it's that part of the month again when the ladder resets and we have to start climbing again. I almost haven't played the last 2 months and from finishing at rank 6 I am now at 20. I;m sure that a lot of you are familiar how though it may be to go through ranks 16-20 especially now that there is no established meta. Usually at these ranks you can meet and play against decks that most of the time have no place at these low ranks and it's hard (especially for newer players) to climb. My question is what kind of deck archetype or specific deck do you guys think would be the most successful and consistent to climb with. I;m constantly on a hit and miss at these ranks... 1 day one deck works wonders and I manage to get to 16 the next day playing with a typically higher ranked deck (by the community) I drop to 19 again... and it's a constant switch in-between those ranks ;/
Not really netdecking tbh. I used to but not for a long time. Especially now with all of the new deck types I;m trying to experiment as much as possible and see what works for me but so far nothing. I don't really know... most of the time it's that I just run out of answers or don't have them when I need them ;/ if you want we could play a game or two.
of course it may be because of poor decision making on my part and in such cases I;m willing to improve and I also want to. Tho that would mean that it would be great if I could have somebody to play against or to watch me and give tips for a couple of games or something similar ;/
Its not always player skill getting you from rank 20-15
obviously the other player is usually bad, but at the start of the season you will be playing against climbers anyway + this game has gotten so much more luck based with the addition of the mini game "who draws their old god first"
Even a bad player may win against a better or a good player if he is lucky enough to draw what he needs whenever he needs. That's how card games work.
You never know what you might find in those ranks.. I've met completely new players and also a lot of legend players with for example ctrl warrior decks at rank 18 and that at any points during the season.. we all know that there ARE players that just sit on those ranks to farm for golden heroes. Of course that's probably not the case right now seeing how the meta is shifting way too much.
turn 1 trogg, turn 2 totem golem, turn 3 hero power turn 4 trog and lave burst turn 5 spirit wolves
tell me where you see counter play or legend level playing changing this situation
all this game is, is you playing your deck winning against bad players and losing against bad players who manage to steal wins from you. eventually you hit rank 5-legend where everyone is just playing bad decks to steal wins off you
Im a bit late to this thread but you can still play a lot of different decks. I´m not a big fan of warrior or rogue but thats just a personal preference.
I climbed from 17 to 11 with midrange hunter. Its a bit deathrattle themed but without NZoth because Almost every game ends between turn 8 and 10. You can easily switch a card for NZoth though if you like.

honestly. this is how games go
turn 1 trogg, turn 2 totem golem, turn 3 hero power turn 4 trog and lave burst turn 5 spirit wolves

tbh I very rarely see aggro shamans. Maybe because I haven't played past rank 6 and back when I did play at those ranks it was 60% secret paladins
Patron warrior is working very well atm, but requires a bit experience :)
add me then :) GT: BlackHellcat#2562

From 11 to 7 with a pure winstreak and to current 6 with this shaman deck:
Will climb to lg with it I think. But if I dont, I may switch to this one here (idea from Thijs stream):
hey. could you add me in game? I'd love to chat with you a bit :) you could maybe also give me some tips as well. BlackHellcat#2562
