I remember pretty much dreaming of that legend cardback back when I was still new, and I have ground several hours with several decks to get there. I tried my hardest, and whenever I saw the meta changing as I climbed I changed accordingly to it. I remember there being a lot of decks such as aggro shaman, zoolock etc. but once I hit legend I was ever so excited. I had finally done it.
But now I've started wondering: How much is legend really worth? I mean, there are players who've gotten legend when Hearthstone was still new and everyone was awful at the game (I remember seeing someone hit legend in one of the first seasons with a murlock), there are players who've gotten legend while they were being mentored by coaches they had payed for, and I think this is the one that mostly occurs: There are people that have gotten legend with decks such as: Combo druid, secret paladin, zoolock. aggro shaman, facehunter, aggro paladin; you name it.
Now this isn't a salt thread, but I remembered looking up to someone with a legend cardback, and now that has just fully disappeared because I can never be sure how and with what deck he got it. Now obviously, this isn't something that Blizzard can fix. But I wonder, am I the only one that feels this way?
I got the legend cardback and I don't use it. When I see someone with it I think "He may be good but also may have a shitton of time and could have used a very easy deck, like face huntard". Getting to legend is a waste of time imo. Did it once, probably never again
Yeah I aggree on that. It basically took a lot of grinding which wasn't very fun to be honest. There are people who get legend every season but I would never do that. The first 25 days of the season I mostly play fun decks anyway, and then I grind to rank 5 to atleast get a golden epic.
Why there is big difference legend reach with which deck? Matter not faceshaman or old gods pala, all legends are good and best than most others. Worth is priceless for legend back.

Well, I'm sure that most people would have way more respect for someone getting legend with miracle rogue than aggro shaman (just examples). Matter of the fact: Miracle rogue takes way more skill than aggro shaman.
I still dream of the moment when i can use that legendary cardback. I don't really care what others think of it, but for me it's kinda like the end goal of Hearthstone .. That one final boss you have to beat. When I finally reach it, if I ever do .... I'll use it proudly and don't care what others think about, because I know how hard it was for me to get!
Yeah, but it feels like you've beaten the game on hard mode when you do it with a deck like miracle rogue, freeze mage etc. and on easy if you do it with for example aggro shaman.
People saying "he got easy legend for using deck X" don't really know how things work. Of course there are decks more competitive then others, but once you hit the high ranks, everyone plays fully compete tube decks, and any single deck won't carry you.
At this point you have to adjust to get ahead. When a so called "OP deck" appears, lots of people play it. And if you are not better than the others playing the same deck, you will inherently not get above 50% win rate against them.
Well, you can easily reach legend with an aggro shaman without having to put too much thought into it. Every turn pretty much plays itself. It's pretty much a gamble because all you can do is play your minions on curve and make favorable trade; there really isn't that much of a thought process involved. And obviously, there is a point where you can't keep cheesing out wins with an aggro shaman by just playing your minions on curve and primarily going face, but I believe that point is already past the legend-mark.

He is not wrong, it's like differentiating players who beat the game on easy difficulty and hard difficulty, hardest being to get legend with an original non-netdeck. Aggro decks are the easiest and fastest way to do it. To people who think that aggro decks require the same amount of skill that control decks - have you ever played both? Of course Hearthstone is not a skill based game, but when you play control vs control it sure is handy.
I always had more luck with control decks than aggro. At higher ranks, aggro is easy to counter and can only prey on bad opening hands. In todays meta, aggro is weak. I'm currently playing Miracle rogue and has 70% winrate. Sorry guys, I do not buy into this "elitist" saying that aggro is easy. It was easy in the undertaker meta but not today.

Aggro shaman is currently the strongest deck in the meta, so saying "aggro is weak" seems kind of ridiculous.
Aggro is easy in the sense that you can actually get a fairly high rank by pretty much playing cards that are green and going face. At a higher level, they're not easier than most other decks though.
The difficulty of getting legend varied in many ways, players should be rewarded with a different card back for reaching legend with different classes, which I personally consider a better way to measure the achievement of getting the legend rank.
I don't have the legend card back, yet. For me, it is incredibly difficult to get past rank 15 and I have been playing since Feb 2014. I think the main reason for this is that I don't use net decks. I look at these decks to get ideas and make my own and look at them to understand what is powerful in the current meta, but I object to conforming to the same old drivel most people play. I guess I am being stubborn because HS is a game where you just have to play net decks.
The ranked system needs an overhaul, anyway. Hearthstone ranked play should be fun, not a grind!

No, it is not. Even the midrange variants are superior to the aggro shaman deck.
On the other hand I agree that aggro decks are great for flying through low ranks.

No point in arguing but pretty much no one would agree with you.

You are simply wrong on that.
I don't think I am. I actually played aggro shaman for a short time back when I had this though process that I didn't care what I used to reach legend, as long as I got it. I got to rank 3 with it and then quit because it was too boring. I hadn't played aggro shaman before, but there was very little though. Seriously, the hardest calculations I had to make were the ones where I had to ''calculate'' how my next turn would play out and what my opponent had in his hand.

Not giving much for the "Legend" Cardback either.
If people are proud of their own, is up to them, i would never said they couldn't be happy about it - But it dosn't impress me.
If Blizard ever sells 'Legend' cardback, I might buy it.
I believe given enough time, everyone can get Legend.
But some people really don't have the time to grind, what with work, spouse, children, debt, obligations etc

For me the value of the Legend cardback dropped in the SecretPaladin era :( Its still nice and I keep useing it but so many players got it by now..

Yeah, wishful thinking isn't going to make it true though sadly.
