If you are "new" you don't need to reach legend. You play your shitty deck and upgrade it in increments. Each upgrade will feel very satisfying and each rank you can climb will feel rewarding. There is no need to feel "terrible" about them. You don't just start LOL and be a competetvie player either. You need to earn exp, unlock heroes and glyphes etc
But that's HAAARD and it requires EEEFFOOOOFORT! I'm 5 and I've been playing HS since May 1st 2016 and I WANT LEGEND NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW!
THIS GAME SUCKS! I WANT TO BE A LEGEND NOW! I'm so entitled I want everything handed to me! I don't care that others spend years and hundred of dollars to get where they are now, I want that TOO! MOMMY!
So when everyone is saying I think a new player should not get farmed into oblivion and rank 15 is possible.. you come back with I HAVE TO BE LEGEND... asshole still puckering up to be a bigger asshole. What will your final form be?
If you can't compete in a competitive play mode, you don't deserve the rewards that competitive mode brings you.
It's that simple, if you're not good enough, you won't be rewarded, the spoils go to the victor.
This confirms it, you're either a complete imbecile or a troll.
Seeing that I cannot personally attack you here, I won't call you an imbecile instead I'll assume you're just fucking with us and report all of this forced stupidity.
Call me what you want it looks more childish that you want to reduce it to haves and have nots and the have nots in this case have to also be imbeciles in your mind... Sure hope you don't act this way out in the real world. Do you support barriers between everything and the common folks? When your only argument is gtfo and git gud its really hard to take you seriously even as long winded as most of your posts have been. Bullshit wrapped in bullshit is still a bullshit sandwich and no one wants to buy your bullshit wrapped bullshit sandwich apparently.
What are you disagreeing with exactly? With the fact that there are tier 1 decks at rank 20? Or with the fact that casual exists?
Why not both? casual exists and contains just as many people who are doing their dailies in their tier 1 decks as at rank 20 in standard or wild. Unless you have evidence to state the opposite I feel like the grind on ladder at least offers the chance of some dust for the trouble at the end of the month.
In Ranked there's a minimum rank that you can't drop below of. In Casual there isn't, which means that whenever you are facing too skilled players, there's always a lower level. Unlike in Ranked.
Bullshit wrapped in bullshit is still a bullshit sandwich and no one wants to buy your bullshit wrapped bullshit sandwich apparently.
Do I support common citizens not being able to compete in Formula 1 races with their 90hp street cars?
Yes.
I want to enlighten you about the Formula 1 series and Hearthstone its not quite apples to apples. Formula 1 owners are all billionaires and their are plenty of subsequent racing leagues before Formula 1 that you can take your 90hp street car to. In fact you could even win one of those races at the lowest level and win money to go to the next level. It's a bit archaic to assume the 90 hp street car team will be in Formula 1 but they might get to the next rung.
That system is not in Hearthstone. They do not have ladder for beginners. They have a choose your own adventure of being grinded by tier 1 decks currently or hope that you can break even or better at 150g a pop arena. (Not every new player is going to see net gains on this situation)
When the guys who are bought into the system say go home and get out of the lowest tier of the competition is speaks volume for how out of touch those people would seem. Rank 20 isn't the problem its the people allowed to grind rank 20 that do not belong there that is the problem. Plain and simple. If that still feels like entitlement then I can't help how you decide to comprehend information.

My wife is one of those players with a good collection around ranks 18-20. It is possible for players with a decent collection to be down there just by learning a class or not being very good. She plays for fun, has not interest in learning other cards so she makes some horrid plays by playing into cards.
I coach her a lot, and I come across a lot of players that are really good. Full wallet warriors playing optimally, N'Zoth Pallies with full list, and a ton of Aggro Shamans. Right now there aren't a lot of free wins there, I see more optimal lists at those ranks than suboptimal.
tldr; ranked is competitive, even at the scrub ranks.
This, if you enter competitive mode, expect competitive decks.
Fun and basic decks a usually found in Casual and Brawl, with the occasional top tier decks being used for practice, or quests.
OP is just being unrealistic and stubborn while ignoring the 3 additional modes made for fun, quests and building a collection form nothing.
Conceding to drop in Ranks on purpose is considered Win Trading, I hope Blizzard will come up with a solution to this and ban you all who abuse the system.
Just because you cannot be caught in the act, doesn't mean it's not against the TOS.
LOL, no.
Win trading does involve conceding on purpose, but the "trading" part of it means you are colluding with another team to use the technique to intentionally boost each other's ratings. It has nothing to do with a lone player losing (or conceding) to random people at low ranks.
I'll just go ahead and note that a more fun way to intentionally keep yourself at low ranks is to play a bunch of games with a wacky, fun deck that's not necessarily competitive. Then switch back to the good decks when you're ready to grind those golden portraits.

He's exxaggerating but he still has a point. Thinking that you should be able to compete at rank 20, or even 22 when you start playing is just as stupid, naïve and childish as wanying to immediately get to Legend rank.
The community is toxic because it latches on to only the extreme examples. A person not happy with tier 1 deck grinding wins at rank 20 is now entitled and a free to play account is easy because a pro navigated it to legend. That's it no in between just those two things. Obviously on this forum you only get to choose between Hitler or Jesus... you guys should help make a Fable based consequences game with that logic.

The way to solve the rank 20 issue is a overhaul of the ladder system. It needed one for a long time now, and it's not only because of rank 20 farming.
Still, this doesn't solve the problem with your MMR being too high in casual as a beginner.

Also consider that a lot of players playing at level 20 often give up playing if they can't get many wins. That in turn leads to the level 19s becoming the new 20s, who may also consider giving up. Sometimes this continues and the player base ultimately shrinks. On the other hand if you have a lot of level 20s playing who aren't becoming discoraged, they rank up and push other players forward thereby lowering the barrier to entry.
I am a new player, started about a week ago. I was able to make it to rank 23 this weekend in 4 matches but I quickly ran into decks impossible to deal with with my basic starter cards. I decided to give casual a shot, expecting the competition to be a little softer, but I was wrong, I ran into the exact same thing in casual as I did in Ranked.
I am not giving up for now, but I decided to stay off matches until I can sink in at least a $40 of packs. I am not gonna lie, if I didn’t know I can afford those packs, I would probably have moved on to another CCG

You continue to avoid the issue of people grinding wins at rank 20 who have no business there. If there was a reward system and a place for people with under X amount of games to play a competitive branch of the game... there would be no issue or at least a substantially smaller issue. Manchester United doesn't go down to the lowest league in England and kick the shit out of people all season long then walk off saying... lol spoils to the victor. We make rules to prevent stupid shit like that happening the vast majority of the time... and yet not at all in HS. not in ranked not in casual not in standard not in wild. Address that point or fuck off.

Glad you have the heart to stick with it. Just don't run into people like Corventus who clearly sees you as a second rate citizen. What class did you start on the ladder with and any reason why ?

If someone doesn't have either the patience, money or intelligence to enjoy Hearthstone, they should just look for a different game play.
Why do something you don't enjoy or can't get good at?

It's not healthy in either scenario long term for the game.

That's a lot of implications you're making.
Telling casual player to play casual modes is doing them a favor, not patronizing them.
