I dunno. This standard mode got hyped up pretty good and everyone was just chomping at the bit to get rid of certain cards, mainly shredder and boom. But, standard mode is really just the same exact problems al over again but with different details. you still have obnoxious, OP decks. You still have a large player base milking those decks. You still have some cards that are way too powerful for what they cost. You still have some "must include" cards that show up in pretty much every deck. How is this different again? It isn't. At all.
Now, playing wild mode and seeing and using WOG cards mixed in has been a lot of fun IMO. Some new decks to play but we still get to enjoy the old tried and true stuff instead of this new crap. It also seems way harder to win in standard mode. Just too bad that they couldn't have just slightly nerfed a few cards and added WOG cards to what we had. No reason to break this up like they did. Really sucks.
I'm kind of torn. So nice to see Piloted Shredders, Belchers, Dr. Boom....not plaguing like every deck. If they addressed these auto include neutrals they probably wouldn't need formats to keep everything fresh.
The reason Wild is more fun and diverse right now, is because all of the try-hards converted to Standard and stranded themselves there by disenchanting all of their Naxx and GvG cards.
Currently Standard's ladder is very stale and repetitive, while I've been seeing a lot of fun looking decks on Wild's ladder. lol
Standard was introduced to slow power creep and to drastically change the meta every year, not to eliminate the problems you listed.
Standard was made to ease newer players into the game (as it requires them to memorize less cards), and to allow the creative team behind HS' R&D more room to work with overall. Not due to w/e you said.
It may not last; but Wild is currently a far more diverse and entertaining mode than Standard. I rarely see Dr. Boom; certainly far, far less than I'm seeing C'Thun and N'Zoth. And Eater of Secrets has been teched into a lot of decks keeping Secret Paladin and Freeze Mage in check.

It was actually done for both. There were half a dozen reason behind the decision, I just listed a couple.

Its so true...I have played over a week in Wild, and I don't think I have seen Dr. Boom once lol

I win due to skill and lose due to bad RNG. :D

No card in wotog is even close to being half as prevalent as shredder, boom or belcher were.
