As we all have noticed, the winners of the vote rarely reveal their card in the next couple of hours and it kind of kills the idea of having one reveal per day, at least for me. Do you think blizzard should just reveal the new cards for themselves at a fixed time? And no I do not mean that they should abort this streamer reveal now but for the next expansion/adventure. What do you think? Was this revealing system a stupid idea from the start?
Overall I like including the community. And it allows us to hear pro reaction to the cards as they come out. I just wish they had given the streamers a twelve hour window instead of a twenty four hours one.
Imo it's a good idea to involve the community and release cards via streamers. I also really like the fact that Blizzard actually tries to work with top players and involve them in their decisions and planning. They are actively engaging (I hate that word, so 'marketing'!) with the community which is great.
Blizz will be spending a tone of dollars in marketing anyways, and in my opinion it is really nice of them to take care of the community, and in particular of the streamer community that daily helps their games thrive and grow.
For once, i think that paying a few bucks each streamer for a sponsored card reveal is an intelligent move, as it helps their business. But it is also signaling to the public.
What will be the benefit of doing a regular spoil themselves? Do you think that this will bring the expansion alive sooner? Because that's not how the story goes. The expansion will come when it is planned, and it surely has been planned for months. It may be even on 24th April as it was leaked long ago.
Not taking the streamers into the spoiler circus will not ease that. And for my part, I like to think that maybe some of the money I turn in for the adventures (i buy adventures with real money) goes to these guys which really make it nice for everyone: Blizzard as a business, themselves as streamers having fun, and the public every day watching them. And I am sometimes part of this public :)
Completely agree. It's been a huge mess. Thy reveal it whenever they want and drag it as much as they can, in whatever format they want, someone just dumps it on facebook, somebody else on twitter, another on youtube. Worse, some just put it on weibo or some other local social media that people elsewhere might not be able to even access. Cards are revealed in local language, meaning community has to figure out and translate. It just looks so embarassing and amatuersih for Blizzard to associate their product reveals like this.
Site reveals have been fine in comparison, like IGN, here and some other game sites that I have seen. They even posted the image in severla languages if they are not English sites.
Do you think blizzard pays the streamers for the reveals? I do not think so, blizard is doing them a favor including them in the reveal process, they gain more publicity!
Why do you all think that Blizzard should reveal cards on fixed time and i even read here that it should be in one language :/
OK let's imagine that is a good idea. What time should it be? Evening California time and all cards in english just because it's the center of the world? I'd say China has 40-45% of 40m players worldwide, players there use weibo and do not play in English. They give Blizzard a major % of revenues. But some California guy wants all cards revealed personally for him 6 pm daily? Nice logic :)
Involving streamers and media in announcements leads to global hype and ensures that more and more people know about game. A colleague of mine started playing 2 weeks ago after reading some promo article on a site. New players. Returning players. That's the goal.
I love the randomness of the reveals, it's exciting knowing that at any point a card could turn up on Reddit, or you could catch one on Twitter if you follow the right people, or you might see one here first if you check in daily. While I dislike that some cards are only revealed in a specific language, it is a very self-centered view to expect reveals to be ideal for you and you only.
The only thing that could be improved really is a faster response time from Blizzard regarding card names and text if they're revealed in another language - though even this is sporadic, because we got The Boogeymonster almost immediately but had to wait awhile for Scaled Nightmare.

So is it official now ? It went from Nightmare Drake to Nightmare Dragon ....
If anything, the stupid idea was announcing the expansion 2 months prior to its release date... and not even give us a real date for it, especially after Brode came out and said himself they learned announcements are not supposed to be made a long way away from what you're announcing.
If we didn't have such a huge gap of time to fill with spoilers, the revealed card batches could have been way bigger, allowing for proper analysis of the set. But my guess is that they're still working on refining cards as I write this.

Yep, the English version of the card is now up on the Old Gods page on Battle.net, so we have the official name. I personally preferred Nightmare Drake, but what can you do =P

THIS.
Blizz said "next expansion is already coming" on 2th February (official blog post). Prior to that, Brode had said that they have learnt from past announces and long delays.
And we'll be glad if we get to play WOG in the last week of April. That's a joke. And if you take into account the "2 expansions + 1 adventure per year" new plan, it gets hilarious.
More over, they have made announcements of announcements of announcements about basic and classic cards being nerfed, yet nothing happened. No info, no dates on nerf application, no nothing. Blizz is taking the all-too-common HS communication breakdown to a new level.
I, personally, felt more hype and excitement during the previous expansion's card reveal method, where they were put next to one another and we could only see their rarity and card picture. You had to vote for the card you wanted, it was like a war between the cards, it was much more exhilarating and suspense creating.

I like the LOE style. It was like i clicked on a website and there i see all the new cards that was gonna be released and blizzard saying "this is gonna go live in 2 weeks. Prepurchase now" its the best release method so far

Can't argue with that!

Blizzard should reveal the cards themself, it was fun the first couple of days because the streamers were actually excited about sharing their card with the community and did it ASAP.But the last bunch has been holding to their card until last moment to milk extra viewers.
BTW Reynad is going to reveal his card in 4 and a half hours. One hour before the time limit....

So we could even get two "one each day"-streamer cards today if Firebat is a bit quicker than others (assuming that Firebat wins, which seems like happening). Well, at least we would be getting cards.
The idea is good, but the execution is terrible. Once a streamer or someone has been chosen to reveal a card, along with the announcement that <streamer X> is going to reveal a card an exact time in the next 24hours should also be announced. The fact that these people get some large arbitrary window to do the reveal makes it nearly impossible for people who want to follow along closely with the reveals to do so. These card reveals are supposed to be events... It aint much of an event when no one knows it's happening and just periodically check their hearthstone news site of choice to see if there's something new there. It would be like if Blizzard told people that blizzcon opening ceremonies were going to be some time on weekend X, but didn't give a time.

Why am I sticky?
I kind of like the randomness in the card reveals. Some days we get to see one or two cards and then other days we're seeing up to four.
I like that they include the streamers and other websites that support the game. If only the streamers were more professionals :(
