I keep queuing into someone who plays a deck that counters mine, I'll add him so that I don't queue into him again, lol. Also good to watch some of their games before you do your own run to get a feel of the meta at the moment and play the appropriate deck for it.
I think if I'm not mistaken, there were less than 200 legend players on wild, didn't see anyone on my list above 200 rank.
I would go for Midrange in your case, but you need to take a deck that you like/enjoy because you'll play it for a while and I couldn't climb a ladder with a deck type that I don't like.
You don't "need" Boom in a midrange; it's simply "Dr. 7" and pretty strong. You could pick a good deathrattle minion if you play with N'zoth or substitute him with a good 6-7 mana minion. You might be able to play Highmane on turn 6+7 and call of the wild on turn 8+9, but you'll need a bit more luck with your card draws.

I can tell that you haven't hit legend in wild. Lol there are no pros? How many pros do you play on ladder lmao? Who cares what the "pros" are doing when it comes to laddering...
Because of the lack of people rank 1 and 2 is super tight in wild. All the card sharks are there gobbling up dudes like this guy.

If you don`t care then that only shows that you don`t know how a meta is created and established. Without famous/succesful players who are showing a broader audience their creations the decks you are seeing are much more broader. You can see similar effects in tournaments for older card games pre-netdecking time. The slimer the available content is the more edge you get if you are good and can take advantage of the lesser talented crowd who needed to close the gap via copying other deck lists.
There are still enough people playing wild, legend has a couple of hundreds every month (which still equals a 6 to 7 digits numbers of players and that is more than you find in any other card game)
I finished above rank 5 for the past 3 seasons in standard but could't get legend yet . (Not high enough win rate for the time I had)
Do you think it would be easier in wild ?
And if so what would be the good decks there ? I can't seem to find a wild meta statistic anywhere .

I have no idea what adapting / tecking involves
And I hate slow control decks that like to stall time
So I guess I'll stay in standard where the meta is quite fast due to no many good taunts and heals .
Thanks for information .
Tbh, it is mostly about playing deck with secrets or not and swapping Eater of Secrets, Harrison Jones, Loatheb, silence and AOE in and out.

Wild can be faster - especially with Mech and N'Zoth Priest

Ok . So here comes the next question .
What deck would work well ?
I only have cards for zoolock (no implosion), aggro shaman(no crankle) and Mid Range hunter (no boom sadly).
I have 1300 spare dust but don't want to rush into crafting .
I would go for Midrange in your case, but you need to take a deck that you like/enjoy because you'll play it for a while and I couldn't climb a ladder with a deck type that I don't like.

Wild up until rank 2. Standard is the easiest to hit legend.
None. Both are hard
For me Wild is more difficult to climb, probably because it's meta is more unpredictable and I'm not playing Paladin.
Hall of Fame (ignore list): aleathas, Baylith, cendol, DiamondDM13, Dominieq, doomr, glitterprincess, hamtarofr, Heck, Jwigg33, Kaladin, Krewger, Legend_Entomber, libertyprime, Maukiepaukie, PandarenHero, randjob, s2mikey, SchruteBucks, The_Giratina, TheWamts, ticandtac, tictactucroc, tsudecimo, WaffleMonstr
One very important question:
How often do you meet taunts like Sledge Bulcher ?
I find Wild is much much easier. Especially if you can play any deck. (ie that you have all the cards)
