When I'm playing "serious" games, like Arena or trying to do well in ranked, then I don't want any distractions so I just squelch my opponent right at the start and don't bother to do any emotes to them. If you know that you might get irritated by sarcastic emotes, why even give them a chance to do it?
If playing casual or just low ranked, I may sometimes leave on emotes and use them, but I will squelch them if they do stupid stuff like one dude was saying "thank you" for every creature of mine he killed, not very original or interesting. I'm a little up in the air if saying "Thank you" after someone concedes is polite or rude. On one hand you may be "thanking them for not dragging it out", but on the other hand you may be saying "thank you for the easy win, bitch"!
I've only had people try to b.net friend invite me after games a few times, and I declined every time, since I'm pessimistic with players and assume they just want to trash talk and I don't have time for that.
If I "greet" and they don't anwer I "greet" again, if they keep not answering after a few turns I would probably troll them a bit if I win :)
Likewise, anyone that spams multiple greetings in a row to get a greeting out of me, I am always sure to slow-roll BM with my lethal if I'm about to win.
Also, as a random aside... The OP's attempted spelling of "etiquette" for this thread name made me shiver.

Also, when I play druid and am in the process of force/savage roar combo'ing them for the win, I will always emote a "Nature will rise against you" before I play the cards.
Also, as a random aside... The OP's attempted spelling of "etiquette" for this thread name made me shiver.
I also think that if your deck isn't card-for-card the same as the common lists for that archetype, you need to apologize. If I can't reliably know what to expect from my opponents deck, it's BM.
Maybe add a "You got lucky" emote in with the mix, for other people. I think the would cover any situation you would need. Won't matter to me, because it will be squelched anyway from the start.
I do not BM (intentionally, anyway) unless the person i'm playing against has an offensive name. Yes, it is my definition of offensive, because I said so. I slow-rolled every turn while I sent in a Blizzard report against them.

I always get a kick out of the spelling Nazi's that point out bad grammar/spelling. Is your life so unfulfilled that you have to point out the flaws of others on a gaming website forum??

Let's set a standard that people don't know about. So when others don't follow our standards we can sneer at them and call them rude.

If you see a post that you find objectionable, report it, it helps keep the forum clean. But be aware people are allowed a lot of latitude.
If you find my posts to be rude, objectionable, or whatever, well, I got tired of writing polite TL; DR (Too Long, Didn't Read) posts at crybaby whiners. So now I just make it short and nasty.
If you find that funny, well and good. If you find that sad, that's even better.
Haha, some salty bastard added me saying "let's just see who makes legend first" after getting blasted by the Shockadin. Not sure whether to remove him or rub it in his face when I get there...
I do in my stat tracking spreadsheet! In the past 100 games, I've had 4 instances of BM. That's 26 arena matches and 74 constructed. 4% isn't all that bad really...
I use "Well Played" at the end of every game as I do "Greetings" at the start of one, regardless of a win or lose to show respect(or at least as an attempt to show respect). Nothing personal.
One thing I've stopped doing is destroying a couple minions as a way to complete a quest and then finish with lethal, because I understand it can be perceived as bad manners. Triska post is great, do not assume ill will.
I think if you join a game, and the opponent says "thank you", it's obvious that their deck is a counter to yours. At that point, you should concede. There's no need to make me play a whole game when it's obvious that I won before mulls.
Tip to anyone who sees me on ladder. If I say "thank you" instead of "greetings", just concede, otherwise it's just BM.
This on the other hand..lol, this seems a bit silly to me, I haven't been playing this game for very long. But this is a huge assumption to make, at worst it can be bad manners..or this, if your opponent has faced you before? I mean, you said when you join the game, and you didn't even say anyone has played minions..so they don't even know what deck archetype your using, but I'm going to assume they do.
Now, as someone who just agreed that people can jump to conclusions to fast, I'm going to jump a little bit slowly..saying "thank you" with that exact intent is not possible to intercept at the beginning of a game. At all, if the very first thing they say is "thank you"..not even "well played".
I can concede if I'm sure I'm going to lose, that's fine, but conceding at the beginning of the match at the assumption that an opponent I've never faced has a deck that counters my own before they even play a minion because they said "thank you"? That seems a tad bit silly.
"The elements will destroy you!", "the elements will destroy you!", "the elements will destroy you!", "the elements......" (Neener neener neener neener neener....)
"I thank you." (Thanks for falling for my mind games and went for my face instead of my board)
"well played!" (I'm gonna smash you for lethal now. Kthxbai).
I say 'Welcome' at the start of every game I play. Sometimes they respond, sometimes they don't. Either way I don't care, I'm not saying it to get a response, I'm saying it to be polite.
If my opponent plays a particularly good round, or surprises me with a clever use of mechanics, I say 'Well Played', again not really caring if they respond or not.
At the end of a game, win or lose, once the final damage is done I give a 'Well Played'. I don't care if I get a response.
Pretty much this. I might toss a "Sorry" if they get a particularly bad RNG result (if I see a Captain's Parrot off of Webspinner, for example).

Feels like I'm missing an obvious joke, lol.
No you are not missing it. You are improving it by adding an element of self humiliation. It's now funnier than ever.

Anyone do BM statistics tracking?
