I didn't realize he'd have a random mana size every time, making him rather inflexible (not very useful in the first few turns unless you're awfully lucky.) I'm afraid I've been quite disappointed in him; I expect I'll end up dusting him, in fact. Not even fun, really.
Saw Hafu get him in an Arena draft... seemed to do good work (pardon the expression). He was sometimes not good to play, then she just didn't play him until he changed to something useful.
Most minions suck compared to the ones you'd put in your constructed deck, so very rarely does the mana cost and minion quality line up perfectly for you to play him over your own cards. In a control deck you might as well replace him with a random big legendary cos both are unplayable before turn 6.. at least the big legendary gives you guaranteed value. Mostly for arena I think
The way you've got to look at it is in terms of percentages, what times is it the ideal mana cost and minion, what times it's acceptable, and what times it's unplayable, having just one dead card in hand for a bit is fine in Warlock for example, and eventually it'll hit something good, or worst case scenario some kind of big-bodied threat. Do you have time to wait, and can you get by with the other cards in your hand? The pay-off seems reasonable if the rest of your deck is built in a balanced way. The big disadvantage is you can't play him the turn you draw him...
Has anyone been fooling around with him to see what he can do?

In arena I can understand, but in constructed, you never want a dead card in your hand, hoping that it's gonna turn into something decent or relevant.
Not all who wander are lost.
i run him in my wild format pure casino mage. Not too good in constructed, but pretty fun to rng lovers.
