If you are going for a deathrattle rogue then craft N'Zoth. N'Zoth also has the added benefit of being great in other classes (Paladin & hunter for example).
If you however decide to exclusively play Rogue (Miracle or Malyrogue) Xaril is insane for those decks.
I would personally craft N'zoth, since it's a neutral which means that you can fit him in other deathrattle decks, and I also think he's way cooler than Xaril. On top of that, deathrattle rogue with Xaril but no N'zoth doesn't make much sense. As for Anub'arak, I think he's too slow even in a slower meta.
I’ve been playing Deathrattle rogue a bit recently and personally I would go with N’zoth over Xaril. Xaril is a nice card and all, but I don’t think it’s necessary for the deck. He can easily be replaced by something else and the deck will still preform just fine.
N’zoth on the other hand literally takes the deck up a tier in my experience. When I’m able to pull him off he usually wins me the game. Another plus for N’zoth is he’s neutral, so you can use him in other decks besides rogue.
I wouldn’t consider Anubarak though, he’s too slow to include as an independent card, but he's fun to get off Journey Below.
Edit: Darn, my advice was a little too late. Oh well, Have fun with N'zoth!
I would craft N'Zoth, if you had to pick one. If you run two copies of Journey Below you're bound to get Anub'arak or Xaril at least once. You can also experiment with using N'Zoth with other classes.
Xaril is shaping up to be a must have for Rogue. Crafted him at release and didn't regret it one second.
So the question isn't if he is worth it, the question is if the Rogue class is worth it to you.
I also crafted N'zoth, and he is definitely fun especially in a Deathrattle Rogue, but I'm starting to doubt his viability in Standard. There are simply not enough good Deathrattle minions available in my opinion, I even considered crafting Chillmaw because of that. The sad part is that N'zoth would be amazing if it weren't for aggro reigning again.
To me Xaril just feels like another Bloodmage Thalnos...really good and useful, but really doesn't leave as much of an impact as the bigger legendaries.
Deathrattle rogue works without Xaril, but most certainly not without N'zoth

There are plenty of deathrattles for rogues, also you don't have to resurrect that many minions for him to be amazing. In paladin, resurrecting a Sylvanas Windrunner, Tirion Fordring and Cairne Bloodhoof can provide enough value.
I was thinking the exact same thing with the comparison to Thalnos. It fits so well in rogue, but it's not a 'Wow!' card, which might cause some people to overlook/underrate the card. It's really good.

The problem I have with N'zoth isn't that he is not providing enough value, it's just the wrong kind of value in the case of Rogue. Against Control he is amazing, reviving Cairne, Sylvanas and a bunch of low level minions like Thalnos CAN seal the game.
However, currently matches are often decided by who gets their Old God out faster, and in the case of N'zoth you also have to survive one turn on top to deliver the finishing blow (unlike C'thun who instantly blows his load). At this point we are talking about 10 mana endgame, and we are talking about Rogues with no healing and no meaningful taunt Deathrattles available to them. I mean it's not like I'm the only one realizing this, you can already see people trying out Reno in Deathrattle Rogue, a huge tradeoff when we consider how few options you have in Standard. But the need for some sustain is just that big, with Belcher and Healbot gone.
This is the perspective against Control, which is alright. But against aggro? Well, have fun.
So after disenchanting a ton of garbage adventure cards, I have enough dust to craft a legendary for my deathrattle rogue deck.
Question is, which one do I craft? I'm terribly indecisive, and would appreciate some other people's opinions.
Also, should I even consider making Anub'arak?
Noice.
I have both and both are great ...the toxins are clutch and n'zoth has won me games

A glorious bundle of salt.

Alright, I decided to make N'zoth. Next crafting goal is definitely going to be Xaril, though.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

N'zoth is incredible, give him a try in wild…
