So This is just a general discussion about What the Old Gods expansion didn't have that might have been interesting to be put in, If there is already a discussion like this please link it in the comments below or just get rid of this one thread.
So one of the things that I thought I was sure of that Whispers of the Old Gods would bring were new Demons to warlock, when all the cards were release and I saw that there were no Demons, I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong I absolutely Love WOTOG and what they gave warlock like Possessed Villager, Darkshire Councilman, and Forbidden Ritual but I just thought maybe a few demons would appear for warlock.
My Question is to you beautiful people is Do you think WOTOG should have added Demons for warlock? Also What Do you think should have been appropriate to have been added that wasn't, for example new secrets for mage, hunter, and paladin. This is just a casual discussion so please do write your comments and critcisms about this topic. :)
Warlock is the least interesting class that came out of this expansion for me, with the exception of Renounce Darkness, and maybe DOOM!. I'm not particularly interested in any other card. It seems that zoo got a lot of attention with cards like Forbidden Ritual, Possessed Villager, Darkshire Councilman, and Darkshire Librarian but I may be very biased because I don't play aggro. Spreading Madness and Darkshire Librarian both seem like space-fillers that aren't particularly interesting to me, and I really think adding some demon synergy would have given warlock the duality that the class is known for. Not to mention, I think demons are the coolest aspect of the class in general.
Wow! I did not Expect Sasha to answer this Forum lol, I voted for your Red class for the competition a few months ago! anyway I'm glad that you agree that Demons would definitely add a little "spice" to the Warlock Class when WOTOG was released, Did you have any thoughts about any other card that you thought should have been added that wasn't when the cards were first release?

Haha wow man, glad you liked my class! Anyways, I really expected something similar to the Voidcaller since it got rotated. I understand that they didn't want to go with a demon theme this expansion, and they didn't have to, but I think that just adding one minion that somehow interacted with summoning demons would have been enough to keep the archetype afloat.
The Demons and the Old Gods hate each other, so it felt weird to put a bunch of demons in the Old Gods set! We kind of had the anti-Old Gods thing happening in Paladin, so we didn't want to do that again.
Ben Brode likes having things show up sometimes then see them not show up later. Demonlock was powerful, and now it's time for some other Warlock decks to shine.
So yeah, they just couldn't be bothered to give us any new demons because "it was working at some point". Warlock was built as class with "demon synergy" in mind (see class and basic cards) and after years of waiting to be at a point where that was actually viable they just said "fuck you". Not like they removed beast druid or beast hunter or anything...
They just have no clue what to do with warlock anymore. The "cheap but with a downside" doesn't work. The only cards that saw play were Flame Imp (which was nerfed) and became more or less unplayable depending how rampant face decks were, Doomguard, which sees little play now because it was only really viable with Voidcaller and Soulfire, which was nerfed and sees no play at all because the value is just not there.
Demon synergy wasn't there until Voidcaller had good targets. Both are gone now and having mediocre-to-downright-bad buff cards doesn't do anything to make the other mediocre cards playable.
Then they WASTED multiple cards on the "discard"-theme without realizing we need more cards that benefit from it and less that discard them (that's why darkshire is so bad). Fist of Jaraxxus is also laughably bad.
Recently they push warlock as kind of swarm class, like they try(ed) with Shaman, Paladin and Druid before. It somewhat works, but only because of the hero power.

Demons and old gods hate each other. Brode since when did you start carrying about the lore of warcraft? Who the hell is Ragnaros, The Lightlord? This card is taking a piss of warcrafts lore. You put almigthy lord of fire into a dress.

Ben Brode said this about it:

I
Blizzard killed Handlock and Demonlock this expansion, and made Zoolock completely broken.
And you guys believed they wanted to slow down the meta. Lol.
