Perhaps they're trying to farm for Golden Heroes with minimal resistance. I'm not going to try to win 500 games on a hero in Legend rank on Standard when I can just farm rank 20's on Wild.
I'm not intentionally trying to terrorize new players. I just want my Golden Hero portraits without having to spend half a year on it.
You can earn a golden hero in 3 seasons, also win trading is against the rules, I hope you get banned.
Pathetic.
What? Using a top-tier deck at rank 19 is not against the rules, and it has nothing to do with win trading.
It is very, very possible in this meta to have an expensive deck and still be a weak enough player than you struggle at rank 19. There is no reason or justification for accusing anyone of doing it deliberately -- but equally, it's not a big deal if they do. (Not to mention, completely impossible to prove unless they are using a bot, which is against the rules.)
I'm certain, however, that no one is doing it just so they can maliciously beat up on newbies. Selfishly, perhaps, in a few cases. But for the most part, I suspect they are just bad players with good cards.
Though this game is called "free-to-play", it never meant to be free - its either your time or your money you pay with.
I have two accounts, one of them free. It took me like 5 months of dailies with some breaks to unlock all adventures. Yes, it was a bit frustrating to play from scratch, but it was at least good deck building experience, now after a year or so it has some very playable decks, like control Chtulhu warrior (not that legendary-heavy tho), Patron, Renolock etc. Basically i can even make some Nzoth priest\pally if i disenchant my golden VanCleef.
Never went higher than rank 5 on it, but basically its just a question of time i don't have.
So everything is possible, just don't expect to progress too fast.
If you are "new" you don't need to reach legend. You play your shitty deck and upgrade it in increments. Each upgrade will feel very satisfying and each rank you can climb will feel rewarding. There is no need to feel "terrible" about them. You don't just start LOL and be a competetvie player either. You need to earn exp, unlock heroes and glyphes etc
New players, especially new f2p players have no business in Ranked. The time you spend beating you head against a wall could be spend doing constructive things in Arena earning cards, gold and knowledge or having fun in Casual and Tavern Brawl.
At this point I'm contemplating if I should report all your posts so far for trolling, because nobody can be so stubborn and ignorant.
The troll is in the mirror my friend. You saying that a F2P has no business in ranked trying to attain a rank 15 (NOT LEGEND like you seem to keep bringing up) is a country club mentality. And as you can see people are fessing up to being those rank 20 grinder tier 1 net decks for easy wins on the new accounts. It's happening and its not a good thing for anyone you can keep saying everyone get off your lawn but that seems mostly because it doesn't effect you. It's easy to be intolerant and apathetic when it doesn't directly effect you. And your pandering speaks volumes to that fact.
This confirms it, you're either a complete imbecile or a troll.
Seeing that I cannot personally attack you here, I won't call you an imbecile instead I'll assume you're just fucking with us and report all of this forced stupidity.
I think that the core of the problem is the failed rank system that HS currently has in place. Meaningly: the ranks are simply too few to accomodate the needs and levels of different players. That's causing all the problems: there is no climbing nor sense of progression in your nephews' case (apart from the universally not-considered ranks between 25 and 20). The transition simply isn't there.
I agree that the rank system could be handled better but the top brass around this site feels like you have to put in your licks in the arena until you are tall enough to be part of the big boys club. Thats the inherent issue with this mentality of "we did so you should have to do it exactly the same" it sounds like a frats explanation to why they still haze pledges. But in this case the pledge can also just hand over a couple hundred dollars and be through it also... maybe that happens in frats also...

As one of those new players trying out ranked for the first time, it's super frustrating. I'm not f2p completely, but by no means am I running a tier 1 deck packed with legendaries. I'm just trying to push rank 15 but can't even make it that far, I keep sliding between 16-17 because inevitably I run into a golden portrait/full golden control warrior or miracle rogue just pissing around the low ranks for some reason. I really don't understand it. I don't know if they just got a late start this month or something but it's very frustrating to run into repeatedly.
there are tier 1 decks that runs very little legendaries y'know. Try going against face shamans, or u can build a face shaman deck urself.

Conceding to drop in Ranks on purpose is considered Win Trading, I hope Blizzard will come up with a solution to this and ban you all who abuse the system.
Just because you cannot be caught in the act, doesn't mean it's not against the TOS.

Call me what you want it looks more childish that you want to reduce it to haves and have nots and the have nots in this case have to also be imbeciles in your mind... Sure hope you don't act this way out in the real world. Do you support barriers between everything and the common folks? When your only argument is gtfo and git gud its really hard to take you seriously even as long winded as most of your posts have been. Bullshit wrapped in bullshit is still a bullshit sandwich and no one wants to buy your bullshit wrapped bullshit sandwich apparently.

But that's HAAARD and it requires EEEFFOOOOFORT! I'm 5 and I've been playing HS since May 1st 2016 and I WANT LEGEND NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW!
THIS GAME SUCKS! I WANT TO BE A LEGEND NOW! I'm so entitled I want everything handed to me! I don't care that others spend years and hundred of dollars to get where they are now, I want that TOO! MOMMY!
Without question, LOE is the first thing new players should buy with in-game gold.
Ryan is there a definitive guide for new players that you could link for this forum? Something gives the step by step for what to purchase first with gold? I think that would certainly help the new players that are chiming in.

What are you disagreeing with exactly? With the fact that there are tier 1 decks at rank 20? Or with the fact that casual exists?

So when everyone is saying I think a new player should not get farmed into oblivion and rank 15 is possible.. you come back with I HAVE TO BE LEGEND... asshole still puckering up to be a bigger asshole. What will your final form be?

Why not both? casual exists and contains just as many people who are doing their dailies in their tier 1 decks as at rank 20 in standard or wild. Unless you have evidence to state the opposite I feel like the grind on ladder at least offers the chance of some dust for the trouble at the end of the month.

He's exxaggerating but he still has a point. Thinking that you should be able to compete at rank 20, or even 22 when you start playing is just as stupid, naïve and childish as wanying to immediately get to Legend rank.
My wife is one of those players with a good collection around ranks 18-20. It is possible for players with a decent collection to be down there just by learning a class or not being very good. She plays for fun, has not interest in learning other cards so she makes some horrid plays by playing into cards.
I coach her a lot, and I come across a lot of players that are really good. Full wallet warriors playing optimally, N'Zoth Pallies with full list, and a ton of Aggro Shamans. Right now there aren't a lot of free wins there, I see more optimal lists at those ranks than suboptimal.
tldr; ranked is competitive, even at the scrub ranks.

I think the best answer has always been: play arena.
Not to my knowledge, but definitely start with the latest adventures, as it will be easier for new players to succeed in Standard rather than Wild, and they are better value compared to buying packs, and the newest adventures will be the rotation longest.

hihihihihhi
People who refuses to play aggro out of principle are even worse than people who play exclusively aggro.
One should seek to become a complete player and play all archetypes, including ones that he despises for whatever irrational reasons.
