I feel that WotOG has made a definitive push for control-type decks (or midrange for that matter). It's not only the many new 10 drops and other high cost mana cards but the nerfs on key cards like Knife Juggler or Leper Gnome. I see it as a clear design strategy from Blizzard to force players to invest a little more on the new set, with Standard and all.
Yes, it's over for aggro. Control won. Turns out you're the big hero and we're gonna hold a parade in your honor. I get to drive the float, and Simmons here IS IN CHARGE OF CONFETTI!
Interesting to note that he makes his points based on the nerfs released a few days ago instead of on actual experience of playing the release in which aggro is DEFINITLY still a thing.

That is not true aggro decks will always be a thing there are a lot aggro shaman decks now
Not dead, just have to refine the aggro decks again as usual because a lot of the base aggro cards were taken out. If an effective aggro deck exists, you will hear about it soon.

Aggro is not dead, look at Burn Shaman. Midrange is not dead, look at all the C'thun decks. Control is not dead, Freeze Mage is always going to be a thing.
A SPECIFIC Aggro/Midrange/Control deck might be dead, but the beauty of the game is that you can just play another one.

You may want to get your sarcasm detector checked. The thing seems to be on the fritz.

You even used bolded letters to make it easier to detect, he should DEFINITLY bring it in to the shop.
Leper Gnome and Knife Juggler may be dead but Tunnel Trogg and Flamewreathed Faceless are way better cards. There is no universal answer since Big Game Hunter can't even be played w.o. you being on the coin, and even then would you really seize back the tempo you desperately need? There is no universal Antique Healbot . There is no Sludge Belcher You are forced into either the classes that can heal, but strong board clear oriented cards have rotated out ( Lightbomb, Death's Bite) or play or a midrange Zoo ish deck to race them, which in turn is the same idea of spiking early and a great deal of that is decided by the quality of your opener, which is what the concept of a fast meta is. A Shaman curving out is as strong as a last format secret paladin curving perfectly, except that last format you could rely on Big Game Hunter or Antique Healbot to comeback. It is the second day of the expansion and I'm already sick of constantly dying on turn 7 to Lava Burst after finally recovering the board. I undertand that blizzard is trying to forge an identity for classes and decks based on what they can or can not do, but being pressured with cards you can't interact since turn 1 is just beyond reasonable.
Personally I thought aggro was dead well before Old Gods landed. I looked over my game history from the previous month and there was a handful of aggro decks (aggro shaman most popular) and a mountain of slow decks (control/fatigue/stall priest and various Reno flavours the most popular).

Aggro lives on. Aggro always lives on. We can only quell the tides of the ever-rising shores.
Check out my Custom Undead Expansion!

The only viable aggro decks so far are Zoo (aggro version) and Face Shaman. Other than those two, there doesn't seem to be any other good aggro decks.
you CAN'T be serious....
Aggro Shaman with the 7/7 is the BEST deck in the meta right now......
Face hunter is alive and well

Even if i die i'll continue to play aggro! PEACE
How is aggro dead? Standard is full of them.
Obviously, as a lot of people are trying very slow decks, Aggro comes to try to kill them before they can do anything.
marigolds are pretty much in love, but he doesn't mind
