"It's a bad card because 10-mana minions must have immediate impact on the board."
This is what mindless sheep have heard some streamer say, and now they're repeating it without understanding the reasoning behind that logic. The reason late game minions usually must have that immediate effect on the board is that otherwise it gets removed and no value for you. Now that you start thinking about it, sticky minion also ensures that you get that value.
"It's bad because so many dragons have battlecries and you lose them."
That's why you do not play Deathwing, Dragonlord in dragon decks (more detailed explanation later).
"This is awesome and OP!!! This will break the meta!"
No. It's fairly good but not OP.
"I'm going to include this in all of my dragon decks, this will be so good in Dragon Priest! It'll be tier 1 deck in Standard!
No. Noononono. You do NOT include this card in dragon decks, because as I pointed out before, the battlecry effects won't trigger. RIP Twilight Guardian, Twilight Drake, Azure Drake, Alexstrasza, Dragon Consort, etc. Also RIP dragon synergy cards, such as Blackwing Corruptor as you're not (obviously) holding any dragons anymore after playing Deathwing, Dragonlord. The only dragon that is both good enough to be used and doesn't lose a battlecry effect when summoned by this card is Ysera.
So where does one use this card? Do you just use it as a 10 mana 12/12? Well no. This is a combo card, not a synergy card. You run onlyYsera and Deathwing, Dragonlord, no other dragons. I can especially see this combo in CW, which is the only deck that is both slow enough to run this combo and also minion based (compare to CP and Freeze Mage).
Honestly, I suspect that he will find his place in N'Zoth the corruptor decks. Like u play him, he dies, Ysera may or may not come out, wtv. Then later u play N'Zoth the corruptor, and then by this time hopefully u have ysera in ur hand, and then IF they can clear your Deathwing, Dragonlord (along with whatever else you play, like Tirion Fordring, Sylvanas Windrunner, whatever it is), you get ysera dropping. even if you don't, its a 12-12 body, which coming along with a bunch of other strong deathrattle cards, it'll be strong
The only dragon that is both good enough to be used and doesn't lose a battlecry effect
As Chromaggus is borderline good in Dragon Priest, I don't think it's worth running just for this combo. However, as @LucasProcel pointed out, I forgot about Malygos and possibly Nozdormu.
There are several dragons without battlecries that you can still run tbh.
Ysera aside, there is Chromaggus, Malygos, Nozdormu and Chillmaw among the legendaries.
Aside from the legendaries, there are other choices too like Hungry Dragon. Now, hungry dragon does have a battlecry, but that battlecry gives your opponent a minion. Dragonlord would summon him without this negative effect so thats a win right there.
Other decent choices include Coldarra Drake (mage only) and more importantly, Scaled Nightmare. Assuming that your opponent kills Dragonlord and then ends his turn, if you got a scaled nightmare out with Dragonlord then you got a free 4/8 body on the board, after your opponent spent removal tools and or minions to take down Dragonlord. It'd be at the late stages of the game so its unlikely, but quite possible nonetheless for Scaled Nightmare to survive a turn even after that and go to 8 attack. Either that, or it'll force your opponent to throw more removal out to stop its attack from doubling again.
Long story short, there are several dragons that synergize with Dragonlord...that several if not all people seem to be ignoring. Even if you wouldn't normally play them in the current meta, there is no reason to believe that they will be unplayable in the future meta with Dragonlord. If nothing else, then the least Dragonlord will do will be to force your opponent to squander some removal cards to get rid of the threats.
I strongly agree. I would probably run Hungry Dragon over Twilight drake myself simply because it has a better body. It's not necessarily a dead card to top deck. While not the best to give your opponent a minion, it's still a 5/6
As others have stated, not only Ysera, but also Chillmaw, Chromaggus and Malygos are pretty goold with this Deathwing. If you can at least get 1 of those out once Deathwing Dragonlord dies, then it was worth it. If you get more than 1 out, you won already.
Would your opponent even dare to remove this card? Only with Polymorph alike spells or with silence this creature may be removed and that's an enough reason to play him.
I'm definitely gonna play this card even a deck without Dragons this card proves to be useful since your opponent does not know if you have or have not dragons in your hand...

But if you play Chillmaw this way you won't have any dragons left in hand to trigger its AOE...
My opinion in Deathwing, Dragonlord, and my opinions in your opinions:

Or...
You could run it in a dragon deck.
If it pulls alextraza, yeah you lost the battlecry, but you basicly win on tempo!

And your opinion is so important that you have to start a new thread and can´t use the card´s thread?

The card will see play in N'zoth decks, even if they run no dragons.

the most played its going to be in is from museum curator
Any reason this thread isn't in the original card thread? Seems unnecessary to make a new thread just for your opinion.
Hungry dragon will be worth playing with it as you don't want that battlecry anyways.
It seems like OP didn't even check all possible dragons lol. Of course it's a situational card but the value is great.

Anyway, the Dragons with Battlecry are usually early/mid minions.
There's no reason to wait after turn 10 for Twilight Dragon, or Crepuscular, Consort, etc..
