Sent you a hateful message including telling me to kill myself as well as calling me the 'N' word. They immediately unfriended me after saying it and all I have is a partial screen shot that I took with snipping tool to share in a discord. Now while this person didn't really upset me, I can see him possibly really hurting someone else.
I added him as we were playing tavern brawl and he was playing a mech deck that was almost a for sure win. I managed to win and thought he might have added me to talk about the battle or whatever. Obviously i'm stupid.
Since I couldn't report him through the client is there a way I can contact blizzard to inform them of this person. I have the picture of his message that includes his username but would rather send it to a blizzard person through PM to save either that person harassment or others from having to see his hateful message.
Detective Google is on the case:
"Since the report function is well hidden and many of you might not know this yet, here's a quick guide on how to report a player in Hearthstone:
Step 1: Accept friend request.
Step 2: Tab out of Hearthstone and open your friends list from the Battle.net launcher. Right-click on their name and click on "Report". A report-window pops up and remains, even if they unfriend you.
Step 3: Say "hi" and wait for their response.
Step 4: If they harass you, copy pasta everything they wrote into the report-window, change reason to "Harassment" and "Send Report".
Step 5: Thank them for adding you, so you were able to report them and remove them from your friends list."
Perfect, thanks Zalgo_Cometh !
No problem. Seen it happen enough. Happy to help.

Just an ordinary guy trying to live an extraordinary life. Oh and make decks along the way for funsies.....^_^
There is no way to even partially accept such behaviour
Ignore it, don't accept it, can't you tell the difference ? The op is obviously seeking revenge, nothing else. There is no way to accept such behavior either.
Did you call the police everytime someone told you "asshole" or "son of a bitch" in real life ? No you didn't. Why should you do that online ?
Yea...that happened to me as well. Basically, they way to prevent this, is by observing his emotes during the game? If he's the type that never greets you, and 'threatens' you when you kill him, and all of a sudden you receive friend request from him, just be smart and decline the request.
In fact more funny it was for me is that, a friend I added months ago after we had an epic game, suddenly send me a 'Fxxk you', followed by an 'Opps' then defriended me two days ago . Guess he send the message to the wrong guy ROFL
I did contribute earlier in the thread. But that doesn't matter cause this thread will be locked soon. Nice work flame baiting and trolling this thread like you always do. Again...nice post count
And for the rest...jesus, are you insane? There is no way to even partially accept such behaviour, more so with argument "you've added him, your fault". Its not about "take a heat" or "some conversation is polite for some and rude for others." When some throws racist slurs, says you to kill yourselv or to get you mother cancer, its not wheter you are too sensitive. No, its about basic decency and normal behaviour. And every sentence that is defending such offensive behaviour or is implying that OP deserved it is just helping to create toxic community.
This. I've got thick skin and can troll with the best of them, but the abusive comments in this game are to the point where I rarely bother accepting friend requests from strangers anymore - while the tirade of slurs and insults was amusing at first, it's gotten boring and predictable. While I have made a few genuine friendly connections and had some great post-game conversations after matches, these are absolutely a rarity.
Why Blizz won't implement a basic "report" function in this game is beyond me. Doubly so on Mobile (my primary method of playing HS) where the workaround of alt + tab'ing out of hearthstone for a moment to click on the person's name in your bnet friends list doesn't work. Seems like focusing on building a constructive community ought to take priority over .:ESPORTS:. but what do I know right?
You shouldn't add strangers. Because as it's clearly evident here, a majority of HS players are salty neckbeards/sore losers in general.
What you can do is send an email to Blizzard's customer support with that screencap you took of what that player said to you. Make sure their name/battletag is visible and explain clearly what happened. That's the best you can do, sadly. From there on, Blizzard can choose to take action or not.
The only issue with a "report the player" button in the game's UI....it can be abused like no tomorrow. These people who send friend requests, and then cuss you out etc. They will just hit the "Report a Player" button, just so they can try and get you banned from the game

Alright... So Blizz looks at chat history between two players when one reports the other (assuming player is being reported for harassment, not cheating or the like.) Most of the time, it'll be pretty short, and if somebody abuses the report button, say, five times, take away the report button (gray it out, or physically remove it from the UI, or give a notice that you have been abusing it). Plus, make it so that somebody can open a ticket if they think they have been wrongly punished. The number one thing: Make reporting available as a feature on mobile. I almost exclusively play on mobile, and if this was desktop only I would cry. (OK not really... But I would want to)
Alright ladies, i'm sorry for asking and getting you all riled up. I'm not out for revenge. I frankly don't care. I laughed at the guy. If I wanted revenge i'd share his account name and get people adding him to mess with him, I have enough people to do it in my community.
I simply don't like someone telling people to kill themselves over a game. I've had friends who committed suicide and i know that some people can take things like that to heart. But ya know internet hur hur hur feelings are dumb.
Anyway thanks to those who posted actually trying to help. I can't take the steps someone listed as the guy unfriended me immediately so I had no access to the report feature.
To restate again since some of you still missed it the last two times it was said "He didn't upset me" I don't give a shit, i'm thinking about other people and those families who might lose loved ones cause some lonely, pathetic person told them to kill themselves cause they got their teeth kicked in by a girl with a better deck.

People will probably be talking in this thread for a while (myself included, most likely) if you want to ignore it it might be better to unsubscribe to this post...

Oh no thats fine. I'm glad that maybe I helped spark a discussion that might help make some changes. Like I said I just worry more for people who might have thin skin or be more effected by such negativity. I understand that it will never go away but its nice to think that maybe more things can be done about people who like to talk big and hurt others from behind a keyboard.

OK, good, just wanted to be sure that A: you were alright with that and B: You knew how to unsubscribe if you wanted to. I didn't know how to for a somewhat embarrassing amount of time :P I do hope this can spark some serious change, especially (as I said) on mobile, where it is currently impossible to report players.
I always accept people's rage requests, because I personally think it's hilarious. The only thing that bothers me is they never give me a chance to respond to the pure stupidity they send me.
About 2 weeks ago I topdecked lethal against a guy who had me dead on board. I immediately got a friend request and thought "this should be good." He actually added me to say good game and ask me what list I was using. I was shocked to find out that not everyone in the hearthstone community is a raging little butthurt.
I know none of this has anything to do with you wanting to report people, so to that I would suggest contacting blizzard.

I have only encountered one raging person, personally. I've encountered a few asking about decks, and one wanting to try an experimental deck against me (C'thun mill, in this case). That's it though.

You are being a little jerk. Look at your post history. The first three pages are all troll post. Go to Forumwarz.com and play your game there.

Don't accept the friend request unless you're ready to start throwing shade before they do.
