I don't understand why no one plays wild mode, I reached rank 3 recently and I had fun playing that mode. I went to the main page on hearthpwn and searched for wild decks, the most popular one has only 9 upvotes! Why is it so unpopular?
The problem is the general perception of "Wild Mode" at the moment is the place where all the Piloted Shredders, Haunted Creepers, Mad Scientists and Dr. Booms are at. It's not that people hate this mode... it's just that they really, really hate Naxxramas and GvG.
I think when a few more sets are added, and Naxx and GvG become a bit lower down the line, people will give Wild Mode more of a chance.
as a guy who got legend in both brakets ill say i prefer wild by a long shot, but standard is the only scene that is promoted, like for tournamnets n such and therefor is desireable for the pros and it is easyer for the newbs to get into.. so standard is for the pros and for the newbs
Wild is a place where people test out fun and innovative decks. But at the moment there are not enough cards to make the 2 modes a completely different experience. Maybe in the future there will be completely different meta's in each format.
I think people simply perceive Standard as the "real" mode while Wild mode is more sort of a weird off-shoot of casual. Even things like how when you open your collection only Standard cards are shown sort of subtlety promote the notion. It's also pretty clear it's the competitive mode, and people who look up and submit decks are going to have a much higher chance of being drawn to it as such (after all why look up decks if you're just playing for fun).
I really do agree with you though. I remember people saying if you didn't like the rotation system you would always have Wild and how Blizzard is going to try and keep it healthy, but it really feels like it's going to be the players that end up killing it.
Still, there might be some renewed interest when people get bored of Standard as the expansion drags on.
I got my easiest rank 5 ever this season in wild with my OP secret N'Zoth paladin. It is so strong it's ridiculous, lol. I think my WR must be around 85%. Not sure. I was even playing while drunk half the time. Standard is where I do quests in ranked with decks I'm not that good with. Rank 16 there at the moment...

I'm a cake. Cakes don't speak English. Please, do correct any grammar mistakes I make, even the most minor and insignificant ones.

This is exactly my experience. Sludge Belcher, Antique Healbot, and Dr. Boom in every game of Wild I've played.
I played my fair share of Wild (up to rank 4) and I mostly enjoy the format. I am okay with most cards from Naxx and GvG - I have no problem with mech decks, sticky zoo, secret paladin and so on... but every time either Sludge Belcher or Dr. Boom is played I get the urge to switch to Standard again.
For me it's really a couple of cards that spoil the whole format. If Blizzard just nerfed these cards I'd definitely play Wild a lot more.

That'll be the problem with Wild forever, simply because those cards continue to exist and will forever be better than anything released after them so they'll always see play. The fact they're neutral only makes it worse as regardless of which Hero you're facing, you'll always be facing those same cards.
I'd love to play wild because of variety... if there weren't drops like Dr. Boom or Mysterious Challenger + Avenge, just to name a few... That's not variety, that's just peaks of unbalanced game, not even part of particularly refined synergies! I hated them before, I am hating them now.
Either they finally decide to balance wild out, or they make tech cards with no particular downside, so that players can tech up without losing significant power on their own deck. Specific, hardcounter techs that are excellent in some situations and just bad in others are bad design IMO (see Acidic Swamp Ooze vs Eater of Secrets... eater should simply be "destroy all secrets" with fixed 4/4 body... THAT is a tech card).
Until that happens, wild is sadly dead to me.
Complicated, wild synergies are ok. But "wild" should not be a label to hide mindlessly wild drops...

look at the secret N'zoth and its easy to understand why ppl don't like wild. You are going to face those secret paladins in alot of games and they are even more retarded then face shaman.. (no hard feeling to that post i just rly don't like secret paladins, dr boom and shredders :))
no room for Doom in my deck ;-)

If you play on high ranks, yes, but if you are interested in laddering, why come in the fun mode anyways? I'm staying below rank 10 and enjoying my win streaks with my Control Warlock. Seen only one Secret Paladin in Wild.
I personally love Wild. Of course, I don't play on the highest tiers of the ladder, or anything. I rarely face secret pally, and most decks I do see are kinda netdecked, but they're mostly different. It's not like standard, where EVERY Druid is ramp, EVERY rogue is miracle, EVERY shaman is face.

It is used but it's the fun mode so people don't net deck there, that's why you won't find any wild decks in Hearthpwn.
Like someone said before me, Naxx and GVG is what's wrong with wild mode
Whoever designed Jade Idol and thought it was a good and healthy card for the game has clearly never played HS.

The problem is that people are farming the low ranks in wild. They get 5+ in standard, then go to wild farm.
Also, there is no meta snapshot in wild, so people cant netdeck so efficiently.
I also like wild, but i´m enjoying standard at the moment.
f2p, playing for fun ^^

That's why I suggest nerfing meta defining neutrals as soon as the rotate out of standard.
As much as I am not fond of the idea of nerfing cards being the solution, I'm at a loss as to what would be a better idea...
