When will people learn, Yogg wins games? Something like 1/3 of all spells are strictly beneficial. If you play yogg at the right time in the game, after casting enough spells, you will come out ahead often overwhelmingly so most of the time. Yes there are stinkers in there, but if you play tempo mage with cultist tomes and drop him late game, he wins games most of the time.
Yes, the spells are random. But the odds of getting a pyroblast to the face is exceedingly low. Direct damage spells rarely do much to the face.
I've been playing him for the last few days. I can remember one game where yogg screwed me vs. countless games where yogg wins me the game.
Some rules for yogg.
1) Cast it on an empty or near empty hand. He does cast astral communion. He also has a variety of card draw options including doom.
2) Cast it when you your opponent has more minions on the board that you.
3) Best cast in control vs. control stalemate.
4) Don't cast it near fatigue.
5) Only use him in a deck where you are likely to cast 10-15 spells before dropping him. As most spells will be beneficial, you aren't going to cast call of the wild or put secrets on your opponent for example, the larger the number of spells the more likely the effect is beneficial. Maybe you buff an opponents minion only to clear the board next spell and cast call of the wild next for example.
Another thing to keep in mind is don't cast him when you are lower on health but in a better position than your opponent. I have watched people Yogg themselves to death in games that I honestly though they had won. Playing against mage, I have one card, he has 7 (that damned tome) Sure I had more HP, but how the hell to win against him with one card? Still on turn 10 he plops down Yogg and gives me the win. Thanks.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
He wins games if you're lucky, that's literally all there is to it.
For the rest of us, he destroys our board, overdraws our hand, and deals a ton of damage to our own faces. You can't say that a card with this much RNG can possibly be consistent enough to win games. Yes, it happens, but it's entirely random, so some people will get great outcomes and some horrible, you just happened to get a lot of great ones.
Yogg is one of my most hated cards, I've only lost to his shenanigans once (he managed to kill my 2 taunts out of my board of 5ish minions and cast Charge on himself) but his design frustrates me. People who have no business winning a game should not win because they decided to add a "yolo" card to their deck. No matter how consistent or good you think he is, this minion has a million different outcomes and you can't count on him to do all the work and save your game for you.

Number 5 is key.
Outside of Mage decks running cabalist tome it's exceedingly difficult to play him after 10-15 spells have been cast and NOT be near to fatigue. So from what I have seen about 50% he doesn't do anything particularly spectacular. 20% He draws me waaaaay closer to fatigue than I like if not into fatigue and about 20% he puts me ahead enough to win. 5% I loose outright, 5% I win outright.
I only play him for fun. I can't rely on him to win me games and I will never play him when I am ahead. Which makes him pretty meh in my book. Super fun, but not reliably effective.
I've seen Yogg played against me about 20 times now, he's survived his spells only twice and killed me directly only once. 99.9999% of the time he either kills you or gives your opponent a huge advantage.
Having played against a Yogg Saron deck, the general rule is that he CAN'T be your win condition. You need to build a deck with a lot of spells, but a deck that can win the game by itself. Yoggy is an OH F*CK button; you use him to win games you otherwise had no chance in hell to win.
Personally I love him in my mill rogue deck. There are some games where you just cannot win (hello oracle in the last three cards.....) and Yogg-Saron, Hope's End can indeed be your only 'win condition' sure, it is more of a shit show YOLO button but thats why I play mill rogue anyway.
I predicted this , some disagreed but now the results speak for themselves , op is completely right , yogg is a pain to deal with , everytime someone plays him against me he gets an advantage after the effect is over , the math are on the side of the one who play yogg and besides that you have a free potentiall reset tool in case something goes wrong.

If you really, truly believe in luck, your opinion regarding the power levels of cards is worthless.
People who play him and win DO deserve it because most of the time, they are using a deck that plays to his strengths, and they play him at a time in the game that minimizes his drawbacks.
In general, people's "most hated cards" tend to be either powerful ones they themselves do not own, or ones they do not know how to use well.

I'm still didnt saw a game where Yogg was good enough to justify to be played outside for fun and I'm still didnt saw a competitive deck where he made it better.
But a lot of people find it fun so thats nice.
I agree with the op post, if you want to take the best of the card

I'm sorry, but what are those results you speak of? I've yet to see anyone beating the crap out of people in tournaments because of a yogg-saron deck, and I also havent seen anyone taking r1 legend with it.

Well there you have it. No one has made r1 legend with a yogg deck yet so obviously yogg does not win games. Can't argue with that lol.

That is twisting what I said by a HUGE margin. If you're as good ar hearthstone as you are at having an argument, im not surprised you think yogg is such a top tier card.

I dont remember any major tournament since the release of wog so that point is irrelevant , yogg has a place on tempo and freeze mage and maybe even on miracle rogue , i dont know if those decks are capable to take r1 but they are pretty strong decks thats for sure and using r1 as a justification for a good deck is not a very good idea , i wouldnt consider it impossible though for a yogg deck to take r1 at some point.

For me Yogg is a card to be used as a last resource when you are going to be defeated. I have played it some times with only 1 life and it killed me less than 1/3 of the times. Maybe it will not turn the game into a win, but gives you a chance.
