...sigh.. well I comprehensively confirmed last season that rank 4 was the same if not easier than rank 18 (It was significantly easier as it happens, my winrate was well above 70% for 10-4) and now I'm stuck back at 18 playing this random bullshit that only I seem to face where it's impossible to win by anything other than luck. I would get legend so easily if I started the season at something like rank 10 and didn't have to deal with this nonsense. It takes a good 3 weeks to get away from this by which point the season is already too long gone.
The game is a random enough rng fuckfest as it is without having to account for these stupid fucking decks that these shitheads play. This is the shit that really tilts me about this game more than anything else. Random bullshit piled on top of random bullshit.
Seeing as no-one else finds this a massive problem like I do I can only assume that I'm pretty much the only one here who has to deal with it.... which kind of explains some of the stupid comments I get from people who haven't got a clue what it is like to face this sort of nonsense every time you log on and try to ladder seriously. It makes the game ten times harder to the point that how you play has no impact at all when you are playing against shit like velen priest with fucking mindgames who steals multiple doomguards.
The game is an utter breeze above rank 5 playing the meta decks. 15-20 is the hardest spot on the ladder as most players play decks that are completely random, so you often get utterly screwed through no fault of your own.
Some people here just don't have a clue how lucky they are to not have to deal with this and assume it's a lack of "skill" that means I get stuck here.; despite finding the 10-4 run last season the easiest games I played the entire season.
Start playing Arena, start to play random decks yourself.. Or stop playing the fucking game.
I was always unsure about the Loot Hoarders because they took the Heroic Strikes' place in the deck and now that you've mentioned, I swapped them and I'm testing that version again.
Win rate is cca. 66% so far (rank 10-5).

12 wins in ArenA with: Mage and Paladin, first time legend with Rogue
jap, waiting for this as well! Even if the meta isn't as bad as it has been in the past (Huntertaker or Patron heydays f.e.) it still fells stale for several months now as there is about 5 decks that are really viable and the rest is just an unneccessary stress to put yourself through while playing competitive ...
So, GL to everyone! I doubt that I will muster (pun semi-intended) the motivation to go for legend again in this meta and probably just head to 5 and play arena till the expansion arrives ...

There is just one thing that you "comprehensively confirmed": Even the most narrow-minded rng-crybaby in the world, that just refuses to grasp its own limits and to analyse its mistakes, will eventually learn by sheer repetition! It is somewhat the the trained-monkey kind of learning but still, I congratulate you very much on achieving at least this albeit imperfect stage of learning! Now, play Hearthstone, will you, you might even get to rank 3 this month...
P.S. Mods, you can warn me again for that but please, before you do so, stop the hijacking of this thread for an ongoing monologue on the competitiveness of Hearthstone! Will you?!
Just a thought and to spawn some discussion (tell me if this was already discussed here): Anybody seriously thinking about the implication of heading to Legend for Standard-Testing pruposes:
There is some evidence (the pack flag) that WOG will actually launch on April 26. This would mean that your rank gets "doubled" for Standard at a pretty late point in the month - i.e. at a pretty high rank that would allow you to immediately test standard in a competitive environment. Does this idea add additional motivation for climbing this month for some of you?! I am started to be tickled a bit myself ;)

As you have asked others in the past, show PROOF of your rank 4 and deck used.

I actually have him on my friendslist, and I can verify that he was at least rank 5 last season... He was playing midrange pally. So he's probably telling the truth.. But I don't know why he's playing the game.. He's alwasys complaining.

Just want to give friendly advice to players who usually hit or hit past rank 5 but never got to legend.
Legend players in general went through the same as you. Hit those rank 5-1 but not legend. The time they hit legend is because of 3 factors. Using a deck that requires lesser skill yet maintains a high win rate. Investing time into grinding. A greater sense of discipline when playing at higher ranks.
Any 1 or more of these WILL get you to legend. If you believe you did any of this but have not hit, it means you are not trying your best. No questions asked.
I advice that you be firm with maximum 2 decks that you want to bring to legend. Reason for this is consistency. You dont want a change in playstyle just to rank up, it'll get messy and you tilt. Another advice is to watch your opponent's mulligan. If he mulligans most of his cards, you have more flexibility in your mulligans. If he mulligans one or none, you need to carefully consider your given hand before you mulligan. Last advice is to know your opponent's outs. If he has already played a board clear plus he have very little cards in hand, you can over extend, PROVIDED that you consider how many cards have he dug into. This will help so much.
Hope these will help you. I advice that you play control decks because that is where you learn. Avoid very difficult decks such as Freeze Mage and Murloc Paladin if you are not profecient in it. Decks like Patron Warrior, Renolock, Handlock, Control Warrior, Fatigue Echo Mage, Control Priest will make you a better player. Plus...as seen in the cards of WoG, a control meta is expected for awhile because the 4 gods interact with the whole deck rather than on its own.
Check this out!
Super fast face deck, since Warrior's "infinite" weapons are the most efficient way to deal a lot of face damage ASAP!
12 wins in ArenA with: Mage and Paladin, first time legend with Rogue
How's the win rate?
Why no Heroic Strike ?

playing only arena this month. Still relived by finally getting my legend cardback last season.
Will play some ladder when standard hits probably.
Someone with CW?
The simplest explanation: you were never very good, and the competition this early in the season is far too stiff for you.
You may try deck in my sig. :)
"Infinite" doen't mean "big" - it can be small and have no end.
Finished Rank 3 last month so I was ready to go ready to rank up!
Went from Rank 14 to Rank 16 yesterday...

Hey guys,
Just wondering where you should be about if you want to hit legend this month. I might make the push this month, depending on how much time I have.
Currently rank 6 (Never made legend before). Hoping this month is the one :) Previous personal best is rank 3.
