I don't usually read forums so maybe this question was answered eventually.
When I play ladder I want to either lose or win fast by giving up in time or executing lethal without delay.
Recently I've encountered more and more people who are ropping and bm'ing even they know they're having lethal.
@those who're doing this line of play: whats the psychology behind this? Are the opponent supposed to get mad? Because personally I don't. I just go: "huh, what a waste of time".
For me trolling makes only sense within the context of a message board, where you can see a victims reaction to your posting / actions, and hence get that silly satisfaction out of it. But in ladder game you can't detect the mental state of your opponent. So those ladder archetypes are wasting not only the opponents time but their own.
I guess I'll have to shrug it off, because I don't get it.
I don't rope but I always try to do the highest possible overkill as my mana and cards will allow. Sometimes I waste a few seconds figuring out how to do so but I never intentionally waste the turn. I always enjoy when my opponent does the same to me, it's nice to know exactly how badly you lost by.
normally i like to deal as much damage as i can, i just a way of celebreating the victory, kinda like football players making a hearth with their hands after a goal, but when the game was to frustrating (control players countering everything i play) i rope and try to made like i don't have lethal when i really have it. but i don't hate when my oponent do the same, i hate when they rope every turn, or when i have a nice difficult lethal and they quit
Actually, you gain more experience the more cards you play/more actions you make per game so some people may BM just to get more out of each game. I really doubt anyone does it for that reason though, I just do it to rub it in harder.

I'm here to kick ass and play cards, and I'm all out of ass.
We adults don't do this sort of thing because we've had more than 5 ranked wins, and we no longer whip out our dick and slap the monitor each time.
Vince Lombardi quote seems appropriate here: "When you go into the endzone, act like you've been there before."
It's not a good look to carry on like this is the first time you ever won a game and you're super excited about it.
"They've got no idea what it's all about. The white guys, they work hard, but they don't have the talent. And the rest of them? Who knows what to expect? They're not good for much of anything." -Michael Jordan
I don't understand the mentality of OP's case, but I do understand the rope BM in general. The rope BM is sometimes the only retaliation you have against a person who thinks they're hot shit because they had a perfect mulligan vs your entire hand of late game. Generally, any normal person just accepts the loss and moves on. I do that most of the time.
But every so often you get the "Hello" or "Greetings" or "My Thanks" mid-game that rubs you the wrong way. That's when I lay on the rope BM every turn while I do something else on another screen. It's just a weapon, a tool like any other. You force them to waste their time on you by paying with your own time. It's balanced. At the worst case scenario, you've kept a cancer deck/player off the ladder for an extra 20 minutes. Best case scenario is they get fed up and leave because their cancer deck could probably take 3 wins in the time it takes to get yours.
If they do that to me, I just do it back to them. Let them get the win but need to wait longer than needed. Had moments as well where I end up drawing a board clear and heal up and they instant-concede thinking they had the win in hand.
If I get roped during a bm moment, I start my turn, let it start to rope, play a card, let it finish the rope and say "Well Played" at the end. I never bm on purpose, don't feel a reason to and just win or concede the moment I see its a win/loss, but when I get bm'ed like a rope burn I just do it back to them for them and get my enjoyment of the game.
I hate it as well. If I have lethal on board I even make an effort to kill them as quickly as possible - without showing them what else I have in hand that I could've killed them with or first attacking with all of the 1-attack minions, even if I don't need to. It's just rude and wastes time.
Well, if you know your opponent has lethal, why don't you just concede yourself ? In a sense, you are the one delaying the unavoidable, no?
Did you even think about that before posting? How should you know that your opponent for example has a Fireball in hand that can kill you, but ropes before playing it?

I do it for exactly this reason :/

They do it to spite people, it's called 'trolling'. It happens online pretty frequently.
Basically, the psychology involves gaining pleasure from others' frustration.

I've topdecked lethal at least twice when people try to BM me like this. Never concede, folks. It ain't over til the sad trumpet music plays!

It seems that those actions are only being done because someone else did that to you before. A vicious karma payback circle of some sort I guess.
Whatever makes you happy I guess.
I'll only do donuts on the opponent's face for lethal when either:
1. They have been BM'ing and acting like total shits. Or:
2. I'm playing a crappy gimmick deck and I can actually pull off the gimmick.

.. not sure if this was meant sarcastically, but I like that coldlight seadrake card.

We can be happy that they rope every turn and drag all their games out, because in that way they play less games in which they can rope...

I've overkilled on lethal to finish up a damage to hero quest.. Even though I try to hold 40g quests
Seems ok.
